oh really? thats crap - I had the same problem yesterday. Looks like we have to save one for each a/c.

I usually have to jump out of dcs - open up the trackir file to ensure its working, then fire up dcs OB again and its all good.

I'm having significant issues with the DCS updater. I've had this previously so the only way I could get around it was to download the full installers (via torrent) each time an update occurs. Pain in the proverbial but I can live with it. However, I could NOT make the beta work primarily because it relied on the updater. So....I waited until the beta torrent comes out...and download it. Installs fine..however when I go to open it up, it tries to open the updater...then I get the above two screens and my computer hangs ie NOTHING works. It must be taking up all my memory or something. However, I can actually start the beta through the DCS.exe file in the beta folder (under bin). Unfortunately there's no modules other than the SU25T (which I love...but my first love is the A10C). If I try to reinstall the modules = dcs updater = hang. So...any suggestions?

I also need the torrent. for some reason the dcs updater always crashes my system and won't work - I actually have to fully install each update for it to work (yes thats DCSW + all the modules).

hi guys I'm starting from a fresh install of the beta (ie. I've removed my DCSW) and when it installs it hangs my whole comp. Eventually when i try to access the DCSW beta it says 'its not compatible with your system' or something. when i try to install it starts to download then opens a 2nd screen (1 says 'initialising' and the other says 'updating myself' and both hang). I normally get this with updates of DCS so I end up downloading the whole thing (which works). is there any way I can download the whole dcs beta as a torrent or something?

lol yeah...or being one of the door gunners and the pilot either quits or lags out. :thumbup:

don't worry, someone will release a mod that converts the cockpit to English and the readings to imperial or whatever (feet, kts, etc).

I have pretty much every model except the trainer (C101). Hell I even purchased FC3 twice!! (accidentally of course). I like jumping into the SU25T every now and then because its a simple a/c, and I can be airborne in about 1 min vs the A10C which takes about 5 mins. Having said that, I keep coming back to the A10.

Only 3 for me: 1. A10C 2. SU25T/SU25 3. UH-1H Of the three, its the A10C that I really have to put my mind to re-learning because of all the complexities (Coolie hat/DSMS/TMS/etc etc). Still though, nothing gives me more satisfaction than being able to employ the A10C well.

ah yes. Well done to ED on this. I used to avoid updating like the plague (4kbps :cry:). the other day I decided to download all the other modules that I'd purchased but not downloaded (eg p51, me109, fw190) and it downloaded at 1.2mbps!! :thumbup: I don't know how they did it but I'm very impressed. C'mon ED lets have at the NTTR map. I want to :joystick:

I've finally gotten the strength to re-learn the A10C again and am thoroughly enjoying it. No matter what other a/c gets released (save for the FA/18 when it eventually gets released), nothing is as technically challenging and yet fulfilling as properly employing the A10C on the battlefield....and this has all come about because of the upcoming NTTR map. After having watched the gulf wars and afghanistan on tv...I can't imagine A10s OUT of sand! lol.

TBH I couldn't be bothered...i just pre-purchased the NTTR anyway. more $$ = more development. We sorely need that gulf map to play out a myriad of scenarios.

awww :( I'm really hoping this is released soon. I'm sure there will be an EXPLOSION of new and especially returning players when this map gets released...the servers are going to be chock a block! :thumbup: I for one can't wait. Time to get some sand coloured a/c skins for everything. C'mon ED....give us the release date and the price. Well...I'll be buying it regardless.

This. I reckon the Thud did the lion's share of bombing in North Vietnam for the USAF. Plus it also did Wild Weasel missions as well.

I'd love for there to be say an A-26 esp if it covers multiple wars.

Just imagine the potential if we had a world map in DCS (with Edge). Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Crimea, Syria, the Alps, the Grand Canyon...everywhere. I've always wished we could combine DCS and FSX (as an example). *sigh* dreams are free (development isn't)

yeah fair enough...I guess thats where single pilot ops a/c would probably get preference eg. A20, Mossie, Beaufighter vs the true two pilot a/c. Atleast that way they can avoid the whole multi-crew option and try and use what the Belsimtek guys did with the Huey (ie. goes into autopilot when you crew a gunner position). I think the responses here indicate there is definitely a demand for it. There is no way for me to edit the poll now is there?

+1 imagine being able to join online servers each with different theatres eg. - A10s over Syria/Iraq - A10s over Afghanistan - Mig 21s over Vietnam, etc each with their own missions, etc.
