DCS needs two aircraft ASAP: 1. FA/18 - multi role fighter ie. air superiority, attack, SAM suppression (Growler I think) - its got it all 2. AH64 or AH1 - we need a proper western attack helicopter. Everything else can wait. :)

I'm on a reasonably fast (for aust anyway) connection of about 18mb and download at 2mb/s+. However whenever its time to update DCS, I download at 100kbps if I'm lucky. This is 2014 - surely there's a way to speed this up? How about a 'patch' I can download via torrent which autoupdates everything?

hi guys I've had this issue for a while and its really annoying me. My system is: i5 ATI 9750 8gb ram Win 7 64 bit Whenever there is a new patch, I usually try and download it through the normal update process. however whenever it completes and I try and launch it, I get this error to check what version I'm using because its incompatible! ie. 32 bit v 64 bit. I don't understand. Instead I have to redownload EVERYTHING each time ie. DCS World + all the modules, uninstall the current version and install the new version. It'll work then. However, I should NOT have to do this - its ridiculous!! Is there anything I can do?

hi guys I'm using the TIR4 with the Mig 21 and its excellent...it accelerates so that (esp) if I look upwards, I can see vertically. Unfortunately with other games, I can't look vertically. Is there some sort of special profile for the Mig 21 built into the game? If not, does anyone have a TIR 4 profile that replicates exactly how it is in the Mig 21? Thanks

I experienced my first slow down last night - did a rocket strafing run on some tanks. Once I fired and my rockets started to impact, my fps dropped from something like 30 to about 2. I then crashed headlong into the armoured vehicles I was strafing (there were others strafing other nearby vehicles so the amount of detail was quite high). What sort of timeline are we looking at in terms of lowering the LOD in the cockpit? 1 week, 1 month?

I'm not sure....I've flown during the day time and done a turn - suddenly the dials go red. Weird. Maybe it is that...I don't know. I know its definitely the nightlighting (I've flown the '21 on a night time mission on a server and it was the same colour).

Can anyone tell me why the dials go red and then back to normal? I assumed it was to do with being under G forces but its not always the case. Or am I missing something?

FYI - each time DCS is updated, I have to uninstall and reinstall DCSW and all the modules. however, all my settings (joystick, etc) and mappings still stay the same which I'm assuming is from the Appdata files. Hope that helps.

Have a read of Vietnam huey pilot autobiographies (there's a few) and you'll get a good idea of the training they did in learning to fly esp the autorotation, ground effect, etc.

Without going through 17 pages of requests, here are mine: 1. Hawker Tempest or Typhoon 2. B25 Mitchell 3. B24 Liberator 4. B17 Flying Fortress 5. Beaufighter I'm a big fan of ground attack but I don't see this being catered for well with the upcoming WW2 a/c.

Whilst everyone has their own points of view (which are all valid), I still agree wholeheartedly with the original post. Whilst I'm a big fan of DCS (owning everything up to the F86 and FW190), I keep asking the question - is anyone actually putting some thought into product development to keep DCS not just alive, but interesting??? Thats the part that fails. Why? - we have modern a/c (FC3, A10C, KA50, Mi8) - we have WW2 a/c (P51 and now the FW190) - we have a Korea era a/c (F86) - we have a Vietnam era a/c (Huey) Yet we have: - no new maps - no common playability - the promise of so much but the long periods between delivery (I understand it takes long to develop). My point is....why doesn't ED focus their time/effort/resources on ensuring playability?? ie. - modern a/c (FC3, etc)...then MORE modern a/c - F/A18, F16, F15E, etc etc. - WW2? fine, then focus ONLY on WW2 ie. P51, FW190, A WW2 MAP, WW2 era a/c - Korean conflict? fine, then MORE Korean conflict a/c - the F86 primarily went up against the Mig 15. Why not develop the Mig 15? - Vietnam conflict? fine, then MORE Vietnam conflict a/c - Mig 17, F105, etc etc. Instead we have 1 or 2 a/c from each period that never really flew/fought against each other. And we're still on the same map. I understand these are made by different partners but c'mon.....you jump online onto a 'war' server only to see P51s flying up against A10s against Hueys against Mig 29s. wtf??? Why doesn't someone at ED go: - okay, cut the crap - we're focusing on modern day a/c. You lot work on a new map (eg. Middle East), you lot work on the F/A 18, and the rest of you on an attack heli eg. AH64 or AH1Z or something. - or the same for one of the eras above...take your pick. Just please PICK ONE.

We need more multirole a/c. I certainly won't be buying air superiority a/c because I like dropping bombs, so why limit your customer base?

I bought FC3 twice. Would've been nice to actually get a notification at the purchase screen saying 'you have this already' but meh. I just hope ED use it wisely (even though its not much) - I'm sure it happens regularly.

I know I've posted on this before, however DCS World would be PERFECT for a Vietnam war scenario, particularly wrt using FACs. I guess we have to decide whether we're after the North Vietnam air war or South Vietnam air war, which were vastly different ie. NV air war - flown by F105s/F4s/A6s/F100s (initially I think) - included Wild Weasel flights (F105s) - primarily bombing of industrial or other hard targets - air combat (Mig 17/19/21) - anti air (AAA/SAM) - required A2A refueling SV air war - primarily CAS - flown by F100/A1/A6 - heavy use of FAC a/c (O1, OV10, O2) - no air combat or SAMs, little AAA - heavy use of helicopters (UH1, AH1) Unless we have a map big enough to incorporate both scenarios.

Yeah thats right....my 6 x .5 cal MGs will do wonders against the BVR capability of modern soviet fighter jets. Or maybe against the P51D?
