The most manouverable non tvc fighter?
Cobra360 replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
It was in an issue of Airforces Monthly from last year. It was reporting about some winter exercise involving the Gripen, F-16s from Norway and F-18s from Finland. I would have thought the 39' would have performed better. -
The most manouverable non tvc fighter?
Cobra360 replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The Su-35 with its new FCS software laws is supposedly able to maneuver just like the Su-37. And Norweigan F-16s have consistantly beat the Gripen in dogfights. It was in an AFM article. The Swedish pilots admitted that the 16s had a higher T/W ratio which gave them the advantage as their 39s could not sustain the high turn rates for as long. -
What is your 3 favorite aircraft.... and why :)
Cobra360 replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The F-22 does suffer form software glitches and the odd computer crash here and there. In tests last year they were aiming for five hours without a crash! Thats the price for cutting edge software I guess. -
Also Singapore are ordering a few, I think around 20. It was called the F-15T but now it's the F-15SG, they are based on the F-15K spec. And don't forget Japan. It has the F-15C and D. They are called the F-15J and DJ in Japan.

Temperature and fuel consumption
Cobra360 replied to Esac_mirmidon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Temperature does effect engine thrust IRL. I,ve tried to test it in Lockon but I can't tell if it effects it or not. Lower temp = more thrust and like wise. Then as altitude increases the temperature lowers as does air density. While you gain a little extra thrust, you lose most of it because of the air density. -
It would seem only to be able to use it's range advantage when the target is running away from you. Same lockon as the T range but the missile can run further and have more energy to turn if the target starts evasive action. A possibility? Ah, you said it before me, Evil :D
-
Don't missiles go ballistic and self destruct if they don't find a target or lose lock/guidance IRL. Or does that only apply to radar guided SAMs? That must be a bug on the EOS. The highest tracking range I have seen for that is listed at 50km max for a large target.

It seems to be all painted now, unless there is more than one test airframe. Note it has takeoff and landing flap positions.

Is there any real possibility that the Russian Navy will be able to afford the Su-33UB, right now it's the only possible customer. I don't think the carrier India is getting from Russsia is big enough for the Su-33UB and MiG-29Ks. Production Su-34s, not sure how many, have been delivered to the airforce very recently, and the Navy does not seem interested or have the money for the land based Su-32FN.
-
You mean compared to the Russian forum, could be loads of derailed topics and possibly the fact the devs operate more in the Russian forum. Who knows. Or maybe Russian speaking users use the Search function more.

The flaps have been fixed now in 1.12. the F-15 and Su-33 now have just up and down just like RL. The A-10 and Frogs have the three flap positions as they do IRL. The MiG and Su-27 are as they were before, with up and down settings. Check the new readme file in the lockon folder.

thanks to who posted to my reps...

Well, something I have noticed is, people who have been a member for at least a year have 2 or higher rep regardless of post count. But post count also seems to play some part in it aswell. -

Well, mine tells me I currently have 10 points total and none for this post. Thats the same for every post of mine I happen to click on. I'm not too sure how the system works. -

You have to click on the odd looking symbol , think its the scales of justice, just above the warning meter on one of your own posts to check it. Thats the only way I can check mine. -
Well for me the 2gigs of RAM made a difference. I'm running a 3200+ 754, 6800GT, going from 1 to 2 gigs did make a difference. I can put more settings up on high and keep a good frame rate which I could not do before. There are others here that say that they will not go back to playing Lockon with less than 2 gigs of RAM. But looking at your specs I cannot understand why you are having the slow down you describe. Every thing about your system is up there. All I can think is that there may be some programs running in the background that my be hogging some system performance.

I'm going to upgrade my CPU and I've been looking at the 3800 and 4000. There's 50 euro in the difference but benchmarks show no difference between them. They both run at 2.4Ghz but the 4000 was twice the L2 cache. So should I just get a 3800 as it will probably overclock higher than the 4000 can? And before somebody suggests going dual core, I won't consider it until more games support it.

Em, the gold version has been out for some time now. And those problems you are having in the demo do not exist in the game at all. You can get it from many online retailers.

Just recently I have got Yefim Gordon's ''Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum Muliti-role Fighter'' Yefim Gordon's ''Famous Russian Aircraft Mikoyan MiG-31'' and Steve Davies's ''Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle All-Weather Attack Aircraft'' I also have Yefim Gordon's two Flanker titles on order for over two months as they are out of print everywhere. Really, really want those.

Who posted the labelled Beriosa panel?
Cobra360 replied to britgliderpilot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Maybe it should have been the Tornado ADV and it got mixed up in the translation. -
On another note, how high can you get the F-15 and MiG-29. IRL both the MiG-29 and F-15 have reached 90-100k, you can bet they didn't stay there very long. A MiG-29 even did reached 92,000ft with a 100kg payload.

He was talking about the 10 degree dive, it's not a true top speed as it's getting help from gravity, same as if it was getting help from a jet stream. The true top speed of a aircraft is measured when it is flying level regardless of AoA with no high alt winds. And most fighters record their top speed between 35k to 40k. MiG-25 and 31 and the YF-12/SR-71 being some of the exceptions.
-
They confirmed that with me also and the fact that the Su-27 flaperons deploy to far. They said it was an unimportant bug and yet they found the time to fix the F-15 and Su-33 flaps! What gives.

Thinking about getting Trackir 3 or 4 pro
Cobra360 replied to markriley's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I got a TIR 4pro last week and its the best thing I,ve bought for my PC ever. Installation and settup was a sinch. 6DoF is for the Ka-50 only but its still worth it as Vector works in all the other cockpits. Its great for finding targets on the groung and keeping track of the enemy in dogfights. No more padlocking for me, or lables for that matter.
