Hi, thanks for explaining why this is, but I certainly did not mod any setting relevant to view angles or positions in the view.lua. I use a label-mod, that´s it. All I did to take these images was turn my head. ;)
...or did you mean that in the real MiG-21 no one would have been able to turn their head as far? I´m certainly not feeling any strain on my neck yet.
+1
I´ve owned DCS A-10C since Dec 2010 and never used up my activations. Additionally I could get new ones just by waiting or contacting ED. Entering my serial once the module has been installed and needs to activated hardly seems excessive to me. Any platform for digital distribution of video games etc. is far worse by default - and I like to use Steam (despite it´s shortcomings). Been doing so for more than 10 years. Hope the same will be true for DCS one day...
Hello folks!
I noticed something that might be a little bug.
Two screenshots should illustrate the problem.
Notice flaps position in external view:
Here seen from the cockpit view:
It seems that irrespective of which position the flaps are actually in (as seen in the external view), they will always be seen as extended from within the cockpit. I tried all positions, nothing changed.
(This was observed playing on a MP-server)
Just keep doing what you are doing.
Now that we know there will likely be collision for trees in EDGE, I want to fly the BO like I´ve seen in those vids on Youtube...
It feels like a very long time ago. I know it´s not a very useful comment ;)
A year ago sounds about right....
I didn´t mean any actual shine on the models surface, more like in more detailed, realistic or polished. Poor choice of words perhaps...
Ok, map objects, buildings and such. I was unclear, not specifying more - vehicles and planes such as the C-17, S-3 etc. pp is what I meant.
From what we´ve seen there´s a ton of new map objects and buildings. Very nice...
I´m there with you
If you are right, I guess this answers a bigger question: If EDGE is going to replace all obsolete/old models with newer, shinier ones.
Best not get hung up with speculating too much at this point.
Is that a new MiG-29 model at the beginning of the video that Wags posted? I just bought the MiG-15bis and I´m looking forward to its release, but the MiG-29 is also the last FC3 bird that still lacks a visual overhaul to this date.
Also the Su-27 exhaust nozzle suddenly closes around 80%, giving it quite a kick. I think it's a combination of both.
What you describe seems to be very noticeable in the A-10C...
Perhaps these profiles give you some ideas. I tried to unify them as much as possible and group similar functions together. At this point they permit me to fly HOTAS pretty much all the time.
I would agree though, that they are a very individual thing and possibly do not match another person´s preferences.
Cheers!

Here it is, all in time for christmas eve... ;)
First post has been updated.
Some minor improvements in it as well.

Firstly because after seeing ED´s latest skin creations, I found that I very much liked the look of these planes without it.
Secondly because of a comment that was made at my old download link pointing at russian laws etc.
If you wish I can upload one that has optional files. No problem at all, it´ll be up real soon. I´ll just finish up on some more things I wanted to add and then go do that. :) ;)
I noticed the new maps on some of the new skins, so I checked if one of them could be used together with the skin and in the end I transferred the files and entries in the description.lua. They are consisent with scratches and other details.
I´m just learning a little with every step, so what were you thinking of? Is another generic spec map available somewhere or is it already part of the template? The skin had specularity before this, but the new ones look just soo much better. :)
