  1. TrackIR (and face tracking in general) only works because it amplifies your movements. For me, looking at the outside edge of the display equals checking my six o'clock. It does help to use larger (or multiple) displays, of course, though it's not at all necessary. The greater your display area, the less amplification you will require, resulting in finer control.
  2. Just because a server is passworded, doesn't mean you can't join. Figure out which community the server belongs to, go to their website/join their teamspeak, and ask for the password. Or play single-player.
  3. One topic is enough, man.
  4. Decrease HOF and maybe get more skeets on target? Just thinking out loud here.
  5. Are you logged in? Works for me.
  6. Great pics! Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the club!
  7. Is this happening in-sim, or during playback of a track?
  8. I ROFL'd. Nice AAR, Bill! I like the post-processing, too - the gun run pic nails that 80's-video-tech look.
  9. You do know that Iran is a real country, yes?
  10. ggoodavish - The latest ATI Catalyst version is 12.10 (or 12.11beta if you are an early-adopter). AtaliaA1 - Can you point me to documentation regarding Crossfire issues? I've never had a problem and don't recall ever seeing discussion of it. But if I can further improve my performance I'm all for it! edit: Never mind, just did a quick search and found plenty of info. How did I miss this?
  11. So don't uninstall TARGET. The Thrustmaster FAST service uses no CPU time and @4Mb RAM. Practically invisible.
  12. I don't believe it's a method requiring too much analysis, as it is more of a "feel" thing. Basically, you are keeping your controls/control surfaces in a state of constant motion, though the amount of travel involved is slight. I feel that the main benefit of this is to prevent over-correction when making an adjustment on a static control - the little bit of inertia you would have to overcome is not present, so your adjustment is cleaner. I'm pretty sure this has been discussed in some AAR threads, if you care to go fishing. Good luck!
  13. It should be mentioned that "angle of attack" and "pitch angle" (the true focus of this discussion) are not the same thing.
  14. I had to roll back as well, due to constant explorer.exe crashes, which seems to be a common enough issue for others. Never got far enough to have issues with the sim or any other applications.
  15. They have said before that they don't always reply to bug report topics, even if they have noted it and are actively looking into it. If you really want to be sure they see it, however, you can always submit a formal ticket. http://support.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/
  16. LB uses cans too, but not 8 3,000 rounders!
  17. Looks like an M134 pod from a gunship?
  18. You can still create your own custom loadouts, but I think you are suggesting more of an instant "WYSIWYG" loadout editor?
  19. Furthermore, you can switch to "B" (both). Could come in handy when working at night with a buddy, or with Combined Ops JTAC, as a visual cue on your current target.
  20. Not aviation-relevant, but I'm currently reading "They Fought For Each Other" by Kelly Kennedy - talk about soul-crushing. Don't read it in public.

  22. A quick video - as always, everything I say may be wrong.
  23. The black tick marks are minutes. Have fun!
  24. Yeah, once I sat back and ran the scenarios through what's left of my grey matter, it made sense.
