  1. Is your EGI fully aligned?
  2. Depending on your setup, you might find that placing the trim commands on a hat switch (with or without a modifier key) will make your flying experience much more manageable and enjoyable.
  3. You said: "I assume I set it up for level flight with the joystick and press trim." From that statement, it seems as though you might possibly be pressing the T/O TRIM button and expecting it to trim the aircraft to its current state.
  4. Master Mode switch is in the HOTAS section. The actual switch is on the joystick, top front right.
  5. Now your A-10 sounds like an F-15.
  6. On the TAD page, OSB 2-5 are TAD profile "quick keys". Each loads the set of TAD elements defined for that profile on the TAD profile control page (OSB 1). There, you can edit existing profiles and create new ones. - On the TAD profile control page, select the profile to edit (OSB 19/20) *OR* - Create a new profile - type name on UFC (up to 4 characters) , enter name (OSB 18), save (OSB 3) - Open the profile settings page (OSB 17) - Select element/symbology (OSB 19/20) - Select functionality (OSB 18) - Save profile (OSB 3) You may save up to nine profiles. When there are nine profiles in memory, OSB 18 will display the message "DB FULL". Suppose you have created a new profile and want to place it on one of the "quick keys": - Press and hold any profile key (OSB 2-5) for ~2 seconds until TAD screen clears and "TAD DISPLAY PROGRAM" appears - Select profile to move to quick key (OSB 6-9 and 16-20) - Select quick key you want to move the profile to (OSB 2-5) Looking at the default profiles, I assume "LOFF" means "waypoint lines off" and "ACT" means "active flight plan only"
  7. Yup! Aircraft rudder operation can seem counter-intuitive, but most people who have a problem with it aren't thinking about it the right way. Don't think of it as turning the nose wheel, like a steering wheel or bicycle handlebars. Think of it as what it really is - turning the rudder. Tool around on the ramp/taxiways for a bit and it'll feel natural in no time.
  8. One Arma player to another - the reflex is understandable.
  9. In most aircraft, they do. However, in a ground-attack aircraft such as the A-10, an acute awareness of the plane's (or rather, the gun's) orientation relative to the direction of travel is more important.
  10. ALT/HDG mode corrects for crosswind, and will attempt to maintain your direction of travel. Maybe it would be better labeled ALT/TRK?
  11. PATH mode is "pitch" mode. Use it to maintain your flight path. It can't be used to hold a bank/turn. From level flight: - Roll to desired bank angle - Engage EAC in ALT mode (LAAP switch in down position) http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/EAC_-_Autopilot_system_explained
  12. And you will until you set the LED state to either full on or full off.
  13. It sounds like the stick is bound to keyboard commands and not axes.
  14. Once you master zero-vis, give this one a try.
  15. Just grab these handy keyboard charts made by our own PeterP: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1842249&postcount=4
  16. Drop the attitude. I read the entire thread. I also understand the topic creator's confusion regarding everyone discussing something unrelated to the topic. I think you are reading the situation incorrectly. TC didn't ask why DCS wasn't detecting XFire, he was asking why XFire wasn't detecting DCS. If he were asking about Crossfire, the question would be "Does anyone know how to get DCS World to detect Crossfire?" I have been using Crossfire for years. I have never used "XFire" as an abbreviation for it, and don't ever recall seeing anyone else use it either.
  17. You are aware that he's the topic creator and that he's not asking about Crossfire, right?
  18. All of those Hornets buzzing around created a truly hostile work environment! So upset that I don't have a track or Tacview file.
  19. Open map (F10), click on an airfield, open free camera (F11).
  20. Just so there is no confusion, Notepad++ is a program you can download from here: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/. Using regular old MS Notepad for this is not recommended, as it can corrupt the formatting of the file.
