Except that's not at all true. In my headset, if something is close to my face, my eyes are crossed. That's how binocular vision works, and how we see things in 3D, whether IRL or in VR.
Yeah, seems they did not take the perspective change into account?
Since the HUD is focused at infinity, moving back away from it will reduce the apparent size of the HUD frame relative to the projection, so you will see less of the projection. Seems like an easy fix, which means it probably isn't. I dunno.
What I'm saying is that there are people reporting all possible states (perfect in VR, useless in VR, perfect in 2D, useless in 2D, everything in-between). If all are to be believed, then there must be a way to achieve positive results.
Pretty sure our resident crew chiefs have confirmed that's the way it is? Or maybe the behavior you are describing is more pronounced. There are a lot of posts here regarding HUD/cockpit scaling, in 2D and in VR, with comments covering the spectrum of "100% accurate/realistic" to "completely wrong." That indicates to me that there is a lot of variation in the way we are all configuring our systems and settings. I just got all of my stuff unpacked and set up this week, after six long months of moving/renovating, so I hope to start sorting through this issue for myself soon.
I found it odd that after being told "all friendlies are to the North" of the target, they did a South-to-North run-in. Clearly the guys on the ground had no problem with it, but...?
Thanks for this, Pac-Man! I had found that stopping a profile by right-clicking the app in the toolbar and selecting "close window" would usually work, but not always. Good to learn why this is happening and very happy for a solution. Rep inbound.
Just ordered a second 10cm extension for versatility.
Sahaj's extensions increase the height of the stick by the stated extension length only. There are no other adapters/collars/etc. that add/remove extra length.
*edit*
After further review, it seems that the stated length of the extension includes the ~1cm threaded section. A 10cm extension will then, for example, add ~9cm to the overall height of the stick.
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! I purchased my license a few years ago, but I think I'll grab a few for my sim-pals. Thanks for this essential flight sim tool!
It's not clear if you are aware of this, but the DCSW manual can be found in your Eagle Dynamics\DCS World*\Doc folder.
*may vary according to version you are running
Yup. I used to be one of those people, until one topic where it was all discussed quite thoroughly. IIRC, the upshot was that lasing for too long can cause short bombs, but only when deployed by faster/higher airframes. The A-10's typical airspeed and altitude during GBU deployment (or anytime, really) are simply too low for this to be a problem.
I have found, at least here in the A-10C forum, the vast majority of posters to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. Don't be shy, post away!
