  1. Don't forget, that's a two-way street! Speed is life.
  2. Already reported: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153951
  3. Yes, when you select a store in the DSMS page, you are creating a new manual profile with default settings. Select your saved profiles using DMS left/right with HUD as SOI, as BaconSarnie mentioned.
  4. Yup! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=112706
  5. I assume you are being facetious, but IIRC, that pic is of something along the lines of a cockpit familiarization/basic switchology class.
  6. If you have valid A-10C key, you are good to go.
  7. Nothing is standalone anymore. It is a modular system now, with DCS World being the framework within which everything runs. Install DCS World, then install the A-10C module.
  8. Reported: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147952
  9. Not sure if they are pushing it to Steam, but if they are: right click game in library select properties click betas tab opt into beta If not, just do a parallel install: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/beta/
  10. Huh? Anyway, there are folks out there flying the A-10C module with lesser sticks than the X-55, so take the on-topic answers/advice and forget the rest. Good luck, have fun!
  11. I'm getting all sorts of bizarre results now. With wind set to 300 degrees (which makes RWY 31 upwind - ME wind direction is "to", not "from") I can get aircraft to use 31 only if I set the wind speed high enough for it to make no sense for them to use it in the first place. If I set wind speed to 3m/s, they will use 13 as they rightly should. If I set it to 30m/s, they will use 31 and drag tail through a few thousand meters of ocean before they rotate. I need to approach this scientifically and with more caffeine tomorrow.
  12. Just tested in 1.5. They actually take the first turn onto the runway and do not backtaxi, so they are using even less runway than in my diagram.
  13. I suspect the issue is AI not backtaxiing when using RWY 13.
  14. It sounds as though you are in ALT/HDG mode, not ALT mode. As always, supplying a track of the problem would help greatly in diagnosing it.
  15. I still don't fully understand the maneuver you are describing. Particularly the "flying backward" part.
  16. Triangulation isn't about finding a triangle, it's about finding a point. The triangle is merely a by-product and of no real significance in and of itself. At any rate, this horse is thoroughly beaten.
  17. The key is to find the intersection of the two line segments, which is how triangulation works. All I have done in my previous posts is illustrate the topic being discussed. I just don't see the point (no pun) of his post.
  18. I'm not sure what it is you are trying to say. The reason five points are used is because that's how the process being discussed works.
  19. Actually, you are using four points to create two line segments, the intersection of which is the (fifth) point of interest.
  20. Triangles are not 3-dimensional shapes.
  21. The HOTAS Warthog is indeed "plug and play", but as you have noticed the trim hat is mapped to viewpoint by default. You can remap this in the DCS control menu. First, delete all of the "view" assignments. Navigate to the A-10C Sim "View" page, scroll down to the view functions, click on each view assignment to highlight, then click the "Clear" button to remove it. Next, add your trim assignments. Navigate to the A-10C Sim "HOTAS" page, scroll down to the trim functions, double-click an assignment to bring up the assignment dialog, actuate the appropriate key/button (in the case of the pictured example, trim hat left) and the assignment will appear in the "Key/Button" field. Click "OK", Repeat as necessary.
