:) Good night! Any chance for a way to save the IPs of the servers? Maybe like a history drop down list? Maybe the servers could broadcast their name on the side of the IP or where the number of clients is shown? It would be nice and bring things together.

Many ideas can be imported from old BF missions it's true but for example they are not available anywhere afaik. That is one part. Secondly The small app and web-based active map were huge pluses in BF. I can understand that maybe the BF team simply wants to keep most of the things for them selves for various reasons... objectively. But. The fact is that DCS World MP community needs tools, powerful and simple to use tools. Sure a "talented" mission builder can do miracles but talented mission builders are very few (I'm not one of them) and the MP will stagnate if breakthroughs are "locked" away. If people can remember the virtual wars in IL-2 Forgotten Battles... all of them evolved from simple tools that some people made and others improved upon after the MP community started to extensively use. Imagine what a system like BF scripted mission would do if it will be implemented on all serious servers. Airquake will reduce in predominance, WW2, Corea, Vietnam, Cold War, Modern scenarios will all run in parallel and develop faster. I imagine an app like BF has but maybe with tabs to connect to different servers. Maybe even be integrated with Simple Radio and maybe at some point becomes the de facto launcher of DCS and be integrated officially. I don't know... I feel like time is wasted by waiting other people to develop from scratch other BF concepts without importing as much as possible from originals. my humble opinion...

Yup, but starting from a "SDK" is better than from scratch :)
-
Yes... I was thinking too if such move would benefit community. Like a SDK for hosting such campaigns.

Both serials are unbind from my account since 06.06.2015 and BS1 was never installed on my current Windows 10. Same for the upgrade obviously. So there is no trace in my registry of the 2 serials. Still... I am offered the upgrade. Must be something else I think.

Any chance to make this mod Integrity Check compatible? It seems that entry.lua somehow makes some call to dcs_manifest.x86_64 from Combined Arms because it shows as failing the IC as it would have a "dcs_manifest.x86_64" itself. EDIT It works by simply deleting Enry.lua! LOL. It seems now is not necessary anymore!

I was expecting you guys to go in the direction of multiple servers rather than fewer public events. Is it because of trolls?

In \Saved Games\DCS\Config\View folder server.lua and snapviews.lua. Delete them or edit them in notepad++ by carefully removing UH1H sections. This is safest way to do it by inserting --[[ at the start of a section and then ]] at the end of it. With [[ ... ]] you encapsulate a section and with -- you disable it.Hence --[[ ... ]] . The sign -- by it's own disables just one line so you need to encapsulate a section to avoid adding -- to all lines in it. example before: example after: Most probably you were using the so called realistic neck mod...

Any update? :) Does the VTB and VTH implementation of RAZBAM is cloing on the finish?

I want to add to this another small thing. I had BS1 (first Black Shark) Then I had the upgrade. After a while I got the full DCS BS 2 module at a sale so I removed DCS BS 2 upgrade and installed BS 2 "stand alone" It worked no problem. But! I don't have BS2 upgrade anymore linked to my account but It seems DCS W knows I have the DVD of BS1 so it keeps suggesting in the "Modules" from module manager the DCS BS2 upgrade. Is not a big issue but since the actual BS 2 upgrade isn't even available for sale anymore... maybe it should be removed altogether from there because is annoying a bit to keep seeing it for people that actually bought BS1, BS2 Upgrade and BS2 stand alone. I attach 2 pictures so it is clear what I mean:

you can rename the mods so they are placed together. Say mod1 and mod2 Mod1 is on top of mod 2 so you ad an 11 and 12 in front of them I like how OvGME doesn't rearange mods after activating them like JSGME... it was messy the way JSGME was doing it. edit @sedenion. A small "issue". If the folder for mods is empty on local machine when you try to connect to a repository the "query" option is grayed out/unavailable. As soon as you put something in that folder the function to query repositories becomes available. Not a big issue... most of people have mods in that folder but I had a friend that was just waiting all clean for me to finish uploading the mods on squad server... and we scratched out heads 2 days wondering why for me and another buddy works but for him not. (don't tell me it is in the manual... please :) )

Thanks for the tip Drakoz! I tried and it worked with these settings: I think I need to tune a bit more the forces (the percentages) because it seems too choppy. But with the tics on those 2 items the axes are now fine.

Yo need to code that kneeboard I think to show multiple textures and infos like Huey/Mi-8/Mig 15, etc. I guess is still WIP.

FM - vertical speed in turns. Neutral pedal v slight input.
zaelu replied to Frusheen's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
This reliance on pilots impressions is very dangerous. Don't believe me... believe the guru of FM of ED https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2847042&postcount=53 It annoys me a bit to see the appeal at emotions some devs do with this "6 pilots tested our plane and they said we are awesome... and forgot to check if the flaps and gear do something to FM". It makes them confident when they should doubt. You can see confidence oozing out of their posts and that scares me. "Oh is the SAS doing magic!" There is no magic in science. A problem that is not admitted have almost zero chance to be resolved. This is dangerous like being confident you can finally ride to the max a motorcycle and crashing in the first turn. I am an arm chair DCS pilot only. I could fly decently Ka-50 when UH1H came out and it was difficult... it was tuned, tweaked and still needs tweaking but I can fly it now without any stress and feels OK. Mi-8 was easier for me... it was more close to BST home I think, it has more automations and they had a lot of engineers to correct pilots "impressions" (As Yo-Yo said). I can fly Mi-8 good. But this little bird? Feels the oddest and unnatural of all in DCS. To take off you don't touch cyclic! If you touch it you die. I have a FFB stick and obviously without FFB implemented yet it stays limp out of center. When I take off vertically I need to make sure the stick is 100% centered. No skill no nothing. Stick centered, a bit of rudder as she goes and pull pull pull... It would be a BF like helicopter with more buttons if it wouldn't go haywire on different regimes. They say is nimble because is light. It also is underpowered I think... It shouldn't try to kill you that easy. One more thing on pilots. They are not gamers. Remember the story with the Mirage 3 test pilot that after some inconclusive talking with engineers finally in one flight decided to open the airbrakes in supersonic mode? He almost hit the HUD with the face. What a gamer would do do in first 30 seconds of first flight? Go supersonic then drop the gear because he want to land on a cloud! What a "Pilot tested FM" will do? Nothing! No pilot in his right mind would drop the gear in supersonic. -
Thanks! Will wait. Returning to OvGME. I disabled my 11GB worth of mods and did a repair and it found nothing to repair. Strange thing.

What are its limits?
-
I will test it sedenion. Thank you for your time! Apropos, Are these two mods compatible/necessary with latest patch? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170566 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170524 in patch notes they say:
-
These days... a rumor is worth its weight in gold. Sithspawn's post is a rumor in itself I'd say :D
-
I see... It seems it is a bit of a problem then... because as it is now the game will always redownload good files thinking they are compromised although they were restored from backup. I don't know exactly how big last patch was officially but for me it downloaded 4GB. And made a backup folder of 6.5GB. It took me 2 days to update... adsl SFR :)
-
You don't need to align them. Snapviews.lua and server.lua from User folder "overrides" the settings from snapviewsdefaul.lua and server.lua from DCS folder. But the modules that have separated view.lua files (mig21 included) if you add sections for them... they are ignored. Basically for A-10C works, for Mig21 doesn't.
-
It seems is ignored now by the game.
-
@len62 I don't think so... the old originals are deleted. Looking through the backup 001 folder I've seen only files modified by my known mods... but I didn't checked them one by one. I deleted them because I need space. I will make checks by activating and deactivating few times the mods then doing a repair and see if something happens. @sedenion. True, but normally the creation date stays the same after the file is moved around few folders, isn't it?

If you go to a doctor with a problem like you described and he tells you just to "don't do that" then go to a different doctor. This is a case of believing you know what the other say although you didn't walk in his shoes ever, not even tried to imagine how it is. I agree that people with 3 Screens (which are not a majority just to be noted) should have the ability to see just as fine as people with one single monitor... but the reality is the situation now is just reversed not solved. You see... prior to introducing the views.lua files in IC they had to enter a new value in their own lua like the people with one single monitor have to do it now... and fail IC. As I said I use an axis, I can stop my axis roughly at where I wanted it in the first time. For me is problem solved. But there are people that use keys and will remain with this small (no big... we don't exaggerate) issue. And they shouldn't have to. There are solutions for this like BST has in Special options Tab. With something like that everybody would be happy. You said above that maybe those files were put in IC basket because they might allow some exploits. Yes! They do and is good they are finally placed there. One could make his cockpit sty outside o the plane or/and allow moving outside the plane/cockpit for several meters if he wants. We don't need that in multiplayer. But if one wishes not for more but for less than is allowed... he should have the ability to do it without failing IC, that's all. @Art-J Try to do what I did for my joystick axis with you TIR axis that is assigned for zooming.

Is the folder where DCS puts files that he finds modified. It is created (the number at the end is added incrementally) if necessary when you do an update or repair to DCS. So the fact that he founded 6.5GB of modified files although I disabled the mods so all should have been back to original means something went wrong at restoring before update. I will investigate more so I will eliminate any mistake from my par.
-
Hello sedenion, not that I want to alarm you or anything but I observed that although I disabled all mods before updating I still got 6.5GB of files moved by the updater in Backup001 folder. I am not sure what happened... I will try to test more using repair after some activation/deactivation of mods.
