  1. interesting to think if you could get this to relate directly to the attitude of the aircraft from game ie: lofc and dcs bs thru lua. basically the motor/servo controllers just need an input to control the position this could be achieved with an anologue output from the pc, or better still a direct digital value. i am thinking also the game data eventually sent would need to be a mix of, inertia and attitude, slip angle and speed. so maybe some maths to be done in between game and output, value scaling and expressions of some sort. those with lua experience please advise. i have access to some stuff like this and it just hit me, it could be done if we can work out how to get the data from game lua to output value say 0-10v or 4-20ma ? just a single axis like pitch would be fine to start with. lets say then to start. we take the pitch angle of the aircraft and export it to another app. already done in mnemonics lovp guauges, so tick that off. and guys build gauges that move so the output side is possible :) tick that off too. now to convert the lua data to an output value for the controller? i guess it now depends if its variable speed motors or servo drives, a pretty big difference, servo being precise and the vf not so good, speed control yes, positioning not so good. with a reduction gearbox it may give satisfactory performance. i made a mini 2 axis motion platform years ago with just some rc radio gear, using servo's and operated the transmitter to make it move. this time its just controlled thru lua, if we can get the data to the servo's i will build a mini one. i remember now seeing a guy with a model plane next to his pc mimic-ing his flight sim just like i describe above, so it can be done. edit: i see its a phidget i want. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvIVEaPqCtE&NR=1
  2. saw this after following another thread to simware, most impressive. http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp_product_details&pid=1844
  3. if you are right frost1e the well done identifying exactly when it occurs. most frustrating to get in game and have no tir. just another issue with the options menu, like the aspect ratio one. these two items would be high on my 1.13 patch list :)
  4. welcome to the world of waiting for spares :D started off on the same type heli myself, b4 this i had done many years of simlated rc heli flight on a program called realflight g2, i highly recommend spending some rc sim time to hone your skills. good luck with it, is good fun once you get confident:thumbup:.
  5. oh well a bit late for xmas although better late than never. the last of the parts arrived today. so my world stopped and a computer was born: e6850 c2d p5n32-e-sli 4gig ddr2 6400 c4 xms2 2x msi 8800 ultra oc antec quattro 1000w antec 1080 amg tower sata hdd sata dvdrw had to modify the fan shroud on the lower card as it interfered with my case to motherboard connectors not allowing the second card to seat. it also blocks my extra usb and firewire connections but i can live with that. so off with the fan cover and out with the hack saw, drill and file :) it worked out nicely and now it all fits in, if only just. after some nervous moments modding one of the cards today and some basic tests tonight i have to say its rather impressive, then i found how to turn the sli on :D
  6. better still "no sh_t off no can't" , now thats oz :megalol: and just the way i like em:thumbup: my girl can give as good as she gets. thats why i liked her in the first place. treats me like a king and lets me think i run the show :)
  7. even my forum name can do 3 G's.:smartass: seriously, great to hear info from actual fighter pilots, can only imagine what its like to pilot these things in RL with all the physical and mental demands, thanks for sharing your experience.
  8. ok so its wing tip smoke you want to keep, and its an explosion fps tweak/mod you need. i think its all @ lockonfiles but it seems to be down. surely someone else can help with this, or give a link. is it thru modman, or is it included in that fps v2 collection? i am not sure, sorry it has been too long :) someone will have the info you need, soon i hope, come on team...
  9. guys this is some great work, keep the progress pics coming, they are very inspiring.
  10. sounds like you want all gauges/instruments shown on the middle screen. sorry, i'm not able to help more. i had system lockups at anything higher than about 180 from memory. can u post pics for a better understanding of the problem?
  11. classic thread, my wife is sweet with it all, she does her thing i do mine. by no means are we rich, not even well off, but never get told no if i want something new, i would have trouble dealing with that. we both work hard so why not enjoy it now and then, she's getting better but i usually have to tell her to buy something she likes, so hows that for a turn up for the books. as others have said, there's a lot worse you could be doing than gaming with mates online. sure it can be expensive, but its all relative. if they quiz you about a pc part etc, remind them that last week she had her hair done, and 2moro its off to get the nails fixed that only need fixing because she got them done in the first place etc etc, hehe.
  12. the dx9 build for the next producers notes, is that the one you mean :) ten points for persistence weta43
  13. done. full thread here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=17306&highlight=triplehead2go and here are the pics, (also replaced them back into the original thread.) the end result after editing camera view angle limit in view.lua (20.0,175.0) this and all subsequent images are after editing server.lua camera angle limits (180,-120,90) sorry for the hotas in the way. (note:the last/final image has an increased horizontal limit of 200 providing excellent rear vision) looking at the throttle etc out the left, much improved and obviously out to the right this i liked, server lua (180,-120,90) this i liked even more, note: increased the horizontal limit to 200 (200,-120,90) full thread here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=17306&highlight=triplehead2go
  14. let me refresh my memory and i will help you. edit: unfortunately the images have been lost, i will try to find them but no promises :) my fault too :( in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=17306&highlight=triplehead+zoom&page=2 read post #14 for tekateka's informative description of the issue and the settings you desire are in the following few posts, i think #16 is the one with all the images that are missing but the figures you desire are in there. unfortunately i don't have it setup at this time. also i think online play is still dependent on the servers config and i recall another limitation if you fly the new frog su25t. these are figures i had for the eagle f-15 1. edit camera view angle limit in view.lua (20.0,175.0) 2. edit server.lua camera angle limits (180,-120,90) this i liked even more, note: increased the horizontal limit to 200 (200,-120,90) hope that helps, will try to resurrect the images, its half a story without them. also i think you are asking for a explosion/smoke fps tweak, anyone? edit: the pics have been located and are now uploaded. i will edit the original thread to point to the new locations. might have to guess what was where but should work out ok so check the original thread again and hopefully the pics will be there :) , soon. what a far car round :D
  15. grandsurf: i must say i like your setups:thumbup:
  16. i have been confronted with this issue and am still trying to find an ideal solution. i like the idea of reversing the axis and mounting the trackir behind:thumbup: my proj screen is 3m across, and vertically just shy of the ceiling and a around 30cm to desk height. proj mounted up hi behind me. 1. i tried having the track ir hanging on a wire ,mounted horizontally approx 1m in front of the screen and above the eye line so it was not in the way of the image, this was somewhat bad for performance as the ir signal to and from the trackir got interfered with by the projectors light beam, as they intersected one another. 2. so i have currently settled for mounting the trackir below the screen, out of the light beam, and in turn i have basically angled the reflector up on my hat to compensate for the trackir low mounting position, works well, but not ideal. i think the first method would work better if the ir source was not from the trackir relying on reflection, so the new ir led device might work better in that case, think i will just make one and give it ago. grandsurf: i must say i like your setup:thumbup:
  17. DPS you've done it again
  18. good one, thanks for sharing. it really is quite impressive.
  19. a interesting read this thread, it has visualized what i have struggled to understand in the past. exploits, thanks for the vids, fingers crossed for the patch.:music_whistling:
  20. great picks, looking good. you have done well
  21. yes, sounds like onboard video with shared memory. looks like a reasonably modern system, are we talking laptop or tower pc? does the computer have a videocard slot, such as pci-e or agp ? if so you might be able to disable the onboard video and buy a better card, like a nice new 8800gt. if its a laptop then maybe a modified driver depending on chipset. check your system specs, for what model videocard, eg:7300gs or similar. does it play other games with no problems. i have played lockon on a laptop with a lot lower specs than this, don't give up just yet. more info please.
  22. i tried in vain to get those gauges working, well done.
  23. wonderful, thankyou.
  24. forget your friends and leave your job :)
  25. just habit i guess when running servers i always put a password. in this case it does seem like overkill. as for hyperlobby, is there a good tutorial out there for it? am sure i have seen one ages ago, but it escapes me. disregard above, i just downloaded latest version 3.9.111 and it has lots of info included. the questions keep coming: do all players get the settings from the server?, such as graphic details and view restrictions configured in the servers own gui options menu. sorry, i have much to learn.
