  1. I've always had HDR enabled. Haven't event tried the sim with HDR disabled. Actually don't even know what HDR means or how it affects the sim. :) More eye candy? I don't play other games with my "Sim PC", so Catalyst 11.6 is kinda OK. But do you think I should update the drivers and disable HDR? I have updated the drivers a few times but always went back to 11.6 because of flashing white boxes.
  2. With Catalyst 11.6 there won't be flashing boxes, but it's kinda PIA to use an ancient driver version like that if you wanna play new games. BTW, in my system there is an older version of atiumd64.dll as well. I'm not sure which version comes with 11.6 drivers (or which version is currently used with 11.6), or whether the version/dll has something to do with white boxes at all.
  3. With stick I have: Deadzone: 0 Saturation X: 100 Saturation Y: 100 Curvature: 12 Curvature is adjusted mainly because of easier air to air refuel. I've also adjusted Throttle a bit, see this message: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1330608&postcount=83 EDIT: I Forgot to mention my Saitek Combat Pedals. I have Rudder Curvature of 30. Wheel brakes are with default settings.
  4. I have Catalyst 11.6 installed, and have this version (attached) of atiumd64.dll. atiumd64 - Copy.zip
  5. Do you know the Snap Views -feature?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kGqxi2s76M http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Snap_views
  6. sotosev, I have noticed that as well: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1351036&postcount=23
  7. Just wanted to say that upgrading is not necessarily pure "plug'n'play". You might need some tweaking afterwards.
  8. I upgraded my Win7 to Win8. Had some trouble afterwards. Could not run A-10C without some tweaking. For example, problems with Helios and TrackIR. Also, Windows decided to rearrange my display settings (three screens). But managed to get everything OK eventually.
  9. BTW, as a newbie when I was going to land to Vaziani for the first time my frequency was correct but I landed to the other airport close to Vaziani because it had brighter lights or something like that. :music_whistling:
  10. Some opinions of aerobraking in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1546988#post1546988
  11. I have noticed that too. I think that no matter what hotas or stick you have, you cannot "fine tune" trim.
  12. I normally just take the bearing given by the tower and go to CDU NAV DIVERT -page and choose the airport. TAD shows the distance, approx.
  13. Yes. You're right.
  14. OMG! 66 pages! :book:
  15. Did you find this old thread?: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1089008#post1089008
  16. One tip. If you are going to land and want to maintain an optimal glideslope, just remember this rule: 300 feet per nautical mile. So, if you are 10 miles away from the airport make sure your altimeter shows about 3000 feet (300ft x 10(nm) = 3000ft) AGL. And when you are within 5 miles from the airport, 1500 AGL (300ft x 5(nm) = 1500). 10nm - 3000ft 9nm - 2700ft 8nm - 2400ft 7nm - 2100ft 6nm - 1800ft 5nm - 1500ft 4nm - 1200ft 3nm - 900ft 2nm - 600ft 1nm - 300ft 0nm - 0ft :joystick::D
  17. I bought my pedals almost 1½ years ago and installed the drivers and software available that time. I haven't updated them since. I'm not at my sim computer right now, so cannot tell the version of drivers.
  18. Yes. http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/DCS_A-10C_Guides,_Tutorials_and_Reference_Documents#Official_Resources Check out the Navigation System Tutorials
  19. A well-known problem, AFAIK: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1583186#post1583186
  20. Rather old video, but anyway: IOZ18GNPI-c
  21. The range of the laser is pretty limited though. I think that some 8 nm is the limit.
  22. That might be a hardware problem. Bad wire/contact/component inside the throttle?
  23. I have Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs too. Their LED brightness can be controlled without Target Software. You just install the drivers which include the Control Panel of MFDs. Control Panel has a slider for LED intensity.
  24. Do you think that Target software should be kept installed on your PC to enable Throttle to "remember" the adjusted LED brightness level? I'd like to dim the LEDs a bit, but I don't want to install Target software to my Sim PC. Instead, my plan was to install Target to my laptop, connect Throttle to my laptop and "program" the LED brightness level, which hopefully would be permanent with also with my Sim PC without Target.
  25. The center-command of TIR is by default one of the keyboard function keys, F??. Cannot remember exactly because I have remapped it to my mouse. But you can see and tweak it from the TIR settings.
