  1. Is TIR6 out? I still have TIR5... Anyway, just sit comfortably and (re)center the TIR once in a while. It should fix the situation.
  2. I've never installed the Target software myself, but I think some time ago some forum member mentioned that you can install Target, adjust the LED brightness level of the throttle, and then just uninstall Target. And the adjusted LED brightness level remains. Is that true or not?
  3. Once after updating the standalone version of A-10C I had the same problem; gauges didn't work. The cure was that I opened the Helios Profile Editor, added the interface and refreshed the A-10C Setup Install Path. Then I opened my working Helios Profile and saved it with a new name. I activated the new one and everything was OK after that. I hope you'll get your profile working OK as well.
  4. You can slave TGP to the steerpoint by China Hat Aft Long. Steerpoint is your next waypoint, coloured yellow. Other waypoints are green. Normally, the automatic steerpoint advancement is enabled. So, if you pass the current steerpoint, the system automatically changes your steerpoint to the next waypoint. This may be a bit confusing if you for example circle around your target. You can disable the automatic steerpoint advancement from CDU Flight Plan Page (change from AUTO to MANUAL).
  5. All you need is the valid/legal serial number.
  6. It will be OK if you understand that you cannot master all the elements in a fortnight. Considerable amount of patience is needed. "I want it all, I want it NOW" -attitude is not advisable.
  7. Read thru the DCS A-10C Quickstart Guide. Watch A-10C Wiki tutorials, documents and videos: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/DCS:_A-10C_Training_Supplements Read the DCS A-10C Flight Manual. Go thru the training missions. Visit ED Forums every day and read the threads.
  8. BTW, while using a cheap computer keyboard I noticed that those NVG Brightness Up/Down keyboard combinations seemed to be too much for the keyboard (non-NKRO) to handle. So I assigned them to my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Joystick (using the Pinky Lever as a modifier). That was an easy workaround. So, if someone has troubles changing the NVG intensity, it might just be your keyboard.
  9. I have noticed with my Saitek pedals that if I release the brakes "too quickly", they don't always go back to zero. You can clearly see that by activating the controls indicator of DCS A-10C (RCtrl + Enter). However, if I go to Windows Game Controllers and see the brake axis, they always seem to go back to zero. Even if I release the brakes very quickly. So, especially with takeoff, I usually release the brakes rather gently. Some other forum members confirmed that phenomenon, so it was not only me. These experiences are from standalone versions of DSC A-10C. Haven't installed DSC World version yet.
  10. About a year ago I used to train both APU- and Windmill Restarts. I just did all the things mentioned in the Manual (Emergency Procedures). I also used the IGN-switch. No problem at all. Successfull restarts every time. Maybe with latest versions (= DCS World) things have changed? Dunno.
  11. Frogisis, is it possible that you might have had speedbrakes activated? I think speedbrakes disable PAC. Might be something to do with update anyway. Don't know because I'm still running standalone v.1.1.1.1.
  12. I actually noticed (from Peter22's capture) that the snowy mountains were the background. Maybe I won't see snowy mountains so often, but clouds are pretty much around all the time. Still haven't had the feeling of insufficient HUD intensity. Or maybe I monitor the gauges if I cannot see the HUD? Cannot be sure.
  13. The green HUD in your screen capture actually looks a bit faded. But, on the other hand, I think I have never felt any need to increase the HUD intensity with INTEN-rocker. I have only decreased the intensity (for example while landing, as I already mentioned before).
  14. Yes. The INTEN-rocker. For example, while landing, it is easier to see the runway if you decrease the intensity of HUD. BTW, with Night Vision Goggles I always use the green DAY-mode. Looks much better than the amber NIGHT-mode.
  15. DCS A-10C maybe? If it is, there is actually no radar, maybe you mean the RWR? Don't know s***t about TH2GO, but with Helios/Extended Desktop with Windows 7, I can export RWR easily to another screen.
  16. http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafcms/mediafiles/148BADA1_5056_A318_A810055FC8ED491D.pdf http://www.vusaf.org/amwtc/97amw/KC-135/Altus%20KC-135%20and%20C-17%20AIR%20REFUELING%20GUIDE.pdf :)
  17. Some helpful people have also published various ground charts/airfield diagrams. You can print them and take advantage of the information. One of them here: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=37&file=1214 BTW, when it comes to for example Batumi (and perhaps other airfields as well), I've seen some different bearings, e.g. it may be RWY 12 or RWY 13. But it must be somewhere between 119 and 131 degrees anyway. And the orientation of the magnetic fields change anyway all the time. So be prepared to see some inaccuracies with these charts. :)
  18. If you actually see you're getting too close or too far away, you are already too late with your corrections, because of the delay. You have to anticipate. It's like a sense/instinct that you're getting for example a bit too slow soon, and you have to correct that in advance. Kinda hard to explain, but I think you know what I mean. I would say for a month. :) And yes, I have tweaked the curvature too, both throttle and stick. And yes, train formation flying. It helps you to learn adjust your speed with other aircraft, subconsciously and automatically.
  19. [off-topic] Throttle Pinky Switch (External Lights) really is more loose compared with other throttle switches. But I cannot see any problem with that. I'm pretty sure it is meant to be that way on purpose. [/off-topic]
  20. Thanks for clarification, BigfootMSR!
  21. I'm a bit confused with all this deactivation/uninstall stuff with DCS World. I'm still running the standalone v1.1.1.1. If I decide to eventually install the DCS World + A-10C Module, can I keep my current standalone v.1.1.1.1 install intact and working (as a backup if something goes fubar with DCS World version)? Do I need to deactivate? Because instructions say that uninstall previous versions (= does that mean only DCS World Modules, not standalone?) and deactivate: I have a working Helios setup. Can I just copy the .lua-files to DCS World? I have to give Helios software the new path for DSC World? I think I have to create my keyboard and HOTAS button configurations from scratch anyway, because too many changes compared with v1.1.1.1.
  22. Actually, I have i7 2600K as well, overclocked to modest 4.4 GHz :)
  23. Overclock your CPU. :) BTW, the biggest problem I have noticed with Helios/DCS A-10C is that track replays will be completely f**ed up if you use Helios (= manipulate switches during the flight). Helios inputs won't be recorded. At least with standalone v1.1.1.1. Haven't tried with DCS World yet.
  24. And this: :smilewink:
