    Bombing - tips

Is it just me, or is bombing the old-fashioned way really hard? I have setup a small test area with ton of compounds to bomb. I'm diving at a 45 degree angle and releasing anywhere between 300-2000m. I very rarely manage to hit what I'm aiming at. I'm using a load of different aircraft and bombs, mostly those without modern targetting systems (ww2, Hawk, Albatros, and Mig-21). What kind of accuracy would a poorly trained pilot acheive? 50m @ 500m? Are there any good test maps that track accuracy?
  3. probad lived up to his name.
  4. I think weekly pictures of cobras is a great idea.
  5. Thanks for posting the solution.
  6. AI uses simplified flight models; this would probalby explain your problem. RAM up!
  7. I totally agree with this. Flying the Mi-8, navigating, managing the weapons, fuel, tuning radios and becons, spotting targets, searching for air threats... Then we have real life things going on, too. I might need to speak to the wife, answer a phone call. There are far too many things for one person to do in an Mi-8. The only exception to this is a pre-made mission that you are playing again and again with all the units in the same place. Multicrew is essential for the Mi-8. Keep the negative attitudes for the playground, please. We're all here to have fun, not to feel insulted about our tastes.
  8. It will come, Cibit. I can feel it.
  9. I thought multicrew was alway their intention once ED had gotten it finalized. It will come.
  10. Steeper dive might help.
  11. Assuming you are a client, you're probably running out of memory. I have the same problem as I only have 8 gigs of ram. An SSD will help things load faster. More memory will stop you freezing / crashing.
  12. Watch the replay with nvgs
  13. Yes. They are upgrading the fan in the cockpit with the latest in Russia military cooling power. The pilot will be 20~30% cooler. Can't wait.
  14. The most significant improvement I made in my flying came from oil rigs. I had an air start misson near an oil rig. I would spend an hour or more just hovering, landing, and taking off. After that, I was a much better pilot.
  15. A physical rudder definitely helps. If you're using twist joystick, it's almost impossible.
  16. I agree that combat vs ai ground units is off, but I'd expect a long wait for any significant changes. If you're willing to wait a year, this might be good advice. Combat is definitely still enjoyable.
  17. HOTAS, pedals, and TrackIr. Pedals are especially important for helis. You might get away with none in the Ka-50 due to the autopilot, but all of the others need them. Don't wait for anything. Now is a good time to start learning the basics. It'll take a while for you to become comfortable.
  18. This is actually a very hard question. The Ka-50 is the easiest to fly, and the most powerful, but it has the most complex systems. You will have a lot of trouble with the autopilot at the start. The Huey is really simple. Flying can be a little tricky, but all the systems are really easy to manage. The Mi-8 has tons of buttons, but once you're up in the air, it is really smooth. It's really heavy, so you need to predict its movements. The Gazelle is really twitchy. If you're good at small stick movements, its actually quite easy to control. TBH - they are all amazing modules. Hard to choose just one.
  19. Time on stick is key. After a lot of hours, you can predict how it will react to your inputs in most situations. Once you get to this point, you'll be controlling the helo and it will no longer be controlling you.
  20. The Tiger release is probably a factor. Patience brings great rewards.
  21. Very impressive. You definitely deserve more applicants.
  22. This. Mi-24 is our next best hope.
  23. This question still stands.
  24. I'm guessing it's just a long freeze. It is very annoying.
