  1. Try with a non ffb stick if you can, Fri. Jusy a cheap one of you have a spare. See if its a ffb issue.
  2. Fri, your experience doesn't sound normal. To flip, I need around 35 percent movement or more left or right. You sound as if you are moving 1 or 2 percent... Perhaps something with your setup?
  3. Ahhh. My mistake. I haven't experienced this. Perhaps it only affects a smaller number of people. Those issues can be hard to nail down.
  4. Has it even been confirmed as a bug? I thought this was by design. Isn't it just the shaking of the airframe?
  5. There's a setting near the panel above the right knee of the commander. If set to 'slave', you cannot slew. Change it to 'manual or managed?'. If you're sure that is set correctly, I'm not sure.
  6. Perfect attitude.
  7. Was going to wait for a sale for financial reasons, but... bought it last night. Great job!
  8. Great work. I hope you get a lot of interest. Looking forward to flying her.
  9. Great looking mission. Hope I get a chance to fly this soon.

    DCS: F-5E!

Great to see another airframe joining the skies. Yes, loads of people want 4th gen fighters, but as we know, it's difficult to get data for a dcs level simulation. I'm not so interested in the F-5. I'd prefer more Russian equipment. But I'll take look at some point for sure.
  11. Me too, buddy.
  12. The guy I quoted in my post represents ED, not Polychop. So shouldn't be too long.
  13. It's up to the developers. Luckily, we shouldn't have to wait too long for this! As you said, a few weeks behind is no problem.
  14. Let's not turn this into an argument: SiThSpAwN: "The goal is next week for 1.5 and another week after that for Steam. That is the hope, subject to change of course." It's pretty clear they are going to make it work with 1.5 first. The hate for Steam doesn't do the DCS community any favors. Let's keep it positive.
  15. There are no 5.56mm guns on the 8. The huey has a flexible mount. This means it is a lot easier to hit things. The Mi 8 hits a lot harder, but the fire is very inaccurate.
  16. I really felt this the other day when trying to engage CH 53E helicopters with my Mig. There are three in this first shot, but they are almost impossible to see. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=677236354 Adding a little zoom helps. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=677236427 A this zoom level, they retain their true color. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=677236473 For me, the color shift makes it impossible to track them. I'm following a white object that suddenly turns black when I get a meter further away. The LODs need to have the same color.
  17. I wouldn't use the 7.62 /.50 gunpod against aaa targets. It's easier for them to hit you than for you to hit them. Use rockets instead. The gunpods are useful against unarmed / unarmored targets. They are also good against infantry and other helicoptors. I generally prefer the 23mm gunpod or rockets.
  18. Great news! Thanks so much for the link to the post as well. I'm really happy to hear they aren't ignoring Steam.
  19. I was wondering if there was any information about a Steam release for the Gazelle. Are we likely to see it soon or in the distant future? I'm aware Steam releases are often a little behind.
  20. Essential feature. Custom skins are a waste of time until they are automatically downloaded by clients.
  21. Great news. Hope a Steam release is not too far behind.
  22. Yes, the zoom is not cheating. We're playing on tiny monitors with awful resolutions. Bind the zoom to your joystick (HOTAS) to be able to zoom in and out quickly. Track IR or similar also really helps.
  23. That's personal preference. For me, the charm of DCS is hitting the buttons and switches. It's what makes the game feel like a simulator. I use track IR to look around and find the button I need in my cockpit. I want a co-pilot for this. Navigation, spotting targets, calling missile launches, as well as having someone to take the controls while I go get a drink are some of the advantages multicrew brings. I find flying tiring. There's so much to do. I want to do it with friends. The only way I can see this being terrible is lag. If my Mi-8 is warping all over the place, I'm not gonna want to fly. In multiplayer servers, I'd love to see multicrew counted as one player from a balance perspective. Otherwise it makes more sense to just bring more airframes.
  24. I'll try and work on this again on the weekend if I can. I still don't understand how the data is being encoded and sent. I can decode the module name, e.g. Mi-8MT, but I haven't figured out how all the strings, ints, floats are wrapped or split up yet.
  25. Is that a multiplayer mission?
