  1. Outsource if ED doesn't want to do it themselves.
  2. I would be interested. AC 130, F117A, B-52 Stratofortress, F15C, F35, Mig-31M etc. Aircraft we don't have the data for should be simplified. I'm sure lot's of people would appreciate them.
  3. Are you in the US? Amazon.com?
  4. I thought they were updating the original map? Maybe I'm wrong.
  5. Could be an input problem. If you're trimmed and flying normally, you can afk and it will stlll be on course. Check your stick, throttle, keyboard, mouse, pedals, gamepad etc.
  6. Hopefully, buddy!
  7. Ahhh nice. I want to take a look at that some time. I hope the Mi-8 can carry more than the huey.
  8. Yup! But I imagine you only did it because you don't like thinking of your hobby as a 'game'. It's definitely not in the same category as Farmville.
  9. There are actually a lot of good points in that post. DCS is very hard for beginners. Anything that makes it easier is a good thing. The game requires a time investmant. It gets better the more you play.
  10. Realistic troop capacity and decent infantry would make the Mi-8 the clear winner. Being able to drop spec ops, ATGM, manpad teams with decent AI would be amazing.
  11. I bought both the Huey and the Mi-8 a long time ago. I've hardly touched the Huey.
  12. Welcome! Feel free to ask around for help! We're not the most active, but we all love to fly the Mi-8.
  13. Take a look at the steam Mi8 group if you're interested. New players are more than welcome.
  14. Very nice.
  15. Thanks, Lino. Your work is much appreciated.
  16. Tested everything with Wolf the other day. Everything worked smoothly apart from 220MHz on the 863. Sounds were playing correctly for all radios. Need to double check the 220 at some point.
  17. I tested this the other day. I shut off both engines from a hover at 1000m and restarted them in flight. Definitely something only to try in the sim.
  18. Q: Will it be available on Steam Q: Is there anything pilots of other helicopter modules need to learn before flying it?
  19. It'a a great module. Once you get comfortable, try and find some buddies to fly with.
  20. Definitely a good thing. I haven't liked the FB page as I don't want all my real life friends to know all of my weird secrets! For me, the frame rate brought me back.
  21. I know I can touch down at around 200-250kmh on a runway fairly reliably in the Mi-8. I would imagine that is not encouraged.
  22. More interesting findings. Pretty sure I was hearing sound via the Arc-9 last night for a short while. I was just testing radios from a parked Mi-8. Engines were off, so I was using ground power. ThereTherr definitely seems be issues with the radios. What exactly does the radio transmission power tab do? Perhaps too much power is causing problems?
  23. Wise pilots. Vertical descent isn't too bad in the Mi-8. You just have to be ultra careful. Get into a perfect hover. Turn on direction hold on SAS - one less thing to do. Then, very slowly descend. Aim for 0.5 - 1m/s rate. It may be slow, but its safer than rushing it. Ideally, you want to be able to move forward in case of problems, but sometimes that isn't possible. Doing this on a windy day is a different matter.
