I'm very happy with my DIY setup. A single BST-2 mounted to my office chair, with a Nobsound 100w mini amp powered by an old laptop PSU and connected to the PC via USB. I use Simshaker Sound Module with the Simshaker for Aviators addon to run it all. It was a fraction of the price of a Buttkicker, and I've got a spare channel to add another bass shaker if I were to be so inclined. Probably the best hardware mod I've done in terms of immersion, better IME than a VR headset.

Low Digit MANPADS - A Simple mod to add in early MANPADS
Biggus replied to Xeno426's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
This fills a huge gap. Great work! -
Can't be right. 52mm must be a typo.

correct as is CBU-87 bomblets are not armor-piercing
Biggus replied to Auranis's topic in Weapon Bugs
I'd be genuinely shocked if this is "correct as-is" based on eyewitness accounts. There's something not quite right. -
Image on the box looks very much like a Winwing stick, although that youtube clip shows him plugging a TM stick into the base. There's also this: I can't help but wonder whether Moza and Winwing might be collaborating on this?

Wow. Those two assets are going to make a huge impact on DCS!

Perfectly valid point of view, that does happen from time to time. I personally tend to restore the backed up file and if unexpected behavior is observed, I delete the edited lua and repair, and then edit the fresh input lua. But Quaggles' tool is certainly a great option. Different strokes, I guess.

reported F10 map showing things that it shouldn't
Biggus replied to WirtsLegs's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
Bumping this because I'm still seeing this behavior. -
Here's a recent example: One of the solutions that some have resorted to are to add weight via scripting in the mission editor. I haven't tested this myself yet, it's on my list of things to experiment with.

It isn't quite as bad as the MiG-15 but it can certainly behave rather UFO-like. It's pretty well documented elsewhere, I'd rather not derail the thread. A -21F would certainly be a welcome addition in my book.

Advice for New PC Needed
Biggus replied to Captain Chuck's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With MP, I'd seriously consider bumping the RAM up to 64GB. It's not directly comparable, but for my DDR4 system it made a noticeable difference in performance for me on the servers I play on. Otherwise it looks like a pretty respectable build. -
AGM-45 Shrike Quick Guide by Klarsnow - updated June 5th 2024
Biggus replied to HB_Painter's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Did this get resolved in the last patch or is it still an issue? -
Having a reasonable AI Fishbed will be a game changer for me. Thanks for making such an awesome mod!

Bailey's VoiceAttack Profiles (Added OH-58D Kiowa!)
Biggus replied to Bailey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
He's fine for me. Maybe just check that the command in the VA profile matches the binds in DCS. Other than that, if everything else works normally I'm not sure what the issue is. -
@lesthegrngo You will want to look at this thread. Simshaker Sound Module combined with Simshaker for Aviators should give you what you are looking for.

Bailey's VoiceAttack Profiles (Added OH-58D Kiowa!)
Biggus replied to Bailey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Excellent work. Thank you, @Bailey! -
If you disable Jester presence, he shouldn't fool with stuff in the back when you jump back to the front seat. Alternatively you can copy bindings from the WSO input lua and paste them into the pilot input lua.

I think this solution would be a good one.

For me it's mostly a question of appropriateness to the scenario. I believe our current CL tank model is the late, high performance one and wasn't really available until the mid '80s IIRC. But once it was available, it was generally preferred from what I understand.

Jester doesn't fly the plane.

Update of 22nd May - good to see some performance enhancements
Biggus replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in South Atlantic
Definite improvement, still suffering from the 900ft frame rate hit but it's more progress in the right direction. -
The F-4J (UK) variants retained the J79s. They did have some RAF-specific equipment but they weren't terribly different from the early unslatted S rebuilds.

Just out of interest, if I were to delete a fictional skin, what skin does the E default to?
