OK, have a quick follow on query….when sending and receiving, we are getting 2 of every target listed……. How can we stop this?

Does the mission have success / fail criteria? Are there linked triggers that for example dont work unless the player completes? I was thinking that you could maybe add some asdditional Apache units at a FARP on the island that you could "move" to if killed....But I dont really know how complex and interlinked all the tasks etc are for the mission...... Would you be able to explain the trggers and mission progression structure? Also, I took a LOT of ground fire while inbound on the route, is this supposed to happen, is the helo invunerable as I was surprised to find no damage........ One more point....when given the co ordinates of the troops in contact, I was unable to get the KBU to accept the co ords. I tried various combinations, with spaces and without but each time the KBU just flashed after I entered and would not let proceed to altitude entry....in the end I looked on the F10 map to see the rough area I was required at and flew there. I am pretty conversant in the procedure for entering waypoints etc, so not sure why the co ords given were not accepted..... Thanks!

Just tried this and found it excellent, really felt like I was in the middle of a war! Unfortunately, when I swapped into the CPG seat to take out the enemy after waypoint 9, George saw fit to settle us with power into the ground...... I know DCS does not let you have save points, but it would be great if there was someway of achieving this.....its such a pain to have to go back to beginning again and do it all again. Perhaps you could add some Apache units that spawn if the player dies, so they are available from the select role list? Dunno if that would work...

Hi, I wanted to set up a fairly decent sized land unit battle, with stuff like artillery firing, attacking and defending , that I can use my Apache in a CAS role for. Is this possible without days of work in the mission editor? Will too many units cause it to run like a dog? Whats possible practically and is there any guides etc on doing this or templates? Thanks

Thanks, but had already done this….they were arranged as per the lua file I'm always using. The issue is with where DCS renders.

OK, thanks, will try these tomorrow. Might be nice if someone from ED can comment on how it is supposed to work ( As per Floyds first point) and whats coming in the pipeline. To me it does seem strange that you cant exchange a whole set of actionable targets, if you can send one, then whats stopping it working the same way for 2 or 3 or 4? @NeedzWD40 the problem is that the sent targets do not appear on the recipients FCR...so sight selecting it is no use, as it has no targets on it to action. Likewise with setting ACQ source to FCR..... @Floyd1212 I just meant is RFHO the only way to send actionable targets, which you have answered, so thanks!

Hi, so have been practicing this and sharing firezones etc as a 2 ship with my buddy and we have run into some issues that we are unsure are as it should be / bug / User error. I shall describe: 1) I am popped up and have done target area scan, allocated and shared via datalink PFZ's and sent initial batch of targets to my wingman who is hiding in cover. He receives the targets no problem and they display on his TSD. However he is unable to launch on any of them. The only way he can launch is by me selecting an individual target and sending via RFHO. This seems wrong to me, as I thought the whole idea of having FCR equipped aircraft in a squad was so they could do exactly this? The targets I sent only appeared on his TSD, not his FCR. 2) Secondly, is there any way to share targets or target information apart from using the FCR? We laboriously sent co ordinates and made target points but this seemed a bit un modern....

Some Very useful tips for aerial refueling

May I add also to the tips, the throttle useage I have found is variant dependant.......if in the B model, the engines spool up way quicker and when matched at tanker speed, its very difficult to be precise using both - leading to lots of over / undershooting.........in the B, I match speed in the left observation position and get trimmed out....then just use one throttle for all further movements of the jet...... In the A model, you will need to use both, I find that at tanker speed, you are just below the AB detent...and you need both throttles for any speed adjustments.....depending on weight of the jet I sometimnes have to blip in and out of AB, again using one throttle only if going to reheat. -
So tried this for the first time today, how is it supposed to work? He told me ground power and air were not connected then it proceeded exactly as normal. I was kinda expecting him to run through the sequence and checks almost like a training mission........or is that not it?

I say thanks for the detailed and honest explanation and that I am very happy to wait, although dissapointed. However, I am disgusted by the attitudes and negative comments I have come across regarding this, honestly, some people are like spoilt kids. Its simple really, if you dont like the idea of paying something before you get it, then dont, wait until release. to me, paying a pre order is a show of support for the developers, and if we did not support and encourage them, we would not have the excellent modules we all love to fly so much. So please ignore the cry babies and bitchers, and we look forwards to the module when it releases.

Hi, I have not cleaned out and updated my driver for a while now, I am on 536.23 What is the consensus on updating and is there a driver that is particularly recommended? I fly pretty much all the time in VR, for my specs see signature Thank you

Hi, as title, what is the current status of these? Do they work in VR properly? Are we waiting for anything to be fixed? Will it be possible to get some rain effects including sound when in motion? Thanks

Well, I know it is not supposed to work.....but it does!!! this is why I asked in my original post if it was expected? Here is my meta settings and my shortcut. Tou can see its all as it should be. Quad views is 100% definitely working with this as is XR necksafer. maybe one of you can figure out why , but I posted as I hoped it would help some of you who are having this issue. -

The affinity F addition is nothing to do with getting this to work with oculus, sorry, its just to do with utilising my AMD CPU to its best performance. Sorry for the confusion, but the point remains that is perfectly possible to run oculus latest version in open XR and have no issues....unless I am missing something .....? -

I have version 63 of the oculus desktop software installed. I am using a Quest pro with a link cable through Quest link. Meta Quest link is set as the active OpenXR runtime according to my settings page. I start DCS using the following shortcut: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --affinity=F DCS and quad views both run fine...........Is this to be expected? I just tried tried running DCS using "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_oculus_VR And it runs, but quad views is not running. So maybe this helps? Also, as I seem to have an open XR runtime being used according to my oculus software, why would I need to add the shortcut above? What does it add that my first shortcut that includes affibity F and allows me to use quad views, does not? -
Hi, I got my MIP when it released and had it working great. Since a windows re install several months ago and transitioning to pretty much 100% VR flying now, I did not re install the display drivers and use the screens. Yesterday I decided to get them working and had no issues until starting DCS. I got them all aligned and detected but on starting DCS, it’s running in a reduced size window, not on the main monitor and the mouse is trapped in the 3 smaller screens, so I can’t drag out the window. So I am basically stuck … any ideas?
