- ILS frequency 109.20 MHz is not compatible with the ICAO-ILS frequency band. Next eligible frequencies would be either 109.15 or 109.30 MHz, also please see next point below - Wiesbaden didn't have any ILS, both should be removed - TACAN facilities are doubled, the eastern one is wrong and should be removed. The western TACAN is at the correct location, marker "WIB" and channel 88 are correct as well - NDB marker "WIB" is incorrect, correct one is "WBD"

Btw. frequencies published by DOD FLIP in 1991 had been RWY07L - 110.10 MHz "RHM" (109.60 MHz in DCS) RWY07R - 111.10 MHz "IRF" (110.80 MHz in DCS) RWY25L - 110.70 MHz "IFM" RWY25L - 109.50 MHz "DLF" 109.60 and 110.80 are indeed incompatible with ICAO-ILS frequency plan. Between 108.10 MHz and 111.95 MHz, only .10, .15, .30, .35, .50, .55, .70, .75, .90, .95, are allowed. Btw. all Frankfurt runway headings in DCS are 9° higher than published... Ugra, please fix the ILS07L and 07R frequencies by changing them to either 109.55 and 110.75 or to 110.10 and 111.10.

I can confirm Wunstorf is turned 9 degrees cw. 1991 FLIP chart says 262.5° for rwy 26 yet F10 map reads 271°. Spangdahlem 1991 FLIP chart reads 226.5° for rwy 23 and F10 map reads 236°, so 10° cw deviaton. Frankfurt rwy headings are 9° higher than published (for that time). Berlin airfields featuring no deviation is a hint that the map of this size struggles to project the converging meridians on a flat map scenery. It seems to be accurate at Berlin's longitude and then slowly turns clockwise the more west we go. Not sure if this can be avoided.
-
I cannot confirm this for the entire map. It seems wrong for Hannover indeed, yet the runway heading on F10 map is the same you see ingame. I just tested Berlin Tegel and Gatow and the rwy headings are correct. So its not the entire map. Only Hanover (and maybe others we will have to discover). 266° is pretty accurate for both of Berlin-Tegel runways 26L and 26R...

Schwanenwerder is missing. I think this might not qualify as nitpicking because there are islands in Berlin smaller than this one implemented.

A "Northeim" has been placed here, east of Lüchow at N 52°59'03" E 11°14'13" It doesn't seem there has ever been any airfield at this location. Instead Northeim airfield should appear here at N 51°42'28" E 10°01'56"

Ugra did a visually great reproduction of the Schäferberg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernmeldeturm_Berlin While Ugra even did care to represent an angular offset between the field antennas on the top and the parabolic antennas at the base, the entire tower now only requires a 56° clockwise increase of its heading to be accurate. The 2 parabolic antennas should be facing the Torfhaus station, west of the Brocken/Harz. Unfortunately this end of this radio link isn't represented yet. The red/white checkered field antennas require the 56° heading increase as well, as they should be faced towards Gartow. The smaller lattice tower next to it with the 2 small parabolic antennas also requires this heading correction. These radio links ensured telephone links and TV signal transfer from West Germany to West Berlin. The GDR's Staatssicherheit put up listening posts along these direct links to monitor the telephone transmissions to West Berlin.

Several east German airfields should have their ILS removed, as these weren't equipped with ICAO-compatible ILS during cold war era (and most of them aren't today) affected: - Haina - Allstedt - Zerbst - Finow - Laage - Garz - Barth
-
This airport shouldn't have a ILS for rwy 10. ICAO compatible ILS hadn't been installed until 1988 and then only rwy 28 did receive one (109.90 MHz, "IRF").

57 NDBs across the map have their frequencies in thousands of kHz, so they end up as MHz and are unusable. This is easily noticeable on the mission editor map. They show correct ingame on F10 map, yet you can't receive these when tuned to the regular kHz number. Affected NDBs: West-Germany - Bremen BW and BMN - Hamburg FU - Hehlingen HLI - Braunschweig BRU - Fritzlar FTZ - Fulda FDA - Hahn HAH - Schweinfurt SCF - Giebelstadt GBL East-Germany - Leipzig-Halle SK, S, M and MA - Leipzig-Mockau G - Dessau WN and W - Cochstedt SL and S - Zerbst ZB, Z, K and KJ - Altes Lager LG, L, B, BM - Stendal U and UK - Neuruppin GK, G, W and WD - Finow RG, R, O and OM - Parchim AS, A, U and UU - Neubrandenburg T, T, D and DT - Tutow Y and YC - Laage RL, R, L and RL - Peenemünde EN, E, N and NE Berlin - Tempelhof DBR and DIP all these 57 NDBs require to have their frequencies corrected by division by 1000.

- Both assigned frequencies (113.3 MHz and 114.5 MHz) are outside the standard frequency range for ILS (108-112 MHz) - Frequency 113.3 MHz is already (and historically correct) in use by VOR Havel in 25 NM distance - Werneuchen never had ILS, so the ILS should be removed entirely

As a Berliner who lived here in during cold war times and as a sim pilot who totally understands that this is neither a sightseeing simulator nor an attempt to rebuild googleearth or MSFS, I have to confirm that some things feel so off that its creating mixed feelings. I totally appreciate having my hometown in DCS, I mean I am clearly lucky, how many people around the globe can enjoy their place in DCS? Certainly not that many. I will create several threads around things and while it will earn me the accusation of being nitpicky for some of the reports, I can only say its really hard to determine what is and what isn't. I won't focus on sightseeing stuff. I only really aim for accuracy around things which make the Germany map a cold war map, an accurate depiction of cold war features. Regarding Berlin, I am so far happy about the airfields and the attempt of depicting the wall in its entirety. Though there is obvious issues: - all the famous border control facilities are missing - there is only a single train station in the entire city right now, which didn't even have a border function - railway operation areas are generally to green. Instead of lush meadows we should see industrial like stuff. - while soviet monuments are brilliantly modelled, the Berlin Airlift monument at the northwestern corner of Tempelhof airfield is missing - The East Berlin "Rotes Rathaus" city hall is in, the West Berlin "Rathaus Schöneberg" city hall isn't - besides the Teufelsberg listening post, none of the western allied facilities are depicted, none of the French, British and American barracks, training grounds, equipment and vehicle storage sites are there. Regarding Berlin, the general layout of roads is surprisingly accurate in most areas, while then for some reasons it isn't in few parts of the city. - Modern buildings are composed of just too few archetypes and are too few - Older pre-WW2 archetypes are much too widespread, almost the entire city center of the city had been destroyed to rubble in WW2 - older post-WW2 archetypes (think 1950s) are also too frequent - many of the civilian vehicles in combination with the recent two points I mentioned rather give the impression of a 1950s Berlin, far from the 1980 theme the map is aiming for. That's just my first impression and I will continue to provide further dedicated threads, not to condemn the great work Ugra has done already, but to support any improvements, in case they are willing to do them...

In fact water towers are a very rare sight in Germany and always have been (outside of railyards during the steam locomotive age) as we are generally pulling water supply directly out of the ground water and wells. Other points mentioned are valid as well.

No, its Aeroflot (Аэрофлот), which is also intentionally spelled "wrong" as its still in business. Also Авиафлот would be simply Aviaflot, which has noting to do with "winged hell". No idea where you would draw such nonsense from.

might be a thing to report in the Polychop subforum...
-
Is this only a thing along the A7 or is it rather an issue with the general depiction of all the Autobahnen on the map?
-
these are indeed 80s West Berlin's MAN Busses of the BVG

In Wags' stream, Werneuchen (EDBW) and Barth (EDBH) both show ILS installation on the map, yet none of these did ever have ILS. Only GDR airfields/airports (ICAO codes) eqipped with ILS were: Berlin-Schönefeld (then ETBS, today EDDB) Erfurt (ETEF until 1990s, today EDDE) Leipzig (ETLS until 1990s, today EDDP) Dresden (ETDN until 199s, today EDDC) Marxwalde (EDON after 1990s)
-
Seems like my help wasn't required, navaids seemed accurate in today's stream Pretty sure though Werneuchen never had ILS...
-
What I can confirm from watching the stream is that civilian nav aids at Berlin seem accurate and complete for the 80s time frame, regarding NDBs, VORs, ILS (and TACAN as well).

Thanks for reporting

I also got that "PCM" in the VTB screen constantly and there is no explanation in the manual about what it intends to tell me

What about using a trigger ?

Rhein-Ruhr could hardly be left out since at least half of cold war NATO airbases in Germany were west or at least close to it. People shouldn't only focus on American related Ramstein, Spangdahlem and Bitburg exclusively. Cold War air bases would rely on Büchel, Nörvenich and NATO at Geilenkirchen as well. Also RAF bases in Germany like Laarbruch, Wildenrath, Brüggen and Gütersloh.
