  1. Ok, I just picked up BS2, and I'm trying to do a simple flight around Batumi. I did the auto-start, however once the rotors start going, it's as if the cyclic goes to full forward and I start rolling to a crash situation. I then tried just starting a flight already in the air, but the nose drops quickly as if I am holding my stick full forward. In holding full back stick, and pressing the trim button, nothing happens. When I let go of the stick (to center) the helo starts doing an inverted loop. Even if I hold back stick to maintain level flight, the rotors end up clipping each other and I go down. I'm using the TM Warthog. Any solutions possible?
  2. What if there was a virtual view like the F11 tower view. Have it as a split screen (left side being the overhead map like we have now, and the right side with a virtual view).
  3. It could also be an F-4 with the many varients which would also allow for carrier usage. Not sure I'd get it though, only because spending so much money for each aircraft takes away from building my cockpit (and keeping the wife happy).
  4. Hey pit, thanks for those 2. The fuel panel I meant was actually the fuel tank/hyd pressure quantity panel on the right side... If you have it. I got my license in 1996 and now have around 1k hours. Been telling my wife if we ever move back stateside I'm doing my CFI and making that my "career". Sure it doesn't pay the best, but I think she understands (or just wants me to shut up about the need to fly, not sure which.).
  5. Good luck Pit. I wish I could get back into flying, but it would cost way too much here in Germany. Is there any chance if you have a little time, to post the images for the Landing Gear, fuel, and anything else worth while on the front panel?
  6. Just make sure you make the handle supports strong enough, or you may rip the handle off trying to eject in a scary situation.
  7. I've seen those birds fly. The anniversary paint is my favorite. In FSX I was a commander in the vNATO and painted the Captainsim E-3A in that scheme.
  8. Absolutely Awesome!! I can't think of anything else to except that I'm glad I had the beta, hehe.
  9. Geez MTF, I'm thinking I need to send you an update checklist for free (you still have the first version I sent you right?). Thanks for that, and Dime, if I need more help I'll be sure to ask! I'll test this out in the morning. I just got home from loading a few cargo planes at the airport, and I'm off to bed!!
  10. I have the keypad setup as 0-9, the enter key as the UFC enter, the + key as my master caution, backspace as the clear... What I did for the CDU was change those keys used without Control, to with Control (A, F, G M...etc) to being used with Control. This worked easy using the Thrustmaster Cougar as I only has to change it in Foxy to match. I then went through the alphabet in the CDU so each letter corresponded with my keyboard letter making typing very fast and easy. If you use the warthog however, I'm not sure this would work as I haven't tried it yet.
  11. Here's a question... Are you good with the target software? Foxy.was easy for me, but I have no idea how to write these scripts how I would want them. I did manage to get a few buttons to work from within FSX, but setting something like the APU switch to off isn't recognized. On does, but off doesn't.
  12. Ok, sweet. Just the answer I needed.
  13. Now that I have things set up with my TM warthog for DCS (well duh, it's automatic), and since I just picked up the PMDG 737NGX for FSX, I thought I could use my Warthog to control a lot of the stuff... especially the dual engines. My problem is getting it to work right. The big question here is, if I get a profile for FSX in TARGET, will this completely erase the usage in DCS unless I create a new profile by hand within Target? Thanks! Edit: I also have an issue where the right throttle works fine, but the left one doesn't go to full idle or full thrust. In DCS it works just fine. EDIT: I have found the fix for the throttles. In the options, both throttles need to be set to "sensitivity to full and the null to none" on the sliders.
  14. You can also buy F-16 panels at viperpanels.org (com?). They have a full set of F-16 panels.
  15. Dime, this is awesome! Any ideas how to get the curved sides out of wood? If I had aluminum I could do it easily, but I don't, and have no clue where to get any and how to work with it.
  16. Feel "free" to send me a bunch here in Germany. I can build me wife something and maybe build the pit too. It's getting permission to get the supplies I have a hard time with!
  17. Hey Peter, You are correct. I bought mine at Baumarkt by me. They fit perfectly, but you really have to screw down the stick "ring" a ways until it sits tight. Btw, where in Germany are you? It's possible that if the next sim is the f-16 I'll sell my extension for a few euros to basically pay for half what I paid for in parts. Since I got my Warthog, (plus work schedule) I haven't used my cougar.
  18. Is there a program I need to view DXF Files?
  19. Dime, can you recommend a good place to get the landing gear handle... one that can light up?
  20. All you guys are going to make me go poor and my wife leaving me!!! Panel, if you end up making gauges like Alt/VVI/Airspeed/Fuel/all engine instuments/HYD all those things... and you make enough to sell... just a few questions. Can you use a more "realistic" needle? The one you're using is I'm sure just for the testing stuff, but looks kinda strange. Also, if you are making kits, would they be USB plug and play kits? As I build my pit, I'm going to be wanting everything connected in a simple way... or would these need to attach to the servo card from say Opencockpits: http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/servo-motors-card-p-42.html?cPath=21_32
  21. Well, I'm sure Paulrkiii can state what is and isn't, but I'm a ramp agent at the airports here in Berlin and also a pilot. I can tell you that things get noisy infront, and definitely behind where the exhaust is. In most cases for jet engines (turbines like the A-10 or commercial) the engine sounds can sound reduced at about 45° off the front of the intakes until around 60°, but as you continue to the rear the sounds get a lot louder. The sound is a lot different of a tone, but shouldn't drop in the level they do in the sim. In front it's a whine, in the rear it's a deep roar, but a lot louder.
  22. That's terrible news. Looks like the everything got destroyed. Too bad the cockpit tub isn't still in one piece. I'd look into buying it to put my cockpit into it for the sim ;)
  23. On my last flight I did, I noticed that in the external view with engines running that the engine sound almost dies completely when viewing the aircraft from directly behind. This was done while sitting on the ramp, engines at idle and panning around the F2 view. Another thing (more of a wish list but dealing with the engine sounds) is if we could maybe get a more whistle out of the engines when in flyby mode like you hear from the actual A-10 instead of the way it is now.
  24. Linden, if using the fiberglass jumps the price way up, I'd rather do without. Quick question which I'm not sure if you mentioned, but I'm not at home and can't access pictures atm... Will the front panel have the 3D center area that holds the ADI/HSI and other indicators in the step they have? If you don't know what I mean I can send a pic when I get back home. If not, it's not a problem. I plan on trying to build each individual gauge later on, but may use a smaller monitor for certain things to start. I guess if I had the option, I'd ask if you could make the front panel with all the normal cutouts that would just need the individual panels over them. I'll do the rest later (I also have the TM MFDs). If you're guessing around $100 for the kit, definately count me in. I think even if the price goes up to $150 before shipping (which shouldn't be much to Germany) I could do it. Can't wait to see some more pics of the pit together with sides and all.
  25. Any idea yet on the pricing for the kit without the acrylic panels?
