Wow, $170. I wish these things were a little cheaper. I could get about 5 panels for that price (depending on the panels of course).

The "Dead" bug can also happen in A-10C. I was shot up pretty bad and it said I was killed, yet I was able to make it back to base (barely... glided most of the way) and repair. After that it was the same thing - able to fly around infront of AAA and SAMs and they wouldn't see me.

Quick question if anyone knows. Do the skins from BS1 work in BS2? I have a scheme I was working on a while ago that is time to finish now that BS2 is compatible with A-10... but not sure the files are the same.

As noted in an article by USA Today weather editor Jack Williams, lightning strikes on airplanes are not uncommon occurrences, but such events rarely result in disaster due to a number of related safety features: Lightning regularly strikes airplanes. In fact, as far as anyone knows, the odds are that each airliner in the USA will be hit by lightning once a year. (Obviously some would be hit more than once, some not at all.) But, lightning has not caused an airliner crash in the USA or of a U.S. airline plane anywhere in more than 40 years. Protection begins with the fact that airliners, and the majority of other airplanes, are made of aluminum, which is a very good electrical conductor. A lightning bolt's electricity flows along the airplane's skin and into the air. Lightning protection goes far beyond airplanes being good conductors of electricity, and the last airline crash in the USA blamed on lightning was more than 40 years ago. On December 8, 1962 lightning hit a Pan American Boeing 707 in a holding pattern over Elkton, Md. The lightning caused a spark that ignited fuel vapor in a tank, causing an explosion that brought the plane down, killing all 81 aboard. This led to rules requiring that airplanes have built-in systems that ensure that a spark will not ignite fuel or fuel vapors in tanks or fuel lines. Then, during a 1980s lightning research project, NASA flew an F-106B jet into 1,400 thunderstorms and lightning hit it at least 700 times. The lightning didn't damage the airplane, but the data the jet collected showed that lighting could induce relatively small electrical currents that could damage electronic systems. This led to regulations that require aircraft electrical and electronic systems, as well as fuel tanks and lines, to have built-in lightning protection.

Wish I could have saved the cockpit section before the canopy got broken, bought it, and used it as a simpit.

What about just setting the turnoff point for the ai, in that they are not allowed to take the first turnoff? Also, (little off-topic) can we please somehow get the ai to actually turn off their engines when they land? There's a mission we run, where after the F-15s land and park, the engines never actually turn off but end up in a shutdown loop.

I find things at the airport for my cockpit everyday (garbage stuff) and today I found a square piece of aluminum with a hole cut out that looks about the right size for the gauges but was wondering if someone could give me actual dimensions for them... such as Bezel depth, width and height, and also diameter of the circle. The gauges being Altimeter, VVI (I know, not square), Airspeed, and if different, the RWR.. The other dimensions if someone knows are for the 4 "blocks" to the left of the HSI: Standby ADI, UHF repeater, Clock, and I think it's an AoA? Are those 4 built onto a single panel? Thanks in advance!

I wish there was a way to get this for the KC-135 in DCS. Even if it were a dumbed down version. It would be cool (for something else to do) to fly the KC-135, put it into an autopilot holding pattern, switch to the Boom position and refuel some buddies or AI. ED, Please figure out a way to do this! I know it'd be boring for most, but things like this and being able to work an ATC position are fun and add to the whole gameplay. I would definitely get the F-4 from A2A especially if you can do shared cockpit front and backseater.

Any chance you'll make these "finished" for sale with the LCD and toggle switches? ;)

This is another reason why we need the AH-64, to be able to work alongside the A-10 in support missions. Even the UHF is the same.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
hog_driver111th replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I just hope it's not a fighter only aircraft (F-15C) as it would be good to run some SEAD with fighter cover for the A-10s and Ka-50s. Oh, and I'm still all for a single and two seater (F-16C/D, F-15C/D/E, F/A-18C/D or F/A-18E/F/G) -
You can have the throttle to joystick connection, and hide the stick somewhere if using a different joystick. Just make sure in the options you only have the joystick you are using as the buttons/axis and not the cougar. (I think it should work that way but haven't tried with my cougar.)

I really think we need a topic with Ebay listings for those of us interested in building cockpits and looking for parts. You don't have to participate, but if you see something good that you think others might be interested in, post it. I'll start: InterCom Panel - Not in the greatest condition and doesn't have all the knobs as in the A-10, but it's close. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aircraft-Andrea-Radio-Intercommunication-Set-Control-Panel-C-2106A-AIC-18-/140631773359?pt=Motors_Aviation_Parts_Gear&vxp=mtr&hash=item20be4e90af Oxygen Regulator: I'd actually get this myself since it's super cheap, but I just bought Pitbldr's UFC. http://www.ebay.com/itm/C-130-OXYGEN-REGULATOR-P-N-29255-10A-A5-/190603399929?pt=Motors_Aviation_Parts_Gear&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c60d912f9 A-10 ACES II ejection seat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-10-WARTHOG-ACES-II-EJECTION-SEAT-AIRCREW-PARACHUTE-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/150698371506?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231652a9b2

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

I thought the same, but had heard that due to some of the classified nature of the superhornet, it would be easier to make the Legacy Hornet. -

Ok, I heard about this today from a friend, who say this from someone here in the forums. It looks like the next DCS plane is the F-18C. I know I'll buy it if it is, but the superhornet would be cooler (F-model Please!!!) Here's why: -
This would actually be a good "add-on" thing. Go out and kick some ass, but make sure you buy enough weapons. I like the idea and would love to do something like that.

Sorry guys, I had beaten you to the punch. His warthog has been "sitting" (more like getting total usage flying everyday) on my desk since the end of September.

After patches we have to do everything different
hog_driver111th replied to vortex360's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Classic. Vortex, I'm sure you're thinking of the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" quote, but in the case of the A-10C, fixing things just makes everything more real. Granted some things break in the fixing (AAR), but that's to be expected with a couple million lines of code. -
Flying the Cobra in BS2
hog_driver111th replied to Ogrex's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
In making this mod, do you just set the humancockpit to yes? Also, with only having 1 flyable, does that mean you lose the Ka-50 if you set something else as flyable? -
haha, ok. I need to get off to work, but I have it unchecked. Tests will take place tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys!

It probably has to do then with the rudders not sending (PeterP, I'll get to your PM about it shortly). Is there any way possible to just get a trim system like the A-10 for the cyclic? I'm still getting the controls locked upon hitting the trim button. Even if I take my hands off the controls, feet off the pedals, It's locked. I have to press the reset trim (Rctrl+t) in order to get control back of my controls. Doing this while trying to setup for a landing can be (and has been) catastrophic.
-
yep, I saw that (ctl-Enter) and what it was doing, even on the ground, was setting the stick full forward. When doing the Ctrl T to center the trim, it would go to center, then back to full forward. Viper, thought of doing a track, but read further. EDIT: I think I figured out the issue. I had selected (oddly enough) to sync HOTAS controls at start, in the settings. Unchecking this set everything to work. For some reason the HOTAS sync was sending wrong inputs. Now I just have the issue that sometimes pressing the trim button makes all my control inputs turn off (nothing moves: cyclic, collective, rudder) until I press the trim button a few times.
