Lol... [emoji23], no probs, I'm off to work for a 10 hour shift [emoji24] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Ahhh..... ok, I haven't flown the Hornet for a while, so I will have to do a test flight maybe tonight (UTC +8) to see if my install is doing that too. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

At the moment, I believe the Mav seeker is slaved to the TGP when a target/waypoint is designated, so with TGP SOI, you designate the target with TDC press, which will also move the Mav seeker to that point (uncaged). I have found you need fine adjustments to get a lock, so with Mav as SOI, you need to undesignate, then you can slew to the target you want. It is a bit clunky at the moment, however, ED are working on more TGP functionality, so hopefully soon you should be able to designate with TGP and not have to do anything with the MAV until it is in range to get its own lock. After you uncage the Maverick seeker head to the designated point, you need to "undesignate" with the pinky button (if you are using a Warthog HOTAS), then you will be able to slew the Maverick seeker head around. There are 2 settings for the TDC slew in the Hornet. Realistic (you depress the TDC while you slew, then realease to attempt lock), and unrealistic (you can slew the TDC around without depress, the Warthog mini-stick must use this method as it is a hardware limitation). Hope that helps. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Yeah, it's a bit of a quirk when installing/reinstalling modules, the brake axes seem to be default to on. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Yeah, she's a pretty heavy bird when fully loaded so it takes a bit of thrust to overcome the initial rolling friction (sorry, I can't think of the proper engineering/scientific name: inertia maybe?). Just check your brakes axes aren't the wrong way around ie braking when you are not pressing toe brakes, you may need to invert them if you have are using pedals with toe brakes. Cheers! @IronMike, well in my opinion, I think yourself and HB have done a fantastic job in bringing your abovementioned qualities of the Tomcat to a simulator that we can all enjoy. I'm from the generation that saw "Afterburner" in Timezone which blew me away. Now, to see a fully interoperable AI crew member performing highly skilled RIO tasks, some "swagger", and some nostalgia, wrapped up in one of history's iconic aircraft: well, I'm lost for words. I certainly feel my $AUDs have been well spent with the enjoyment I have received so far from this module, with more to come. Also a big [emoji106] for your communications throughout the forums, keeping us informed of development. Well done.. Cheers! Scotch Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

^^^ Same for me. I reported it in the TTI discord. I even tried the defualt usual Airboss frequencies of 244 and 266 with no joy. In F-18 I also tried AM and FM. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

[CANNOT REPRODUCE] Can't slew walleye sensor
Scotch75 replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in Bugs and Problems
Or you need to undesignate the waypoint after you have uncaged the walleye to be able to slew (like Mav F). Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Brilliant work again mate. We don't get to see the "Queen of the skies" in real life much anymore unfortunately. Great to see them in DCS. Cheers! Scotch [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

@Bourrinopathe No probs mate. I just think they have it way down on the priority list, or ATFLIR will be taking up a lot of time with higher priority. This work around is good, however, it does break IC for multiplayer. Cheers! Scotch Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Yes it does, I tried it the other day (Backy51's lua file) and the camera showed the bottom of the aircraft and the attached centerline fuel tank as looking from the left cheek station. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Hey @PB0_CEF, I was just wondering if you have any plans to incorporate AIRBOSS into the base .miz for the DCE campaigns in the future? Cheers! Scotch Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

At this stage you can't really engage more than 1 target at a time with Amraam as TWS (Track While Scan) mode has not yet been implemented. When TWS is introduced, you should be able to "soft lock" several tracks, then launch Amraams at them. I don't think you can ever attack more than 1 target with AIM-7 at a time, as the missile depends on the radar being in single target track (STT) mode to guide it to the target (the missile needs the continuous reflected radar energy from the target to guide it). Hopefully that explains it somewhat, but I'm no expert. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Hey Mith86Arg, I'm really enjoying these missions and the immersion is fantastic, well done. I am also experiencing stutters and pauses too, but that is to be expected with so much going on in my modest PC. I just push through. I was tasked with SEAD001 which was to take out the Patriot on the hill. I did a "create jtac" which made a Reaper appear overhead, it also reported it was designating targets. I could not find which laser frequency it was using (1688 default?) as I took LMavs, which could not lock on. Is there a way to find this? Also, are those units set to invincible? After I couldn't fire the LMavs, I laid a heap of M61 lead into them. Mission debrief said they were hit many times, with no apparent damage. Cheers! Scotch Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Ok cool, thanks Helles, now I remember seeing that livery on the mighty F-111s when they deployed on exercise to Pearce years ago lol. Great work [emoji106] Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Hey Helles, Skin is looking fantastic mate. Is that an historical RAN skin or fictional? IIRC you left or right mouse click on the radalt knob. It does move in/out slightly. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Carrier Landing Instructions (from an 8 year old)

Operation Snowfox - Persian Gulf PvE Playground
Scotch75 replied to Surrexen's topic in User Created Missions General
Hey Surrexen, brilliant mission mate. Tested it out last night. The recovery tanker worked well, it was the first launched, stayed up for about an hour or so - I was able to take a sip from it - then it when off station to land on the carrier, then got replaced by another. The fleet defence aircraft constantly rotated on and off the carrier. So for that last bit of immersion, have you considered incorporating the latest Airboss? It would be great getting stacked up in Marshal with the recovering fleet CAP and tankers. Well done mate. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Hey leonardo, this mission is shaping up quite nicely, it's very immersive to play - well done. Two things I noticed on the latest version, 1 - An F-16 gets stuck on the taxiway at the airfield so subsequent requests for CAP (F-15s?) result in message saying "CAP not available" even after the "cool down" time. I don't know if the F-16 was a CAS flight I requested, or a MOOSE spawned flight. 2 - There were no voice overs/prompts from AIRBOSS even though I set one radio to Marshal (305 UHF) and the other to LSO (264 UHF), which I got from the airboss/kneeboard/carrier info. I'm running latest OB with no mods. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Operation Snowfox - Persian Gulf PvE Playground
Scotch75 replied to Surrexen's topic in User Created Missions General
Hey Surrexen, I think this would be a great addition, and most people would be happy to edit the MissionScripting.lua, as anyone who has played the DCE campaigns knows how to do this regularly. This file will have to be edited each time after an update/repair, and is quite easy to do with notepad++. You would probably need to spell out how to delete exported mission data, unless you can provide a "batch file" to automatically do this upon command from the user. Again, the DCE campaigns use this method to skip missions and/or restart campaigns. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
I tend to plan the approach (straight in) a fair way out, say 25 miles. Throttle to idle, air brakes full out and let natural drag do its thing. Hold a fairly nose level attitude - or slight descent, as you gently trim back to keep this attitude more drag will be induced. Once through 250 ias, drop the gear - a huge drag creator - then flaps and dlc once through 220 ias. Then trim for onspeed AoA, start introducing and managing power to contol your decent rate and angle. Putting the velocity indicator on the runway threshold and keeping it there with throttle management works well for me to get me in the ballpark. Then, using some "rule of thumb" numbers, crosscheck your 3 degree approach. I use 3000ft agl at 10nm, 1500ft agl at 5nm and adjust accordingly with throttle. Hope this helps Cheers. P.S. practicing this at airports has helped me manage "the groove" when landing at the carrier. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
