I miss hyperlobby too but I would settle for an in game 'lobby chat' feature.

I have a 980ti and a 4k tv. I run at high settings except for 2aa and flat shadows, DOF off. For the most part I get FPS between 50 and 80 (vsync to 60 though). FPS will drop to 30s around airfield with mirrors on or if flying the Mig21 around built up areas (sukhumi city). Basically its very variable. Its less about the hardware and more about the code optimisation.

Another test I did earlier but didnt post at the time. 1440p|4K|4K with DOF off, flat shadows, 2xAAonly, High vis Mission start: 82|55|97 Over nellis: 70|49|85 Las vegas downtown: 35|27|43 Las vegas airport: 45|34|55 Personally I run the above settings as 2AA is enough for me at 4K and I dont like the cockpit/dynamic shadows effect (too jaggeddy) or the DOF effects. Cant wait for Vega.

Out of interest I ran the benchmark track and used your timestamps above to note the FPS. i7-2700k@4.6ghz. 980ti. 16gb ram. 1440p. High preset but Vsync off. Mission start: 82 FPS Over nellis: 70 FPS Las vegas downtown: 35 FPS Las vegas airport: 45 FPS (appproximate as no timestamp above). Time for a 7700k user to do the same!

Understood. It's just the CMS thumbs switch is a design win. What about fitting a MCG Pro on a BRD-N?

It's just I really want the CMS hat switch under the thumb. It's far more useful than a single button. Perhaps the button in the MCG-TM can be substituted for a hat switch?

The Pro looks great! Can we get a confirmation if it will work with the BRD-N? I need a throttle too.

It happens for me in most modules. it's mostly the 2 and 3 position switches in the throttle that randomly go haywire. I've had to unmap those controls otherwise I'd randomly jettison canopy or switch off engines mid flight.... It's possible the throttle is on its way out.

Will the MCG Pro be compatible with the WH (or BRD-N)?

4.5ghz is plenty. I think there would be little difference between 4.5 and 5ghz except heat and instability. The way the game is coded results in a law of dimishing returns with higher grade hardware. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157374

I doubt you would see a significant difference. in DCS, clock for clock the FPS difference between a 2600k and 7700k is about 15%. Hardly worth the £800 or so it would take to do a full rebuild (CPU/RAM/MOBO). I doubt Ryzen is any different. I can't see why anyone would need to upgrade still from an overclocked Sandy bridge if you're not a multithreading monster.

Im pleased too. I want an AMD win. Its just with conflicting data its hard to know whats what.

Somwthing changed a few months ago I think and the visibility became marginally better. Still way off but better. As far as I remember it was unannounced. An idea when this further improvement will hit the release/OB? Does it improve long distance or close in spotting?

I dont get it. Previous reviews all showed the 1700/1800x all getting beaten out by the 7700k. This shows otherwise. Why? Im dying for someone to do a direct DCS comparison.
