  1. Video is up. If you can't see it, you need a proxy or something.
  2. ........ CONSTANT PEG.... >.< So glad Davies is on board too. Also lucky enough to have Ret. Col. Peck sign both books. Can't wait for TTR to be modeled.
  3. Yes. This is why Wiki says command guided, and the encyclopedia in-game says both command guided and semi-active, and they're both correct in their own ways. It works as you described (although the SA-10 is a poor example to use as it's a different type of system altogether). 1. TOR uses search radar to find you. 2. TOR locks you with the TER. 3. TOR launches missile. 4. TOR sends guidance commands to missile where to go to intercept the target. Personally, I wouldn't feel bad about not being able to kill all the SAM threats with an A-10 flawlessly. It's not really made for that.
  4. I'm having the same issue, however, I do not use any other keyboard layouts than EN. Can't even start from the MP shortcut, the exe just hangs. It also likes to sometimes spawn a slew of dllhost.exe threads. One time, it even asked again for BS 2 activation. Everything was working flawlessly, and no changes to my config at all, and now can't get DCS.exe to finish launching. Stops around 64mb of mem usage. 5. I've always heard them referred to as rails, which attach to hard points.
  6. I believe the low speed radar filter is for objects with low relative speed to you, i.e. a fighter flying away from you, or one approaching notch speed. This is probably a PRF setting.
  7. I can only speculate as to the reasons why. Probably because such a system was small, and easy to maintain. Just about anywhere can get their hands on it. I read the memoirs of the MiG-25 pilot that defected to Japan and he recounted that the MiG-25's radar as well used the same liquid, and indeed, the crews would drink the stuff. Of course, if you're using coolant and no fuel, that looks suspicious. So they'd take the fuel and dump it and doctor the logs to show flying time that never took place so when they placed another order for more coolant, and the matching fuel, Supply wouldn't ask questions.
  8. You mean the whole mounting rail comes off with it then? Leaving just the small fin of the hard point left on the wing? Or does the fin come off too, leaving the wing completely "clean"?
  9. Noted!
  10. Bump for great justice. I play almost exclusively MP and I can't do much of anything useful with the MiG in any kind of reasonable threat environment without the SPS-141.
  11. I'll take a stab at translation. I think by the word "User" he means an actual pilot? If the Tac Drop switch is Safe, you can't just pickle the bombs anyway. Only emergency jettison will make the bomb leave the rail in that config. I also believe he is specifying that you can't just jettison an AA missile. You have to activate the engine to make it leave the rail, so, like the vikhrs in the Ka-50, the emergency jettison will result in an unguided ballistic launch.
  12. I tried it, and ended up just dumping it and going back to zero curves.
  13. So, ejected, and was watching my recently departed aircraft head straight for the ground, nearly nose first, probably going somewhere around 700kph... Then it bounces off the ground in one piece, then a few more times, before coming to rest as a whole aircraft. Apparently the damage modeling is not being applied once you eject. No biggie but got some laughs out of me. The damage model appeared to work fine as long as I was actually in and flying the aircraft.
  14. The day is nearly upon us. Well done.
  15. Argh. They slaughtered the ID's on that site. The two outside birds are A's. Mid-left is a C, and mid-right is a B.
  16. Were they pics of Nellis at one point? Because all I see are two pics of Creech.
  17. Tonopah Test Range. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonopah_Test_Range_Airport
  18. A few UAVs fit that shape, Phantom Ray being one.
  19. Are there any plans to include TTR at a later time?
  20. Been going to 104th again after a while, and the server will be full (20+) and only one or two souls on the TS.
  21. If you know Spey, you know Boyd, and then you know where they're coming from, and from that perspective, what he's saying makes a certain kind of sense. The problem is, those views are 30 years old.
  22. To expect anything even approaching scientific discussion is a pipe dream. Not even real intelligence analysts work with data that good.

Also look at this from a game designer perspective. You're expanding exponentially a system that's already there, and heavily interacts with another (AI) that will need to be revamped to interface properly. If something fails in this new system, it can completely break the game. You're adding another level of complexity for the development team to track. You also have to iron out the interaction between FC3 and DCS level aircraft. On top of this, you're adding another level of complexity onto the players, requiring them to support a system that requires a fair amount of coordination(MP)/documentation(SP) and interaction to use correctly, and if the players get it wrong, it could potentially break entire missions/MP sessions. Compare this now to the benefit that players are going to receive from having such a system implemented. Is it still worth it after all that to develop the system when what is in place now, although simplified heavily, works?
  24. And the Su-25 has iiiiiiity bitty legs.
