Slats deploying at high speed ?
alfredo_laredo replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in Bugs and Problems
The airflow parallel and opposite to the direction of flight is the relative wind, within this airflow its the wing, generating lift. The imaginary line between the leading edge and the trailing edge of the wing its called "chord line" The angle between the relative wind and the chord line its the angle of attack. The maximun angle of attack at wich the wing its capable of generating sufficient lift to sustain flight is the critical angle of attack. When the angle of attack exceeds the critical angle of attack the aircraft stalls. So.... You never heard of stall AOA. well thats because its simplier to know and for the pilot read the stall speed. remember not all aircrafts have an AOA indicator. your statement of If we have enough airspeed, we will have lift, the AoA is indiferent, we only need a enougt powerfull engine its wrong. If you have enough speed, you will keep the AOA in its limits (because of lower AOA). AOA its never indiferent. and you dont need a powerfull enough engine, better speaking you need anough Airspeed (more relative wind) Now you may be confused with this. AOA its not the angle between the wing and the grond horizon. You can have a plane flying 90° up and still have a lower AOA. or in your case a level flying with high AOA (flat spin) por example. A lot... Aoa its the angle between the relative wind and the chord of the wing -
First of all, if this was a suicide, this is not a normal case. There are thousands of planes flying right now with a lot of depressed and even suicidal pilots out there but none of them are trying to kill themselfs with 150 passanger on board. I think the solution to this issue its better medical checkups, better company policies on psychology issues on their pilots. Now as a real life pilot, I completly understand the issues of not wanting to express any phisical or psychological issues to your Aviation Medic or the company. You may loose your license, your work. The nonsense of a pilot always being at his 110% during all flights its just wrong, thats why we have two persons crews, several software and hardware working for us etc. Obviously if I had depression like in a suicidal way and I tell the company I work for.. Ill loose my job instantly, If I tell that in my medical I would be marked as not fit to fly. But depression doesnt come out of nowhere, and if not checked and not attended can lead to this kind of accidents. But pilots we are all afraid of comming up and saying "you know what? Ive been feeling sad" And thats were the problem really starts. In a perfect world you would come up and say it.. at the beginning of it and the company will understand it and the FAA will understand it and get help, and if you get better be able to keep your job. In the end, the airline have spend thousands of dollars training a single pilot. why not also spend a little in detecting and resolving phisical and psychological conditions? and try to solve them before they decide to terminate them But in a lot of countries the bar its much much lower, I once knew an arline pilot that lost its license because he lost half his index finger in an accident (non aviation related). the excuse was that he wasnt able to use the PTT!!! Everyday pilots are working more hours and getting less pay.

And another bug. Using the squelsh switch in the mig 21 creates a constant static (apart from the mig 21 squelsh switch) (you hear 2 different statics) and the problem its one of them just keeps sounding even turning the aircraft off. You need to change slot to stop it.

Yes. Remove horizontal calculation as the game master from ts. But still had several crashes of ts during the mission. Cant wait for the new version. Thanks

That solved the problem.. Thanks Today tested again with 2 A-10C, 2 Mig21 and a Su25. No issues with flooding. just we all crashed from TS during the mission, we tried several times to reconnect TS and keep crashing.. It took a few tries to make it stable again for the mission.

A few questions... 1.-What TS version is recommended? 2.-we are getting this error in ts "Action currently not possible due to spam protection. Please wait a few seconds and try again." 3.- We manually change the quality settings in the congif file to this [soundMod] VHF_AM = 10 UHF_AM = 10 VHF_FM = 10 BkGndStrength=1.000000 and audio quality its much better but when changing slots audio quality goes down...

This is a most! as visual representation of coolant exhaust its important to avoid engine overheating! thanks this is looking at. Hope DCS2.0 brings all this features at the table
