  1. Posted this suggestion twice before. Really hope they see it and make it happen. We operate the Huey in DCSW in modern scenario's most of the time. There should be an enforceable option in the ME to turn it off in order to create a Nam scenario for example. A GPS strapped to the leg or attached to the dash or windscreen is already great!
  2. Practise. It takes me little effort to land having practised FF to hover transition alot
  3. It still feels as if RPM is decreasing too fast. I follow the official recommendations from the official UH-1H / UH-1V manual. Tried both optimal glide ratio (80 kts IAS) and optimal vertical speed (50 kts IAS). Optimal rotor RPM for both is 314 RPM. I start leveling at 200ft and start adding collective at 50ft. All by the book and the result is a perfect landing with some forward sliding. If I try to achieve a stop in mid-air (few ft above the ground) the helicopter goes brick mode as soon as I try to settle it down from a hover. Even my RC heli's with carbon fiber blades have more reserves...
  4. I can perform normal auto's all day now without losing parts. It's just the sliding when I settle it down that I cannot prevent from happening. If I aim for a full stop a few feet above the ground to settle it down in a hover (which should be possible) I need more collective than I have available to make it somewhat soft...
  5. I use it for auto's. Emergency mode - cut throttle and perform the auto. Saves you another startup.
  6. I think governor is always used with max throttle. Manual governor mode is called 'emergency' for a reason.
  7. So it is normal that the Huey is not capable of doing a full down auto with landing from hover? I don't think so... Or am I the limitation? Anyway I would like to see a track of someone doing this type of auto. No sliding, but landing from hover.
  8. Hey, I'm having some second thoughts about autorotations. I have never been able to do a full down auto without sliding forward at the end. Putting it on the ground from a hover should be possible right? RPM loss seems to be far too rapid when not in forward flight. Someone here told this story about an instructor that claimed he could power up the heli, cut the throttle, lift off, rotate 360 degrees and land safely. If I raise the collective to max after cutting the throttle it wouldn't even let me do a bunny hop. I stay where I am. Something is not really accurate here or am I missing something?
  9. M60 infinity sight for pilot is not (yet!) implemented. So probably WIP...
  10. Vortex Ring State* The result is something in the vertical plane though :smilewink:
  11. $75000 is a bit ambitious based on experience with the Mig-21 project which raised $15144 in one month. This project was announced two weeks ago and doesn't even have it's own sub-forum yet. When the Mig-21 pre-order was launched, the project was already announced some time ago and many pictures and development updates were available that made people confident enough to pre-order it. Now I'm not so sure. I hope Kinneyinteractive will not dissappear as IRIS Simulations did and if the goal is not met I do hope that development continues. I'd really like to see this project evolve in a great DCS module!
  12. It's indeed a bit slower on startup. But nowhere near the 5 minutes I've seen people talking about. Hope ED releases another update that adresses this issue... Wags said no content changes... Then why are comms on the Russian side now in Russian with the same settings? And I'm not the only one who has experienced this. So please give us that changelog!
  13. Really looking forward to this. This is most likely going to be the next fighter of the Dutch Air Force if all goes well. An extra reason to like this module. But I am a bit skeptic about how detailed this module can be due to classified information. I uderstand that stealth capabilities cannot be simulated but only guessed. I do hope however that the FM is true AFM and that all avionics are 100% accurate.
  14. There may be more interesting choices, but if it's like the Huey it's going to awesome anyway. + I like rockets :)

    Mind blown

    Thanks. Very interesting!
  16. Could have been already answered but: Does this mean that Flaming Cliffs will stop existing after all these modules are released?
  17. I recommend the Thrustmaster T16000 to anyone. Long throw which is good for a helicopter and magnetic sensors. Haven't seen a single stutter or inconsistency not even around the center. There may be even better joysticks but not for under $100...
  18. Search for the name of the .wav file in the DCS World\Sound folder. Then open the file with the .sdef extension and edit it.
  19. Find the corresponding .sdef file and increase the gain setting. Much cleaner.
  20. - AI door gunners and copilot - Communicating crew members (If I were a door gunner, I'm not going to keep my mouth shut if I see a flash followed by a smoke trail with a missile up front that is going to intercept us) - Realistic GPS system attached to window, dash or strapped to the legs. Mission designer must be able to turn these extra avionics on or off. This allows the mission designer to create a Vietnam scenario as well as fit the Huey in a modern-day scenario. - Integrate the Huey in the warehouse & supply system to allow real transport missions that can influence the course of battle - Medevac for ejected pilots (both client and AI pilots) - The trees of course! - Add a winch. Want to see some fast-roping! - The coalitionaddgroup should be integrated in the ME to allow lua noobs like me to create a mission like Hueydrop (see Uh-1h missions thread). And when that is done Belsimtek may continue with the Mi-8.
  21. The KM is the NATO compatible version with avionics designed by Elbit systems Ltd from Israel. Would be the perfect match for the A10C. The SM is maybe a better idea to provide the A10C with an opponent. But the plain Su-25 is also great as rockets are the most important part of all my payloads :)
  22. I considered myself a master in the KA-50, could do anything. Backward landing on a moving ship was no problem. I experience quite the opposite. It feels and looks terrible, flying the Shark. Flying the Huey is now getting really 'pro'.
  23. They are basicly going to add AFM to the existing FC3 Su-27 and F-15C and sell it as a module. WHY NOT do the same for the Su-25? I mean: it's already done so please, please sell it as a standalone module for around $10.
  24. You mean this one? It's somewhere on that page so lets help you out a bit. Copy the image url by right-clicking and use the insert image option...
  25. Ohhh gotta watch that again!
