I hereby welcome you to the DCS forums, where opinions are only valid if they're positive.

GoodDriver, i agree completely with you, however i wouldnt say the mig 21 and f86 are training jets. (arguably the F86 could be seen as one in the DCS context) When i think of these training jets being added in DCS:W i think back to before DCS:W and imagine them as standalones , like the shark and A-10 were. Think about it , imagine a standalone sim based on a training jet , how many people would buy that? I dont think alot. But somehow becouse its incorporated in World its fine... I'm probably coming over as disrespectfull , but i'm not. If people want to spend time and money developing a training jet simulator (the whole idea behind a "training jet simulator" just seems weird, imo) its up to them. I personally wont buy it. And i'm not picky at all when it comes to sims , i'll take almost anything i can get. Hell , i even learned how to fly helo's just to buy the huey. I just don't understand why in a digital simulator , we need training jets.. like someone else said earlyer , we can train with the actual aircraft , why bother flying a trainer? I'm not sure how a training jet "trainer campaign" would be any different or better then a training campaign in a real aircraft. Again , i'm not saying people can't develop trainers if they want to. I feel like on these forums i have to say that multiple times or a posse will come after me. Oh , and people who are saying that 3d party devs need to make something easy (easy as in , not complex avionics) to get used to DCS programming and/or to make money is 100% correct, however there are more things then just trainers they could be doing. Not every aircraft is an A10. EDIT : Oh , and i dont see trainers as civilian aircraft , at all. I would LOVE some civilian aircraft like C-130s or .. well anything big really. A training jet is completely different.

I didnt say anything before becouse i didnt wanna be "that guy" but i completely agree. I dont understand why anyone would want to fly a trainer aircraft in a sim ... i was fine with the hawk becouse i thought it would only be one , and since they're a pretty famous aircraft , but now that there's 3 i'm quite confused what their devs are thinking

I also agree , the part about the config file is VERY usefull. Will changing this make it so you cant join certain multiplayer servers anymore?
-
Even though i didn't like it that much (i set my own expectations WAY too high) i will get in on PC no question.

 lol , it took me about 30 seconds to realise that Vapor's first picture on page 1 isnt actually some weird external pod with wheels but another SU25
-
More specifically the SU-25. I like the 25 alot , but i feel like the approach while launching laser guided missiles is very dangerous. I like using my A-10 as a sort of UAV , staying high and dropping LGB's and employing mavericks. (Yes , yes , i know the A10 was designed to be used at low altitude). So , would it be possible for an A-10 to lase a target that the 25's missiles can home on? I would assume it has something to do with the laser code , but i'm not really in the know as to how laser guided missiles exacly work. Is there even a way to find out your 25's laser code? Thanks in advance. McBlemmen

July also doesn't mean july first... worst case scenario we have to wait a month and 3 weeks T_T Well , worst case scenario would be it getting delayed , but that woulnd't happen to a DCS module.. right? Right? :(

What DCS aircraft do you enjoy flying the most?
McBlemmen replied to Zakatak's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I really cant choose one.. but my favorites are the 33 (wich i'll never fly again after one of the F-18s comes out , lol) the A10C and the Huey. They're all so different its almost impossible to name a single favorite one -
If by that you mean the 33 will also get an AFM when the 27 does , i wouldn't count on it. I think the whole carrier takeoff and landing aspect of the 33 makes its FM quite a bit more complex
-
There is no difference. I think they will end up releasing every FC3 AC as a standalone, and then take FC3 off the market and then they'll earn more money/ Mo money mo sims.

Absolutely

Absolutely. Even if it turns out bad , i would still do it just to support them becouse their previous modules were so amazing.

Is that a joke or does it actually say that somewhere?

Default View when spawn in zooms in and out?..
McBlemmen replied to Snacko's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Really? This is the worst thing in the game? A little camera annoyance that takes a few seconds? I guess the game doesnt have any real problems after all if this is the worst thing. -
Its great for slew controls , awkward at first but great once you get used to it
-
Ah sweet! I saw people say a campaign isnt important but i completely dissagree , shipping a game without campaign is shipping an unfinished game. Love it. The campaign was to be added at a later date , not on release.

What controls should be mapped to Joystick
McBlemmen replied to thdman1511's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Slew , TMS , DMS , and coolie hat switch should be on the HOTAS. Also wichever CMS switch releases CMS (sorry , i dont remember off the top of my head wich one it is) Also , i dont know if you have a pinky switch , but if you do , it essentially doubles your HOTAS keys available. You might (not 100% sure since i havent done this mysellf) use a keyboard modifier along with a hotas key to get even more hotas functions so you can keep one hand on the stick and one on the keyboard. Usefull for things like trim. Edit :wow , just noticed this is not in fact in the A-10 forum. My bad. If you're talking about the SU25t, my suggestion would be slew , target lock , switch weapon , cannon , release countermeasures and activate laser. If you have more keybindings available i like to have my TGP toggle and ELINT pod toggle on there aswell. -
Poll answers are pretty extreme , i'm indifferent. I welcome a new map any day , but dont need it asap.

Don't count on it.

More wingflex - flex on tails and fuselage too
McBlemmen replied to NRG-Vampire's topic in DCS Wishlist
Is sorcer3r's post bugging out for anyone else? Anyway , i totally agree. I had never thought about this untill i played BMS and instantly noticed the stores and wings shaking , now i'm really disaapointed this doesnt happen in DCS Let's hope ED knows that people want this and have it on their to-do list. -
I've not looked into how becouse i dont care , but you can definately already get them somehow. Early versions

Was a F35 module ever possible at all? I thought it was all extremely classified.. i saw a video just earlyer (one of the "F35 is a lemon" videos) and the camera crew wasnt even allowed to see the rear of the aircraft after it had parked... I mean how do you build a sim on something so classified?
