Very toonish looking, and Arma already has that small of a map covered. Basically, unless I missed some realism simulation, its just Arma.

:doh: Yeah, I've experienced that with BS. Direct hit with a fragmentation rocket 2 feet from an AA soldier. He just kept standing there. Very Annoying.

I tried it when I first got BS. It sucks. There's just to many controls to try to do at once. Rudder became a huge problem. Just get a Saitek or other "somewhat cheap" joystick. I know joysticks have become a little expensive of late. If you have a game port still, I recommend the Raptor Fire Stick. I picked up one for $9 a few years ago. EXCELLENT joystick. Has a rubber collar on it that gives you just enough tension for good control. Eight buttons and an 8-way coolie hat give you some good control options.

Exactly! Why in the HELL do you have to have that ancient game to play FC3? That's a sales killer.

This is what DCS needs and what 99% of gamers want. We want a realistic BATTLEFIELD! Its why no one wants to buy these sims and why no one plays online. There are plenty of FPS gamers who would LOVE to learn to fly real aircraft, but the lack of any realistic vehicle and infantry modules, no enter-able buildings, and the lack of any good terrain/graphics totally TURNS THEM OFF! Back they go to BF3/BF4! DCS needs to be the new EVOLUTION in FPS/Flight Sim, not just a better 90's flight simulator. We need to be the new step-up from the old, tired ARMA. I am putting a lot of hope in what abilities EDGE might bring. I hope its good enough.

Hmm, I actually put some R-73's on my wingie's BS pylons once. And he used them to my surprise! So, its possible. But you can't put any new weapons on the aircraft YOU fly, because there is no FCS for them. If I remember right, you go into the LUA code and add the CLSID code for them into what weapons are available for that aircraft. You'll see a list of them in the code. Just add it in. Sorry, I don't remember where exactly I put them in, or how I got the information. I think someone on the board gave the information. When you get it all done, you can choose the new weapons from the available weapons list in the game. After adding them to my wingie's pylons, he managed to shoot down an attacking F-15! Maybe not so realistic, but fun! Personally, I think the Shark could carry short range IRs if it was given the proper fire control systems for it. One in the group armed with them would be a good defense against an attacking fighter.

Yeah, the one thing Falcon has that ED doesn't. Still, those 90's graphics...:cry:

I'm waiting for a summer sale also. Too poor to buy them at original price. Can barely afford the laptop I have. $10 each would be nice.

Actually, the ranging laser takes a lot more energy ( and heat ) than the laser tunnel that guides the missile, because the ranging laser has to be strong enough to reflect back to the helicopter. The missile tunnel is weaker because it just has to get to the missile. Thats why its the ranging laser that tends to burn out with over usage. Edit: Aghh, Phoenix beat me to it.

DRM is about piracy. And its fail. A-10 and BS were cracked long, long ago. And a handful of people downloaded them. And probably threw it off their computers when they found out it was a hard study sim. The point is, DRM only hurts us, the paying customers. Only serious people buy this game and those types can afford it. The COD / McDonald's worker types that pirate would never have bought this game. DRM is un-waranted since it only causes pain to the real players and is near insta-cracked by the pirates anyway.

Lol, just came across this post. This game doesn't need DRM. If you look around on the pirate sites, NO ONE is trying to pirate this game. NO ONE. We are beyond NICHE. I remember a few years ago a few people did pirate BS1 ( probably about 10 people ) and maybe a handful A-10, but thats it. And they probably lost interest in about 5 minutes. This game is so dead online that I wish someone WOULD pirate it. At least we might convince one or two to learn the controls and stay. So please, ED, ditch the uber strong DRM already. No one wants to pirate this game. All the pirates are simpletons who are into Battlefield and COD. Your only causing the paying customers PAIN. And believe me, StarForce is a PAIN IN THE ASS.

Lol, let me rephrase Greece sucks. I meant the "map" in Arma 3 SUCKS. Hopefully Greece doesn't look anything like the map, because it reminds me of the scrub of my Texas homeland. Which also sucks. Arma 3 is still using a 12 year old engine that still sucks. Its clunky at best. I can't believe that this is all Bohemia has done since the release of Arma II 5 years ago. At least they could have come up with a newer, more modern engine. A modded Cryengine 2 or Frostbite engine would have been good. Hopefull, DCS' new edge engine will be good enough to allow FPS in. Flighsim only was dead a decade ago. REALISTIC flightsim and realistic FPS together would be outstanding.

Well, its not like Arma 3 is any "new engine". Same ol shit, same ol bugs. They just upped the graphics resolution and gave us a few new shiny poses. And THIS took them like 3 years? AND GREECE sucks!

LOL, you're beating around the bush again, dude! But is "ED" making it? People like me aren't so trusting about 3rd party. Were really wanting to know what the next plane from "ED" is.

Right now I'm betting on HL3, because there's been no word of a new plane from ED for 3 years now. Its starting to look like ED is just going to work on FC3 and let all the third parties make everything else. Which IMO would be disastrous! Come on ED, announce your next plane already, if you have one in development even. Were beginning to wonder. edit: Lol, agree about the 802u. Looks like an armed crop duster.

What do you mean? The guy is spot on. We have been waiting for what seems FOREVER for information on the next plane. Its gotten down right booorish. I rarely visit the forums anymore. DCS seems to have come down to a bunch of hype and fleeting promises. One wonders if you guys are solvent anymore. Promises, promises, but no product in sight.
