Try these. First and last videos are the most important. Always roll in, if you're interestested in reallity. You can cage on the dive. Release when exactly on target. Consent when ready, or when pip goes out. 25 deg dives are easier than steep dives. Keep some power on. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=165597 ..

Even with only 1 Spitfire sitting on a runway. VRAM is 8123 gb, RAM 15589 gb, PF 20033 gb. (This max VRAM also occurs by simply using the mission editor without flying it). Hopefully, optimisation will reduce this. For comparison, Caucasus is 5215, 10717 and 14915 respectively. This Channel map is crying out for a :------ Beaufighter. Typhoon. German bomber. Biggin Hill is coming. But if we get Duxford, this would meen a massive push North, way beyond the undeveloped present border. Given the complexity of the present map, this sounds like a big job. ..

Duxford is well off the map, but Biggin Hill is coming. ..

UGRADE TO A 500gb SSD or go to 32gb RAM

SSD, is a must. .. -
I have 7 Steam client WebHelpers which are taking my 600 mb and I have been unable to get rid. Anybody? ..

I have no problems at all running DCS on 8 mb and never have on my 9 year old system, but I want every mb I can get and this info might be useful to others, (but I do have more RAM on the way). P.S. It arrived as I was writing this. Testing them on my mission. 37 planes in a furball over the Channel, on a Blue attack against ground targets at Dunkirk, plus 4 Ju-88 against 1 LST off Ramsgate. F2-ing between planes, with 8 gb RAM, would result in a hesitation loading that next plane. but now it's instant. Good result. VRAM is topped at 8 gb, RAM at 16 gb and Commit Charge is still at around 24 gb. which surprised me, but it all runs smooth. For comparison using Caucasus (Stable) with a 125 a.i. mission. VRAM 8gb, RAM 12 gb, C C 20 gb, Running smooth. (The RAM removed was, Kingston Hyper X Genesis 8 gb DDR3 1600 KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX). It's always worked very well with DCS. Sorry to see it go really. I loved that old RAM. RAM added. Corsair Vengence PRO DDR3 16 gb. ..

A little note for anybody who visits Steam and has only 8 gb RAM. Steam uses about 600 mb RAM (6%). Channel Map uses all RAM, plus all VRAM and with about 40 planes and various ships and vehicles about 24 gb PFile. When you exit Steam, it continues to use that RAM in the background, so it needs to be disabled in the tray to free those mbs. You need every megabyte you can get, to make it run smooth. ..

The grass runways are modelled as ordinary grass, which has a high drag factor, rather than a hard area. This means that a crash is inevitable when trying to take off or land, other than on the concrete. I guess it will be updated, as this was the scramble area from the dispersals. Rochester is the same. The airfield is in place, but is unuseable due to the draggy grass. Hopefully this will also be updated. ..

I pitted 16, Blue Spitfire/P-47/P-51, against 16, Red 109/A-8/D-9, on Channel Map. At 6500', 16500', and 26500'. At all altitudes, the Blues wiped the floor with the Reds every time. I don't know what this proves, but I was expecting a much closer match. Reduce the Blue to 12, they still won easily. Very entertaining watching. ..

Luckily for you, you have exactly what you want. A sandbox. Even in the unlikely event that all the wishlist was incorporated, you would still have exactly what you require and so would I. BTW. I can fly over and land at my house in FSX. ..

Notes. Updated Suggestions for WW2 era wishlist. SE England only. Remove all modern housing estates and Industrial/Retail parks, built in the 1980's, mainly in the west. E.g. Crowborough, which was a small village in the 40's. Remove Sovereign Marina, built in the 90's (essential). Add beach defences Include all 20 airfields. (Era changer is on the cards, so these will probably be selective). Add Martello Towers. Add Piers: Eastbourne, Deal. Newhaven: Breakwater. Add Fort. Remove Ind Estates/retail parks. Add Cliffs westwards. Add jetties in harbour. Seaford Head. Add cliffs and cottages. (German nav point). Add Cathedral Canterbury, Rochester. Add Leeds Castle. Bodiham Castle. Add Woolwich Arsenal. Ford Motor Works, Purfleet Refinery, (London Targets). Add windmills. Add Apple orchards and Hop fields, which dominated the countryside in North Kent. ( before the EU removed them). Dungeness: Remove Nuclear power station and Lydd on Sea. Add RH&D Railway. Hope & Anchor pub. Remove large reservoirs (1970's). Add Belle Tout. Add. Whitstable Harbour. Remove eyesore triangle ind est, 2.8 nm west of Headcorn, among many others. Add Rochester civil airfield. (Scrub that. It's already there and I just landed on it. Large circle with ROCHESTER underneath. Neat!) Edit: Scrub that scrub. It's not possible to land Spit without damage, due to sticky ground causing a nose over, so add Rochester airport smooth grass surface. Improve Cliffe explosive factory. Add missing CH and CHL radars. Improve KG V dock. (London City Airport). Add Merchant shipping, Navy shipping, any shipping! (rare in DCS). Replace Russian Diesel loco and rolling stock, with Steam era trains. TBC.

This is typical of the defences on the South Coast and would enhance the feel of a WW2 experience, which it doesn't have at the moment. (My mum use to work at the Grand Hotel in the photo). ..

There are very few iconic town features on any part of the map, but hopefully this will improve, based on peoples suggestions. The part I'm interested in, the Dunkirk Harbour dock layout, is pretty good. The only harbour I don't like, is Newhaven. ..

That dispersion has already happened in this map. Take Crowborough as an example, depicted as a high density town, when in fact it was a small village centered on the crossroads and well dispersed single houses in the background. Compare it to your 1938 map on your kneeboard. You must Have WW2 assets. All I've got are Russian ChME3 Diesel trains. Edit: Change mission date to 1944, to get steam trains. ..

I'm running OK with the settings as shown and running on 8 gb. (24 ai planes). I'm not saying I couldn't do with a bit more, but at the moment, I'm OK. ..

Yes, you're right. It's the NATO version with the extended runway. ..

@ dis80786. You can scratch Tilbury Power, as it was post war and replace it with another important target in the London area, such as Ford Motor Works. ..
