[NO BUG]S75 SAM (SA-2) Rearming Time
Holbeach replied to Thax's topic in Ground AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Make sure crew is on expert (excellent). This determins reload time. Edit: Confirmed. 45 min reload time on Excellent. .. -
The one thing that got rid of all my stutters was this. Move DCS from HDD to new 500gb SSD. 56 quid and all stutters were gone. If you can't do it, then HDD simply isn't fast enough to load assets. ..

I've flown the Harrier 3 times that distance, with a bomb load, attacked the target and landed back at base, with no tanks and no re fuelling. The Harrier has higher than realistic fuel consumption, but especially high at full throttle, so keep out of that area if you want range. ..

AGM 65G delivery, Memory Aid. IRMV Target Designation and Lock-on When ready to engage a target, the IRMV should be selected and RDY. Left stores page. Menu/Stores/IRMV/AG/Master Arm/ 1. Press the [Cage/Uncage] HOTAS Button to activate IRMV Video in the LEFT MPCD. 2. The missile seeker will be slaved to the HUD’s VVM. The VVM will show a second circle to indicate that the IRMV seeker is slaved. 3. On the HUD the Missile Type legend will show the letter U, for uncaged. 4. Press the [sensor Select FWD: INS. IRMV/EOMV] HOTAS Button to select the IRMV seeker as the selected sensor. IRMV label will appear on the IRMV video page. 5. The pilot can designate a target by two methods: a. By placing the HUD’s VVM on top of the target. In the IRMV Video page, the target will be in the center of the crosshairs. To command lock press the [TDC Down (Action Position)] HOTAS Button. The seeker will attempt lock as soon as the button is released. b. By slewing the seeker by using the TDC button/axis. The seeker will attempt lock as soon as the button/axis is released. 6. The seeker can be slewed after a target lock is achieved. In which case the lock is cleared and a new lock is attempted. NOTE If the IR Maverick seeker fails to achieve lock or the lock is lost, the crosshairs will retract to the edges of the IRMV video display. They will remain there until the seeker is reset by either pressing the [AG Target Undesignate/NWS/FOV Toggle] HOTAS button or by slewing the seeker with the TDC buttons. Shoot when INRNG on HUD. 4 x T-90 mobile. DMT lock can be achieved around 8.5 nm. Adding a Tor to the tanks, alters the situation somewhat. If it's stationary, a Sidearm will deal with it easily. If it's on the move, Sidearm won't hit it, so after a lock, wait a short time for it to stop, then prepare to shoot. Shoot 2 Sidearm, then slice away. It will launch, but hopefully it will be destroyed before its missiles hit you and they will destruct. --Video-- ..

You are correct, but for some of us the pinky has to be enabled in the profiler first or it won't show. It dosn't apply to everybody. Afterwards, you then apply it as you stated. ..

X-52 pinky switch shift. No. 6 is the pinkie. You have to assign it in the Saitek programmer before it will work in DCS. Open profile editor, switch to grid view. Delete the Mode 1 + Pinkie, Mode 2 + Pinkie, Mode 3 + Pinkie. Save the profile with a name and close. Enable the saved profile for DCS. This will enable your pinkey to be used as a modifier in DCS. (It sometimes gets corrupted with updates). ..

From. Squadron 73, Italy and Yugoslavia. (Similar tactics). Carrying 2 x 250 lb bombs. the Spitfire made a very fine dive bomber. We normally operated in sections of 4 and would fly to the target at 10,000 ft. in finger 4 battle formation. As the target came into view, I would position it so that it appeared to be running down the line of my port cannon. When the target emerged from under the trailing edge, I would pull the aircraft up, roll it over on its back and let the nose drop until the target was lined up in the gunsight graticule. That way, one got the Spitfire to go down at the correct angle of dive of 60 degrees. The other aircraft in the section, Nos 2, 3, and 4 would be following me down, still in echelon. When the leader's dive took him to an altitude of 4,000' AGL he released his bombs. I would let go my bombs and call "Bombs gone!" The other chaps in the section released theirs. ..

Here's my post from some time ago. SA-2 combo. 50000' Launch, 25 nm. (F-15). 40000' Launch, 34 nm. (ECM 21.0 nm). 30000'Launch, 25 nm. (ECM 16.0 nm). 10000' Launch, 19 nm. (ECM no launch / 6.5 nm). 1000' Launch, 8.0 nm (ECM 6.6). KILL. This is the only way to get killed. Head on straight into its face. 500'. No launch. You don't need any countermeasures with this one, it will never hit you. Missile will always pass behind on a lag persuit. Devs say, "it's working as intended". Found a plane it can kill. A-10 is slow enough for it to get near enough for the proxy fuse to go off, but not in a crossing situation. Load the Harrier with a decent weight to slow it down and it might have a chance. Pity such a good looking rocket, has such poor performance in DCS, despite having a huge number of kills IRL, maybe more than any other SAM in history. It had a huge damage blast radius, which increases with altitude, something that is poorly represented in DCS. ..

Jammer pod results, for your pleasure:- Waypoint launch distances. All flights are Harrier, S & L, full power and direct. ECM pod on RCV. Harrier. Moskva, SA-10B (should be SA-N-6) Grumble. 41300' Av/Ex, 40.3 nm. 26000' Av/Ex 35.3 nm. (ECM 28.0 nm). 6000' Av/Ex 29.0 nm. (ECM 23.0 nm). Therefore, Average and Excellent skill are identical. (ECM on, in brackets). Different skill sets, are relate to reload times. 50'................No launch. Su 34, distances were slightly longer, about 2 nm. Harrier / Pyotr Velikiy. 40000' 85 nm. (Note P.V. SA10-N-6 Grumble, 69 nm. Interestingly, When attacking the Pyotr. V. from a longer range, (100 nm), it detected and fired the shorter range, SA-10B Grumble at 40 nm. I've never seen this before and it shouldn't have this model. SA-N-6: 69 nm. (ECM 32 nm). SA-10B: 39 nm. (ECM 25 nm). Flying against a SA-11 set from 40000' and 80 nm. Launch at 21 nm. With ECM on, launch at 12 nm. Missile can also be made to destruct by turning on ECM after launch. Harrier v SA-15 solo. (Adding search radar made no difference). 30000' No launch. 10500', 30 nm, launch at 8.7 nm. With ECM 5.0 nm. SA-10B Grumble, land template. 40000'. Launch at 40.0 nm, With ECM, 29.5 nm. Turn on ECM ater launch. 1st missile destruct 2nd missile missed. Handy to know, if you want to deplete stock before using chaff. SA-8. 10500'. Launch. 7.5 nm. 460'. Launch. 7.2 nm. (ECM 3.9 nm). SA-2 combo. 50000' Launch, 25 nm. (F-15). 40000' Launch, 34 nm. (ECM 21.0 nm). 30000'Launch, 25 nm. (ECM 16.0 nm). 10000' Launch, 19 nm. (ECM no launch / 6.5 nm). 1000' Launch, 8.0 nm (ECM 6.6). Pity such a good looking rocket, has such poor performance in DCS, despite having a huge number of kills IRL, maybe more than any other SAM in history. It had a huge damage blast radius, which increases with altitude, something that is poorly represented in DCS. SA-3 combo. 30000', Launch, 12.0 nm, (ECM 11.2). 20000', Launch, 12.3 nm, (ECM 11.4). 10000', Launch, 11.0 nm, (ECM 10.2). These were all much less distance than I expected, with the ECM making the least difference of all of them. Conclusion: ECM makes a big difference, with reduced detection and launch ranges in every case so far. Take a pod if you want an easier life. ..

Yes, I have both from about 2008. You say, not 5 years. What I'm trying to get at is how long from start to finish. The Harrier has been about 3 years in total, to its present state. ..

Ukraine Boeing 737 with at least 160 aboard crashes
Holbeach replied to Weta43's topic in Military and Aviation
A Ukrainian aircraft which crashed earlier this week in Iran had flown close to a sensitive military site belonging to the elite Revolutionary Guards and was shot down unintentionally due to human error, the Iranian military said in a statement read on state TV on Saturday. The responsible parties would be referred to a judicial department within the military and held accountable, the statement said. All 176 people on board were killed in the crash. The Iranian military statement expressed condolences to the families of the victims. The United States and Canada had said that the plane was shot down, a claim Iran had initially denied. .. -
