Bananabrai replied to Viper1970's topic in Deutsch
AFAIK MICA will not be an option on the F1M. It was first adopted with the M2000-5 if I am not mistaking. These missiles are relatively new, the MICA-RF is a FOX3, MICA-IR is pretty sophisticated FOX2.

Well, 2 month old Hope it gets solved, RWY in DCS generally should be treated differently. There should be no static 1h cool down.

Now: would I enjoy M2K if I love AJS-37?
Bananabrai replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in M-2000
True, I miss stated DEFA's being crab for AA. My skills + actually realistic pipper AFAIK + DM Maybe it's still a game limitation (the fusing thing) plus limitation of several aircrafts' damage model. There are other flying tanks in the game. -
More early Cold War and the Hawker Hunter
Bananabrai replied to irisono's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Ah, found it, 20 or 40mm Sparrows? Time stamp around 5:10. Don't forget a couple of SA-2 formed telephone boxes. -

and 30mm Spatzen. (How is the quote in the original language, always watched in German) -

C'mon, you can't tell me that 30mm is not making giant holes into thin metal paneled planes. Besides, formula of lethality (which of course I don't have in my head) clearly takes firing rate into account. DEFA is not too bad actually, just not M61'ish, which is ok for me. All in all you're still probably right, is a combination of my lack of skills, with the funky pipper and "the most realistic simulation of 30mm HE gun rounds, ever". -
Polychop Simulations OH-58D Kiowa
Bananabrai replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Absolutely agreeing. Now we could start a discussion, what is considered core functionality. Not kicking that one off though, leaving it for someone else, fuuuuuu, it's so tempting... Sorry, like I will stop to smoke this year, I will start having fun the right way from this day on, I promise! Anyone in for playing some ground aborts next THU? I have to admit, I cannot really read his English. I understood him the same way you did. Yes, it' awesome. We can actually play like GAF is cool...^^ But: - we can not use METEOR on the wings, GAF did't buy the launchers, - no, not use at all actually, not really working, - leave the FLIR off, - and might not use the radar for *censored* many sessions, Should be realistic then. -
Polychop Simulations OH-58D Kiowa
Bananabrai replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Ah ok, because DCS automatically equals WT in that case, didn't know that. Other option: A developer who is willing to do it, with the proposed options to restrict it. -
F/A-18D kommt ja jetzt wohl auch, coole Sache.

@Droggelkelch, der isch au in Güschtrow

I think there will also be an update early this year.

Polychop Simulations OH-58D Kiowa

I just feel like the puristic people are the louder crowd on the forums. There will always be 2 factions, 2 squadrons, 2 wings, 2 villages, next to each other... The checkbox option on the Viper showed perfectly that mission builders can be in control whether MilSim or Casual missions are wanted. The crying was big back then, but now it really seems like everybody is happy, so for me it does seem like a very good solution. On one hand I can fully understand that it takes time to program stuff out of scope, and it will always be up to the developer to decide. But something can be "the most realistic simulation of ... something" and give nice game play options for people with different taste at the same time, I believe in that. I like Milsim game play as well, I just also like to do it in RAF role, or GAF role, or JASDF role, etc. IRL, at least in European air forces, it happen several times that equipment was used that wasn't supposed to be used in the first place -> called "Einsatzsofortbeschaffung". Would translate to something like "immediate war time integration". What I am not happy with is: hardcore people trying to teach non hardcore people what fun is. And I don't have the impression that it is the other way round. Loadout checkbox, not using it, restriction by mission date, there are already good solutions to solve this an make both factions happy. It just feels like loosing for the hardcore village for some reason. -
Announcing the F-4 Phantom for DCS World!
Bananabrai replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Kusnezow confirmed the second time! -
I know that there is different L's. Germany (Diehl Defence) for example builds L's that are almost up to M capabilites, the older L's should be less capable. But I don't know details. A 'P' would be nice for rear aspect only, and maybe a P5. Both are in game already.

Good point. I guess I was confused entirely. Didn't realize it. Would be nice to have L available for the Harrier as well.

Cockpit FAM and The Sight Head in Air to Air Modes Reference
Bananabrai replied to Panny's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
1nm = 1,852km 1sm = 1,609km My dad always used to teach me this thumb rule for quick reference: 1nm, x2, -10% ->km 1mile, x2, -20% ->km Works the other way round as well of course, km /2 +10% -
