WW2 Marianas, 2023 and beyond video question. Need airfield name!
Bananabrai replied to Stratos's topic in F4U-1D
Exactly this! And the shots that @Nick_17 posted on tuesday perfectly match. -
Don't get too exited. The picture at the top is very enthusiastic. Theoratically EF is a multi purpose platform. But most of these weapons were never even test fitted, there is no code in the aircraft to handle it, there were no seperation tests, flight tests, etc. Paveway IV Paveway II MK83/84 GBU 38 JDAM ALARM Anti radiation missile TAURUS KEPD 350 Stormshadow Brimstone JSOW AGM-65 Mavrick Crv-7 Rocket Pods (unguided) BL755 (available but not used by any operators) NSM Penguin (available but not used by any operators)null AGM-88C HARM (available but not used by any operators) BGT High Performance PEnetrator (available but not used by any operators) -> never heard of that one BGT High Performance Explosive Bomb (available but not used by any operators) -> never heard of that one

I still wish for deck crew on the Forrestal (and Tarawa, Invincible and future carriers, Enterprise would be awesome) I think it's ok to have the LSO station as well as coming features such as elevators, AirBoss and Briefing room as discrimnators/exclusives for the SC module. But the deck crew by now really feels not like an optional nice to have any more, but really necessary. One can still hope.

Taurus is overrated. It's still nice, but not fully integrated so far. On TOR it is fully pre-planned weapon, it is not TOO such as SLAM, SLAM-ER or JSOW. Not sure if there is a DL between Taurus and Typhoon. Weapon was designed without data connection in mind. You bring it to the planned release point and drop it like a Mk-84. It does it's thing and you fly home. You'd have to plan everything in ME or maybe before engine start on the F10 map. Much like the Viggen data cartridge from F10 before start-up.

Sounds like you were too slow. Can't find the diagram now, but as a thumb rule, above 300 is almost necessary, above 350 is good. It was mentioned in the change logs that generators can now overheat quickly if you are too slow. There should be another topic around here with a similar issue, it still took some people by surprise.

Think the F-15 Release is/will have an Impact

Sounds like a lot of speculation. -
Pretty much no single player missions anywhere for this map?
Bananabrai replied to imacken's topic in South Atlantic
Yesterday I was looking for a nice SA server, but they seem to be rare. I liked the one with the Operation Wicker Hill (can't remember the server name, just the mission name) for some time, but lately we are very often on the Syria LK Flashpoint Levant and for me there is still a huge lack of such persistent servers. LK is very well received. I really like to feel the progress and being able to continue the progress where you stopped the evening before. I hope someone does a mission like this for SA. Awesome that you already adopted the new night lighting. -

I would say it fits pretty well, point 2 and 3 are very accurate, also the area behind the foreground Corsairs LH aileron fits well. Where in Guam is this, I can't quite get the perspective from the modern picture and guess where it is. Also looks like the vegetation seem lighter with some free area on the modern map, where the WW2 airfield used to be located. I think I have it, haha, it is actually Andersen, the area where the foreground Corsairs left wing / LH aileron is, transfered to the modern picture of course. Nice. -
Now I am even more confused^^ I need a diagram to understand the Viper's lights.

Hellau Mr. @MBot, tried to use the script now finally, but can't get it working. Tried a really easy setup. Then I tried your training mission, but it also doesn't work. Loaded the config before the main script, is it still working for you? PS.: By 'unit name' of the helo, you are talking about the field called 'pilot' I guess, right? Not the group name?

Think the F-15 Release is/will have an Impact
Bananabrai replied to Czechnology's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I think what the debate was about: There are certain people who will decide between one or the other, even though the like both. I can think of multiple factors: 1. They estimate their brain power to not suffice for 2 modules to learn. Such guys will eventually get both I guess. Similar reason: "hangar is too full". 2. They don't want to/can't spent the money for both immediately (in this case the first released could 'win') 3. They have no clue. Maybe their head compares an F-15B cockpit they saw somewhere with an F-4E Terminator 2020 or HAF Peace Ikarus pit^^. They just buy one. Several other combinations. I agree however that at least for the hardcores it is like you stated. I also think there should not be a "versus" and it isn't for the larger portion of DCS for sure. If you have the hobby, you normally know at least some stuff, and with that comes the knowledge to know the difference of these birds. -

Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17

Seems like you perfectly fit into how 'ignorant' is defined. Alawys nice. -

Same, but F-4 all the way. Just that much more iconic than more MFDs ^^ -
Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
Bananabrai replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
As an outside viewer of this (I am not very often here in this forum section, wasn't here for a year), I think you are completely right. I don't own the JF-17 and I have no plans on changing it, so let me take myself as perfect example. I am already that kinda guy, that almost buys every module, almost. But I am also one of those that has no connection to the Jeff. (And the MiG-21) So with that in mind, I have to say, I would buy a Su-30MKK, because of the reasons Coole stated. Maybe a J-10 would be tempting, I have a close work relationship with the Typhoon and in my teenage time we always "played" F-22 vs EF-2000 vs J-10, (although it makes little sense, but we didn't care and had no clue back then), but the EF is coming as well and I'd rather fight the J-10 than fly it. I just think it looks cool and that is a big thing for me personal, I usually don't buy stuff that I don't like the look of, and the other way round. A question to the guys that are more familiar within the eastern region, isn't there some kind of MiG-29 relative that could be doable? That would be a big seller. People would use it as stand in for many countries that used the -29. It's sad to admit, I like very specific & niche aircraft as well, but as a first project for a new 3rd party it really makes sense to model something that sells well. I think it really is a booster for the team, money wise and in terms of morale. But to me it seems the Jeff wasn't this, I don't know details though. It's just that I don't hear a lot from Deka and speculation is going on for some time now, isn't it? -
Some funny people posting classified info to make their argument?

Joke.

I simply love that old school stuff, that was high fidelity back then. EQ5/6 would be a dream, especially after accomplishing a deep strike mission with @Bremspropeller yesterday. 650nm round trip with low level attack run, short dogfight, no AAR, 800L to spare, just awesome this plane.

The pod under the belly is a LASER designator? If not, what is it and how did they operate the Kh-29L, AS-30L and LGBs?

I would say so as well

To make it clear for other readers. There is a difference between TA and TFR. Wags confirmed that there never was TFR. I hope they still consider TA, AFAIK it was part of the real deal.

Really hope that ED keeps working on this. They're making slow but steady progress in this regime. Torpedoes are here (even if a little buggy for now), subs are there and can dive already since some time now, ships attack stuff... it's getting somewhere. We need the Mk40 for the Tornado as well, or lets say my weapon list states 'Mk83 Mod 4' as a sea mine.

Although your aircraft cries at you with warnings and buffeting, you ignore all of it and keep pulling AoA in the red regime. How should it recover? You actually never leveled off. As well.

Bananabrai replied to Viper1970's topic in Deutsch
