I would rather like to see other aircraft than any particular other variant. Especially if they are as close together as stated here and only have minor differences. Don't think so. Of course there would be external differences between -7D and -7E, but the Phantom will have a completely different radar and nose section and no gun for example. If the 7D vs. 7E is about joining another tanker + turning doppler &/or something else off, I'll miss out. Sorry, I don't know any details, up to now nobody really explained here, what are the differences. I can still join a 135MPRS or KC-10, if they ever add that back to the game...

Lol, it is actually D for Feet and E for degree? Maybe that explains why I also never really figured it out. I tend to use 4 bar if I am not sure where the bandit is and 1 bar when I know where it is, while in both cases trying to be on a similar or same altitude as the bandit.

Funny, ok. Maybe ED knows its a map issue? Well, now that you are here, I don't feel like Ugra is really reading this bug section. Reported two lamp posts last year, never fixed. In contrary: Reported runway issues on South Atlantic map, Razbam fixed it almost immediately, even though they are also not very active in the forums. Try to find a desert building on the Persian Gulf Map, maybe the problem persists and tag a ED moderator to move it back.

IRL, depending on your radars frequency and the grain size of the grains of sand, it can absorb radar emission or not. A cube shaped building should still stand out, I guess. What aircraft were you using? All have different degree of fidelity more or less, some are bugged, etc.

Is something happening here? No offence, you guys probably are busy, but removing the lamp posts with another map update should work out, shouldn't it? Is there a better way to report bugs to Ugra? Are they more active on Discord or somewhere else? ILS glide slopes are also wind inverted in syria sometimes, but this could be a DCS issue, not sure about other maps.

I use this area as well, seems relatively realistic within the given constrains. We cannot make it more realistic if there was no real site, I guess. Mostly using the F3 sector, approaching from west to east, and then only using the tip/"horn" part a.k.a. Ponti bapa/Cape Arnaoutis or west ridge of the southbound arising ridge line. Have some concrete bunkers in the woods, a target circle and a small gun strafe thingy (476 range targets mod & non shooting CTFR faction M60A Pattons) There are also no villages nearby in DCS and even today IRL according to google maps Fontana Amorosa is on the other side of the mountain ridge and ok-ish away. The rest of the island is pretty populous. There is also LCT-TSA09 nowadays. So for me in my 1988 scenario it makes enough sense. (it's semi fictional at best anyway, I just took some real events and escalate it)

This is not exclusively for WW2 DCS and I am fed with people that are fed up. I think it makes sense to express the need for time appropriate "devices", models, maps, etc., but it makes no sense to rage about it. ED sees our messages, moderates are reading, they know this, they just decide differently for what ever reason and we should accept and continue our lives. I'd rather have a C-130H, fitting better to the scenarios in my head and to the other AI assets we have, etc. But probably something else sells better, or they have more info on something else, or SMEs know the newer stuff better, etc. Many reasons possible. They decide for some reason, any, we don't know why, but they do. Same probably counts for the Hellcat. Back to topic, can someone explain in detail what would be the differences between a -3 and a -5?

Are we not getting a J-8II as well? Everybody talks about the J-8PP but I understood we get this after the J-8II (which is the original designation of the J-8B, isn't it?) Sorry if I missed something, only read the topic starting from page 6 or 7, too much BS everywhere, but doesn't the B has Chinese avionics?

Wanted to post about this as well. For me it is always masked from 10ish to 2ish o'clock position, so the area I am generally heading, so not HDG related for me. If I select a HDG behind be, not a problem, I can see the HDG bug.

Don't get too exited. The picture at the top is very enthusiastic. Theoratically EF is a multi purpose platform.
