Give the bird some time. In the first times it was a shock for me, flying the Cat without MFD’s, without Speed and Altitude in the HUD. But it grows to you. Thats the point i love on the Tomcat: 1. Its has the „Flow“. Changing Tacan, radio and Data-Links with the Jester Menu are an so easy thing to do. Also prepare Ground Weaponry and Navigation. In the F18 (using a oculus rift) i always need to remember on which page is which option, what are Frequencies, Datalink Numbers, Tacans ect. ect. Sometimes it feels more like being an IT-Guy in the office, zooming in on the MFD and click on it. The Cat ist more about flying then programming. 2. Its a blast in VR! In the Hornet i allways need to zoom to the MFDs. In the Tomcat not. Maybe when i slave the TID on my bottom monitor but mostly i just look on the VID and position of the gauges. Also you have Jesters Eagly-Eyes, which compensate your VR-LoWRes Eyes. :D 3. Sitational Awarness. Slaving the TID and tell Jester to put it on Ground-Mode give you a very good view what happens around you and the direction planes are flying. Jesters give calls if he spot planes, give position updates about enemys during a dogfight, calls missiles and evasive maneuvers, when missiles closing in. 4. It flys great. Flying the F18 is a little bit like Ace Combat. Pointing the Indicator to the point where you want to fly and done. Thanks Fly-by-wire. In the Tomcat you fly yourself and you FEEL it. It need some time, but when you first get the perfect trim, it feels great. For me flying is much more fun then in the F18. 5. Phoenix Missiles. Enough Said. Fighting 6 Targets at the same time without an active lock is still fun, even after 100 times.

Hello everybody, On my Map i have a trigger which spawn a flight of Mig29 to fight and an area with ground vehicles. Now i want to use the mission for a permanent server for training so the task must reset themself. I tried to make ground units invulnerable but its not satisfying bombing them without a kill. I made a trigger that respawn the MiG29 but it end up in chaos cause at some point the players goes winchester but there still are ne full armed MiGs which chase down the pilots on there way back. So both ways dont work. Is there a way to reset a triggerzone and units when pilots left the trigger area? On some servers i saw that tasks could be spawn over the F10 communication. How does that work? Greetings Larkis

When you fire the Phoenix in TWS Mode you see a countdown on the TID next to the target, showing when the missile goes active. I dont know about STT but i think it shoukd not break the lock. -

Why is my E-bracket stuck so high up in the HUD?

Try to put the plane-symbol on the +10 degree position and reduce speed unril the Ebracket comes down. When the ebracket is on the Nose symbol you are onspeed. -
Thumbs Up! Thanks Man! Maybe (to go back OT) you can help me a little bit? :helpsmilie: Currently i land with autothrottle and AWL (for a good glideslope in the groove) and come on board safely. Now i start to work doing it myself and currently i am a little bit overwhelmed. Currently my sequence is 1. get pitch on +7-8°. 2. Add/reduce power until im onspeed, 3. trim out, 4 Small corrections with DLC. And here comes my problems: When i see i have corrections which are (in my eyes) to huge for DLC (for example i see that i will crash into the trees 200m before the runway) what is the way to fix that? 1. Hold onspeed and pitch and only work with DLC 2. Pitch up and adjust throttle to stay onspeed (as autothrottle would do) 3. Hold Pitch but give power knowing and go back onspeed after the correction. I currently try to mimic the autothrottle and im so fixed on the e-braket that i forgot to look outside what happend. :joystick: Maybe you could help me here with this. :doh::D

Hmm i think i dont get it right.. 1. I installed the mod as descripte in the entry-post. 2. When i start the Mission i got the message that the mod is activatet. F10 Menu also show everything what should there. 3. I start the F14. i select the Marshal Frequence Manualy and talk to jester to tune the Stennis over the Tac Selection. Doublecheck with F10, that the standard-frequency is the one for LSO. 3. I approach on Angels 20 and 39nm from the boat and make the Straight-In Call. Got an "100 Signal Charlie Straight-In, Check-in Button" (with voice) back. Seems to work. 4. Cause if bad conditions, i make a manual inbound call to the carrier, so he switch the lights on. But i never hear something from the mod again, I fly over the flightdeck, go down to the harlie pattern, fly the Case 1 pattern and land. I get no LSo Calls or anything. Just Silence. Okmycase 1 was FAR from perfect but even then, a little "aboard imbound out of pattern" or something like that should come back in my eyes. But after that i hear nothing.

[Suggestion] Improve SA for Pilots via Jester Menu

Another maybe helpfull thing would be if jester could call interceptions. Yesterday i want to Intercept 2 friendly F18 for formation flying. I got the information where there are via data link. Now the human rio could get the info about heading, altitute (and i think speed) without a radar lock just from the "map" . A humen rio could say "turn heading 350 and altitute 20000, 12nm left" and update this periodly until i have visual. Jester cant to that and i need to buddy spike the plane to get the HUD symbology. It would be cool if the Pilot could select a target and choose intercept silent insteat of lock, and Jester will give calls about heading, altitude, distance and speed of the selectet plane without annoying them with spikes. -
Oh really dont see that. I mostly scroll down to the active topics. Sorry for that. :) And its ok if you think im wrong. Everyone has its own opinion. For me he has nothing from a teacher. I dont attack his knowledge and credibility. But imo he is not able to teach or understand other point of views. Its fulky ok to me that he has his own exoerience after hundrets of hours flying the real thing. But cause its the best for him dont mean its also the best for armchairpilots like us. But when you question that, the answer is similar to "dont be sorry, be good and stop wasting my time you moron". If you like that ok. Everyone has his opinion.

Then mods just could unsticky that threads? Its a waste of space now. Imo im glad he is gone. He was a really mean, narcissistic and disrespectfull person. Everyone has to cheer him that hecwas a real tomcat driver and only his way is the best way. And when you question him or want to discuss stuff like "shutdown hud for landing" he get angry and offensive very fast. Im glad he is gone.

It reminds me about archery. Having a vusor, stabilizers and other supporting items gives you the pressure to hit the center. While shooting with a traditional bow gives more freedom and fun, cause its just your feelings and no science. The planes feel similar. Getting all that sensor information in the F18 HUD gives me the feel that i MUST be good, that my Case1 is perfect and i catch the 3-wire. While flying Tomcat is moar like "yeah, hit the boat, where is the barbershop for my mustache and the volleyballfield? And the old style HUD support that Feeling massivly. :D

maybe its just me... But i land my F14 with Autothrottle and Case1. But after Every landing, Jester just said "2 wire" or "thas a 1 wire" ect. No Jokes, no Snarkiness nothing. Just a bored guy who hate his job but must do it for the paycheck. Whats wrong with me? Is it cause aof the autothrottle? :(

That is something i struggle with the most. From a logical point of view it makes totally sence... But it us ao daaaaam cool to see yourself.

There are a lot custom cockpit which reduce the texture Size. -
