Then there is a way to optimize the model grid to reduce triangles and pixels? Im sorry but that answer is not very satisfying for me. Only the F14 cause that problems to me. When i switch to Huyes or F18 no problem. But switching to F14 gives me a huge performance drop and a longer waiting time until the cockpit is loaded and serious performance drops while flying it near the ground. I needed to reduce textures to low (making Huey unusable cause you cant read anything) just to fly the F14 whly flying F18 make no problems with medium texture settings.

Hey everyone, after flying as Rio for a while i thought about having fun as lso while my pilot try to land. Sandly on the LSO view there os no crosshair or other indicator to give me feedback about the positioning of the landing aircraft. Is there some mod or guidance that help me finding the right glideslope? Esdit: could be trashed, found the https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=211557 mod

As VR you will allwys have a huge disadvantage with TrackIR-Pilots. Not only neckbreacking Movement but also smaller resolutions.

But how should Jester know?

Ha, never had the idea to hold the iff button. Thanks! Will try that next time.

Yep look like hypoxia. Also get into it. Looks like bad look make firing the weapon and starting hypoxia syndroms at the same time. :D

O sorry, talkin pullshit haha. What i mean was that Pulse Search act more like the visual of the radar from the F18. In the F18 you see contact-positions relatet to your own position. So you cann see bearing and range to target on the screen. Pulse Search work the same Way on DDD, while Double Pulse Search show the conlusure range on the DD and range an bearing on the TID. Maybeyou could help me with the IFF? I try the trainin mission but it dont seem to clarify this point. How can i IFF a contect without locking him?

Hi everyone, I currently run into performance troubles when flying as rio, while flying as pilot is fine. After a few trys i get it. The problem is the double Cockpit. On Rio seat you could also see the pilot cockpit. Thare a lot (huge) textures lod into the ram. Textures i mostly dont have a use for. I have my own gauges to check all parameter and i trust my pilot to do his stuff alone. For example: Without Zoom, you cant see anything. But still tht textures are loaded and block the ram for more important things. So i think about make a custom cockpit where Pilot Cockpit Textures are absolutely minized, more colors without any details. But i dont know of that is possible and i sometime i still want to fly as pilot and the cockpit would be nearly unusable. :) So my Request is: Add a very-very low Cockpit texture (maybe just 1k?) and give us an option to load that textures when on Rio Seat. Happy flying :pilotfly:

Thanks for the answer QuiGon! So single Pulse Radar work only on the DDD and visual is more like the Radar for for example the F18. I see dots depending of direction and distance? Thats all very helpfull. Thank you very much!

Hi everyone, i currently work into the RIO Seat and try to work with the Radar but run into some points i dont fully understand. Sadly i wasnt able to see the full 2.5h Rio School. If my questions are answered in the video just tell me. :) 1. Situation: Im in TWS Auto and got a track of 4 Bears and could fire the phoenix. Is there a reason to change to TWS Man and reduce Scan-Width and Bars? I know i got a better Track cause i got more reflections in the same time. But is that something that improve Phoenix-Performance? Or is there an other reason i should prefer a bether tracking over situational awarness? 2. Situation: I got 2 Contacts on the radar and want to check iff. I lock the first contact, press iff -> friendly. i set the Track on friendly. Now i lock the second one and do the same. But while i do this i loose the track from the first one and when the radar catch it again its labeld as unknown contact. How can i save the marked tracks while i lock the next one? 3. How should read the single pulse radar on the DDD? I know on double Pulse radar variant i see the conclusion rate on the DDD. But without the double pulse i dont get that information. How can i read the DDD with that radar variant? 4. Situation: Our Awacs was shot down by enemy forces. When my plane enter the combat area i know there are enemys, i know the direction cause of RWR feedback but i dont know height or range. What the best way (or radar mode) to find them? or other example, my F14 ist on 15000ft and i got a contact message on 6000ft. Is there a way to find that contact more easily then moving the plane to 6000ft too? I know i can change the vertical angle in TWS Man. But how can i determ the right vertical position to get the target? 5. Similar question. I have a contact lock and both plares are on 6000ft. Now the target start to climb or to fall. Is there some sort of indicator to see that and readjust the vertical angle of the radar? Greetings Larkis

Which language do you have? Maybe german? Sprichst du Deutsch? Maybe i can tell you in your native language. Ich könnte es dir dann auf Deutsch sagen.

Hi IronMike, i had similar issues. I have a Geforxe 970 GTX, 16GB Ram und used a oculus Rift CV1 (now i use a Oculus Quest with Link). I also run into oerfirmance trouble when restarting the plane. For a few weeks we made 1vs1 duels over caucasus. With respawns after every round. I noticed that the performance got more worse when leaving the plan and spawn a new one. Like i loose performance (maybe Ram?) every time i respawn. I dont have that issues with the F18. And i dont think we need a complete new variant. But maybe official cockpit textures which are more simplified and with higher readability? I tried to reduce resolution of Brickdusts Textures to 2k but mostl the text was not readable anymore. :( Bit i also agree, the cockpit of the F14 need mich more ressources then of the F18.

https://www.oculus.com/blog/thumbs-up-hand-tracking-now-available-on-oculus-quest/ Do you think ED will try to implement that? Using every switch just with the Hands could be awesome. :D

Virtual Desktop means he has just a 2D Picture of the Game and no Headtracking. I dont know if this is a way to go in VR. :D

Hi, i run aCV1 for years and today first time i switch to oculus link. First, i dont notice the smaller FOV. Insteat the Headset feels bigger (i use glasses, mostly it was a problem with the CV1 to get the glasses inside the Rift. Also the glasses mostly start to mist. I dont have that problems with the Quest) I use the Anker 0.9m cable together with that 5m repeater: https://de.myworld.com/de-de/dp/roline-roline-usb-30-aktives-repeater-kabel-5m-dpJ83S4SKTMS5/?utm_source=shopping24&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pcs&s24clid=91136af4-a4e4-46eb-9d40-2c76959e10c9 .And i run on a Geforce 970GTX Works perfectly. I fly 2 hours and dont have tracking problems, artefacting or something else. The veiw seems a little bit blurry on range. its a little bit harder to see a runway on caucasus in 20nm+ range or see the position of the ball (or the cables) when going from groove to final. But both could be resolved with the standard zoom. Except for that the whole view seems to be improved to me. On my squadron the F18 fly A-G attacks while the tomcats secure the air. Seeing ground targets should not be that issue with the full-zoom or the tgp. Searching for air targets with the eyeball MK1 maybe would be much harder with the Quest. So if you mainly want to do PVE and go against ground targets, the change from CV1 to the Quest could be a good idea. if you want to go A-A maybe the sharpness of the rift will work bether for you. I personally dont regret changing the CV1 to the Oculus Quest. The User Experience is so much bether in my eyes, that i never will go back. :smilewink:

Had someone the ability to testvit woth a Geforce 970GTX?
-
Worst then CV1? Is that possible?
-
I wonder how long the battery will do that. I read normaly the quest has power for 2-3hours. But the Quest will mostly do nothing except tracking. Maybe 3-4 hours?
-
Great cant wait. My quest will arrive in 2 days and currently i only have a 3m usb3 wire + an usb-3 to usb-c from my handy loader. I think that will not be a comparable experience.
-
I also hope some comparings to the good old rift 1. :)
-
Think about people who dont have the money to buy several VR headsets and maybe you get a clue why people are hyped ablut a 2-in-1 solution. :)
-
Hope we got infos about oculus link soon.

The small continuous lines are contacts from the rwr. The karge dodded line is a normal lock. A large continous line us a lock with an active weapon. For example a sam: Small continuous line: the sam could see you on the radar. Large dodded line: the sam locked you. Large continuous line: the sam fired the missile and keep look to guide it.

On case 1 its helpfull so you could see the velocity vector when you do the brake. Thats all.
