Oh my bad. It would be Eagle Dynamics’ map since Dynamics is plural. Corrected to Wag’s map.
-
Actually the title: “There are no "E"'s in Caucasus“ would correctly be written without the apostrophe before the s ‘s is possessive as in “Wag’s map”. The meaning there is plural as in “DCS maps”

Don’t even try to correct spelling or grammar around here English is a lovely language

Yeah that’s why I got the CH to hold me over till then. Right, that's a nice little add. What kept me with the CH stuff for so long is too many of the higher quality devices are like “home cockpit” style and not “desktop” meaning if you want to use your PC for anything else, moving them around is just more difficult. Like the Warthog throttle is 14 lbs and these throttles have big bases and too many switches for my needs. CH did fit the bill for being desktop form factor but lots of buttons.
-
Yeah the action on the throttle is a bit stickier than my last one. Time to look at something more current. The Virpil CDT line has the best form factor and value for me I think.

Could that mini stick be used for the mouse control in the cockpit? Seems like that might be awkward or a conflict. Can’t figure a use for a second analog stick. Good that it can be reassigned then.

Good to know, thanks!

Please Address Game Bloat from CoreMods & Excessive Liveries
SharpeXB replied to celestHawk's topic in DCS Core Wish List
That speed is just inadequate for this or nearly anything else today. I had to look up what that is… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SORM Don’t know what to tell you. Move. Find a different hobby The game can’t be designed around such an inadequate connection. Forget liveries, what about everything else?- 69 replies

You can’t expect devs to tailor a game to such inadequate specs. It’s up to you to get better service.- 69 replies

Can the mini joystick on these flight sticks be assigned to buttons via the software? Like what could be done with JoyToKey? A mini stick on these isn’t as useful as another hat.

TrackIR View Snaps to Wrong Position After Pause
SharpeXB replied to Liam Wonka's topic in Chit-Chat
Welcome to DCS Yes that’s what recenter does with TrackIR, very handy. The only improvement suggestion I could make would be to remap that to an easier to find key or stick button than F12. But if that works for you don’t fix what ain’t broke -
Aha! No I didn’t realize that. Thanks

You know when I say “still the best?” it’s somewhat in humor. It’s a device from the 90s. But it serves the purpose. And there wasn’t a 12 week back order. One day I’ll get up the motivation to replace these but I’m not in the mood for mass button mapping right now. Fun discovery, when you get another of the same device the ID# stays the same. Plug in and game on.

The CM3 or that CDT is on my list. But hey the plastic toy lasted 15 years and succumbed to a dachshund puppy
-
I see the preview versions have loose buttons let’s see how they turn out. Those dials look like they might have too much range for a zoom slider though. It was $172 I consider it a band aid until something convinces me to remap everything I have 15 years of button memory there…

AFAIK those are all GPU related settings.
-
I would think MSAA, DLSS and resolution settings are GPU related and have less to do with whatever CPU you are using.

Very cool. But how many players have a setup like that which would make such a game feature worthwhile? Even triple screen setups are so rare it seems ED doesn’t feel like supporting that is worthwhile. And the A-10 does have blister canopy with an all-around view. The ability to see your 6:00 must have been considered worthwhile.
-
That makes sense for something like an airliner but in a combat sim you need to be able to look all the way to your 6:00 Your entire view needs to move in a sim like this. In this case the HMD being locked to the center of your screen is replicating how it would work IRL. A fighter plane simpit with a fixed screen like that would need to have a dome projector. I suspect those aren’t too common outside of pro simulators.
-
That was on my runner up list too. It seems very good. I’m still considering Virpil for everything. They have a 12 week wait for stuff though If I move to another vendor, for me it’s like an all-in proposition. I think Moza’s FFB line also looks appealing. That’s what I’m keeping a lookout for. In the meantime I don’t have to bother remapping everything CH still wins the $/button contest
-
My puppy ate my 15 year old Pro Throttle’s USB cable . Of course I contemplate getting something more boutique but after evaluating all of them just got another CH. Bottom line is it just has more buttons. And the expensive throttles all try to replicate specific aircraft and include lots of switches particular to just an A-10 or F-18 that are mostly just used to start the plane Few of them have the one feature I’d pay for which is a slider for the zoom view since real aircraft don’t have these Runners up for me are Virpil CDT-VMAX and maybe Moza if their future lineup includes a generic style and not the F-18 replica. CH still has the best price and quality IMO
-
Yeah I realize that. Honestly it seems just frustrating to me and not worthwhile. A basic joystick is quite inexpensive. The essential problem is that flying has an inverted Y-axis vs pointing with the mouse like you do in the clickable cockpit or for aiming.
