I definitely see a performance improvement in 2.5.6. With my modest system, I'm pretty much stuck around 30 FPS. But I see less stutter when taxiing around air bases even with mirrors on. And at higher altitudes, I can get 60 FPS (something I don't get in the release branch).

Hi, guys. Just reporting a few lighting bugs in open beta 2.5.6. 1. When starting cold and dark, all the external lights are on. 2. The cockpit flood and storm lights illuminate the tarmac / runway below the cockpit. 3. The rear cockpit's storm light seems to partly illuminate the front cockpit. And, not sure if this is a bug but when you turn on instrument lighting, some of the instruments like the airspeed indicator have bluish-white light reflections on them. I've been trying to figure out what the light source would be.

I think because in DCS, building lights aren't really light sources. They're really just textures.

Were there changes to the FM? Anyways, thanks to AvioDev for continuing to work on my goto module.:)

Do the fire bombs have a fire effect?

The power supply issue appears to be happening in the F-14 as well.

If you start rolling with it attached, it will eventually disappear. Just a little annoying but not game breaking.

Yes, it is there. When you tell the ground crew to disconnect power supply, you get a message saying that can't while you are idling.

Height of the pylon in the ED pic seems much higher than in that archive pic. Maybe it's just the perspective.

Maybe. Fins look a little odd to me for an AIM-7. Really thick at the base and there seems to be some protuberances on the tips. Anyway, just my uninformed opinion.:P

Ya, I was thinking that too. And the missile doesn't quite look like an AIM-7. Hard to tell from that angle.

I've been practicing with the F-15C and the KC-135 lately. I don't know if it's just me but I find the position lights on the tanker quite difficult to see. The up/down light isn't so bad but the forward/back light is near impossible to see. I wonder if the general DCS world lighting improvements will help.

Possibly brain melting?:)
