I think I’ll answer in the other thread

It’s there to warn you that the your barometric altitude is IIRC 10% different to your radar altitude.
-
Destination indicator shows no waypoints I would guess file corruption or hardware issue. Try doing a repair of DCS. What are your computer specs?
-
I’m not sure I did anything but you’re welcome anyway [emoji23]

I tried your mission izzydizzy and flew it from start to finish (took out three brdms). I wasn't able to replicate a crash unfortunately. Do you always experience a crash in this mission or was it just one time? Does it happen also after todays update? You might try my track-file and see if it crashes for you (don't worry that the replay deviates). Also, if it always crashes, try to clear the %SAVEDGAMES%/DCS_AJS37 folder and see if that helps. izzydizzysmission.trk

Thanks for the logs guys! Our internal tester JediTeo also reported what sounds like same issue, a lock-up when exiting the mission? Unfortunately it doesnt say exactly what happened in the logs so I will try to replicate while running the debugger but I needed some help with that so stay tuned.

That’s not good. Can you upload the dcs.log file?

Can’t find the original thread about this so I write here. I’ve corrected this now but unlikely it will be in the upcoming update but instead in the one after that.

For RagnarDa, PLAN sight behavior I think you are right. The original documentation is extremely vague on how this mode works. I think it would be ideal if the sight didn’t jump after trigger unsafe but instead started moving downwards to match your closing to the target, and as you said if pointed at target you will overfly the target at the safety height instead of right now. I’d have to think about how to solve this mathematically. Edit: one thing I realize after thinking about it for 5 mins is that it really can’t work like you describe in phase 1, since that sight is fixed in relation to the airplanes waterline IIRC. If so that also needs to be changed so that it is fixed relative to the airplanes alpha. Edit 2: Another thing, if the sight should not jump while using radar ranging I'd have to implement some type of transitioning because the sights position would have to be updated when marking the target if using radar ranging.

Are you selecting the recon target after you made a fix? The M-recon target is not automatically selected after you make a fix, you'll have to manually select it (AKTPOS, MAL, numpad 1). I am unable to replicate any of the issues in that post.

[UNREPLICATED] CTD in multiplayer upon pressing fly button
RagnarDa replied to Aries144's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey another thing to try first: go into saved games folder (type %SAVEDGAMES% into explorer url) and delete the DCS_AJS37 folder and try if it helps. -
Good to hear! I’ve have hardly hit anything with it.. :D

[UNREPLICATED] CTD in multiplayer upon pressing fly button
RagnarDa replied to Aries144's topic in Bugs and Problems
So if it's unrelated to the mission and still crash as soon as you press fly I think it has to be something wrong on your system. The only things I can think of is file corruption or memory corruption or some broken mod installed in your DCS. 1. Remove any mods if you haven't already. Possibly other software that might interfere. 2. Update any drivers you can. Windows, graphics drivers etc. 3. Try uninstall DCS completely and re install it (I know it's a lot of time unfortunately). 4. Check that your RAM is OK, maybe like this: https://www.howtogeek.com/260813/how-to-test-your-computers-ram-for-problems/ 5. Rule out any hardware problems like overheating CPU or something. Edit: Did you try the other aircrafts, like Su-25T or P-51 and did they work? Btw, I am sorry you are having this problem. -
I don’t think it was in the update but hopefully/maybe we’ll see it tomorrow.

[UNREPLICATED] CTD in multiplayer upon pressing fly button
RagnarDa replied to Aries144's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's a warning that a reference point or the player is way out of the map area (or there is a memory corruption). Reference points can be placed in the mission editor, I don't remember what they are called there but they usually have names like Adder and so on. What mission are you trying to fly? Try another one, like the included quick start missions. Or try make a new mission in the mission editor and just add one viggen in the middle of the map, like over Batumi and nothing else. EDIT: Sorry, I guess it's not your mission? If you have to join this server, see if there is any other viggen slots you can try that are on some other place on the map. Or try another server. This is really strange. Is it this mission: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3246863/ ??? -
I am not exactly sure I follow but I think I should say this: If you are asking about the that when you havent previously (manually by inputting coordinates or by setting it in mission editor) a BX-point and then select it and and set T1 it would appear in front of the aircraft, then I think I should mention we are not sure (or rather sure) it doesnt work this way. Thing is the documentation doesnt mention what happens when you try to select an empty BX-point but it does mention that selecting an empty B1-B9 will make you select the next one or the previous one (don't remember which). So we added the feature in DCS to have it put the cross in front of the plane for ease of use (remember IRL the Rb15 and Bk90 was kind of an after-thought). Guess in DCS it's a bit inconsistent depending on how you've loaded your cartridge I guess? Is this what you mean?

Terrnav in DCS has an accuracy of a little over 100 meters so fixes would still help. The generated missions tries to find points with highest density of enemy units. Worst (imaginary) case the units are placed in a circle and the target point would be in the middle of the circle.
-
To get more precise INS I would do one or two fixes enroute to target and also be extra careful when lining up on the runway and taking off as straight on the runway as possible. The manually inputted coordinates in Viggen doesnt support more precise coordinates than seconds and in DCS:Viggen these are assumed to be upper left corner (ie 0) becuase I havent seen any info about and this is just an assumption on my part. The data cartridges in DCS:Viggen supports higher precision though, but this is also an assumption on my part. So if you are making a fix on a manually entered coordinate you should try to make it in the corner for best accuracy.

I flew 4 sorties in GAW last night and took out 6 ground targets and 4 aircrafts (parked). I flew into the ground twice because I was distracted :). I wouldn’t say it’s useless at all on GAW

Hi! Can you please post the whole log?

I find high-drag bombs easiest and most effective to use, preferably in PLAN-mode or alternatively CCIP-mode. The way they work in DCS makes them more lethal than BK90 and if you keep your speed and have low ingress you wont be fired upon. Also, VR-zoom helps a lot.
-
I just tried it and the auto-generated cartridges is enabled on GAW. The targets is visible on the map on the webpage too. You get QFE-info in the kneeboard. You can select them in the kneeboard “menu”, I think it’s number 7-12. Another more risky tactic is this
