You will not be disappointed.

Jumping into this party late but just another +1 from me. I flew fine with the x52 (not pro) and Saitek's standard pedals for about a year of having DCS: A-10C. I recently upgraded to the TM Warthog and I don't regret it, but I had my x52 for 7 years (4 years of use) and it was time for a replacement. If you get the TM Warthog you still have to find a rudder solution; your choices are either keyboard, the throttle slider, or more money for a set of pedals. My recommendation is the Saitek set for your first combination unless you have money to spare.

My previous issues with connecting were the port forwarding. If it is all set up as above, then all I have to go back on are the obvious password setting and Right: LAN (previously wrong: internet as Falcon pointed out above. The IP address you see as the host will be a 196.168.0.xxx and that's okay. The xxx matches the static IP you set in the port forwarding procedure. Sorry I have no other insight to offer. :(

Make sure your router is set up to forward the port. The router won't let just anyone connect to your computer, so most ports are shut off. This is probably your issue. Only the host needs to do this. Go to this site and it will walk you through it all, step by step: http://portforward.com/ This is your start point: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm Oh! and make sure you get your correct IP... anything that goes 196.168.0.xxx is within your house. You need to get the IP address to your router. RIGHT: Go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and get your IP address. (previously WRONG:I'm not sure if the guide above shows you this but you can get it by going to the Start Menu>Search "CMD" then type "ipconfig" (without quotes on both) into the black box and look at the IPv4 address.) Give that address to your friends to connect to you.

I learned a lot from YouTube tutorials. Gerry Abbott's were especially helpful: http://www.youtube.com/user/gerryabbott

This might be a better location, though the profile seems specific to the A-10C so I don't have any heartburn that it's here. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=189 I just got a TM Warthog yesterday and I think I may look into your profile, for certain. I especially like the original use of the throttle pinkie switch and your LED assignments. Thank you for sharing it!:joystick:

I think I equipped it one day and had good success; I do like your suggestion so I believe I'll change my loadout. Perhaps I'll use RagnarDa's suggestion with the smoke marker pod on one wing: @Dr_Arrow: I understand my loadouts of 103% max ramp weight are unrealistic. You should see what I load the A-10C down with. When I fly the sim offline in a single mission (the majority of my flights), I see it more like a rifle range where I am maximizing my number of shots in different environments versus a realistic approach at a mission. When I fly in a campaign or Co-Op/Online, I carry whatever is necessary for mission accomplishment with a higher regard for survival.

I too have fallen in love with the T-Toad after initially learning the A-10C. My favorite loadout (from memory) is: 2x ECM pods on the wings to increase the survivability. Only activate when painted, though. 2x R73s 2x S25L (I believe, it's the one that leaves behind the cylinder when you fire it) 16x 9A4172 Vikhrs 2x Kh-29T for fire and forget targets at maximum range 1x Mercury pod -Good for all weather. I generally leave the Mercury pod at home during daytime flights. I stand off behind friendly lines and use the Shkval to locate targets to the best of my ability. When I locate a few I'll make a pass with a Kh-29T following with a S25L or two Vikhrs as I get closer then break off and reset to repeat. I try to use the S25Ls early in order to jettison the canisters and reduce their drag. After that then the Vikhrs should be the only A2G ordnance on my aircraft. If I find myself in a dogfight then I can jettison those if I deem necessary. The Su-25T drops the A2G pylons first from outside-in, then the A2A. For SEAD I replace the Murcury pod with the Phantasmigoria (sp) pod as well as the 2x Kh-25MPU and 2x Kh-58U. This leaves me with the Vikhrs to clean up some of the armor. It's hard for me to turn down the 16 missiles instead of 2. If i'm going up for nothing but SEAD then I would leave the bulky pods but normally I'm flying offline missions and maximize my "fun."

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck

This is the Linda Blair effect from the A-10C. It can be fixed using the corresponding entry for the Su-25T as listed below. Found in the View.lua file. Should be an entry like the following: Line ??? CameraAngleRestriction [su-25T] = {1,120,0.5} (Derived from this thread which I used to fix the A-10C's exact same problem: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72409&highlight=linda+blair ) -
I would jump on any Su-25 variant in DCS quality. TM (Su-39) for sure, SM or KM would be just as fun and modern.

When Il-2 implemented this it was a huge change, this is one that I'll definitely be installing. Thanks PeterP! -
Haha! Fair enough

An S-5KO would be more appropriate for the time, I believe.
-
Ahh the elusive DShK! A unit I was in had nearly all training scenarios keyed in on observing for the DShK ("dishkah" as we called it). I would also be happy to have it in the game as I could finally find it after 15 years ;)

I isolated zzzSpace's mod and still had the crash in Long Day. I'm going to give up on that mission for now.
-
I flew Long Day again and came up with the crash while flying it and then earlier when watching the track. I believe it's the sound mod because all the me.logs point to sound errors. I'm repairing it now and I'll have a look-see with the other mods installed.
-
I flew the other single mission, Command Post, with no issues. Not sure if that helps.
-
Note: With some other testing I'm chalking this up to a bad mission. - I just finished a run in on targets with two Vikhrs shot at two different targets. - Single mission, "Long Day." - Crashed to the debrief screen - Single Player. Mods: Su-25T 6DoF, Ricardo's HD pit in Cyrillic, zzzSpace's sound mod v1.0 & 1.2. DXDiag attached. Windows Error Info DxDiag.txt

Those look very interesting, I'll be loading these for the days I just feel like zooming around, I'll be sure to have some external tanks loaded.
-
Is there a way to change the pointing location? I belive I have my DCS install at C:/Users/Me/DCS World... If I just add /Eagle Dynamics in the middle I don't know what else will be affected, auto updater, etc.

Firing missiles in free DCS World SU-25T
Britchot replied to lumpypilot's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The aircraft in FC3 will be simple in the way that the Su-25T has been. I don't think the aircraft is entirely simple, since I've had quite a bit of fun flying it, and I own DCS: A-10C. I would put the A-10C on par with a simulator that you can enjoy the finer workings of avionics, targeting, navigation, and weapon systems; a study sim as others have put it. For the Su-25T and the upcoming FC3, it's more like a simulator that doesn't get into the nitty gritty of how the system works but allows you the realism of employing several different types of aircraft. Basically, if you want one in-depth airframe then get DCS: A-10C. If you want several, very capable fighters/attackers that will take you less time to get "into the fight" then pick up FC3. Of course, you can always get both and enjoy the best of both worlds :smartass: -
I would go nuts over a DCS: Jaguar. That bird is one of my childhood favorites.

I'm pretty sure this is the issue I've seen, that makes sense. I'll look for that countdown timer, I'm sure I've been target fixated and have missed it. -
Thank you Mustang.
