  1. This is true, it is why he is an "ED Partner." He is behind the beautiful remakes of the Su-27, 33, 29S, 29A and 25T. I think Joey was asking why ED hasn't bought this one, too ;)
  2. I just don't know what to believe any more :(
  3. I increased my success with iron bombs by following the wind correction thread posted a while back. I haven't tried since 1.2.3 came out but I was successful from 10-12K feet a large percentage of the time, using Mk82 slicks. I used CCRP and level release, though. Give it a try: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66422
  4. No worries. The hardpoint indicator was there in 1.2.2.
  5. I fired up on the ramp and I can confirm that I do not have the hardpoints on the bottom of my HUD, either. I believe it's a bug. I was able to change my target box size, check your control settings. I think there is only supposed to be 2, though I could be wrong. I do not believe there is a 1x setting, only 8x & 23x. Though I don't have any indication of the magnification, either. From the Su-25T Flight Manual, "To aid in target identification, the TV camera field of view (FOV) can be magnified to 23x (0.73х0.97 degrees) or an intermediate value of 8x."
  6. I have a set of the Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals and I'm quite happy with them. I would definitely look for pedals that you can program a key to the toe brakes, DCS: A-10C doesn't need them but several others (to include the Su-25T in DCS: World) can use them.
  7. Well, guess then it's working quite well  Thank you for offering your time and not pounding on my question for being silly.
  8. I was running Dragon's Training mission as a multiplayer on my own computer and had an issue when the JTAC went Spot On. I was looking at the target area and called for the JTAC to sparkle. However, the TGP video froze at the moment I selected LSS (OSB6?). The overlay on the TGP looked correct, it had the dot circling and it said searching. However, I never contacted the spot and the video remained frozen until I deselected the LSS function. Anyone else see this behavior? Is there something I'm missing through procedure? If no one else has seen this, I'll attempt to reproduce it and post a track. If it's known, I won't bother.
  9. Quickest way I could recommend to you is to use the range ring on the TAD to estimate how far out from your aircraft 8 miles would be in the 4 o'clock direction. You can cursor over and mark a target on the TAD and then search from there. I've had moderate success using this method. Forcing the wingman to use bulls-eye? I'm not aware of any setting to do this.
  10. Thank you for all the work. I'll be installing this as soon as I get the chance to get back and update to 1.2.3!
  11. I still use some of the airfield databases on this app and I certainly appreciate the effort that went into creating it. If it is no longer updated due to developer unavailability (believe me, I understand), would it be possible to remove the sticky designation of this thread in order to limit new users that could become frustrated with the outdated nature of this app?
  12. I'd love to see a DCS version of this!
  13. I had the opportunity to attend an airshow at Davis-Monthan AFB in AZ where they had an instructor pilot sitting in an A-10C cockpit answering any questions. I took my daughters up to the cockpit because they were just interested in looking at things but I was the one with a specific agenda. I was amazed at how close his knees were to the control panel, it reminded me of the Henschel Hs-129 from WWII. I've ridden in the passenger seat of a car with my knees at the panel and it made me uncomfortable, much less to fly a plane that way.
  14. Nope, Lockheed Martin has been digitizing the A-10 into the C version since '97. http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/products/a10.html
  15. Nice find, I have a "." in my name as well. I'll be following this thread with interest.
  16. I'll jump in on the "watching with interest" crew. I didn't realize that the medium textures affected the MFCDs.
  17. 1. Unplug your old stick and throttle and start up A-10 and look at the controls to make sure it's gone. exit the game. 2. Plug in the TM Warthog set (it takes 2x USB ports, FYI). Start up DCS A-10 and look at the controls. All the controls will be set. I changed the "silence gear alarm button" to "gear up/down/ so I didn't have to go to the keyboard and one other control I'll discuss later. 3. There is a slider to the right of the throttle that is for "tension" but it's not the mechanical tension, it's a programmable axis (the real tension is at the top of the plate). I use that for my zoom ;) 4. Yup, "over the hump," just like the real thing. 5. Sorry, I came from an X-52 set.
  18. There was a thread with a similar request and I think it's a good idea but not it's own sim. I think a UAS interface in Combined Arms would be appropriate. Basically, you'd be an armed AFAC. The interface is pretty much like Rico mentions, a HUD with a forward looking camera, a moving map display, and a payload video like the TGP in the A-10C. The thrill would be a lot similar to playing JTAC in CA with 2-6 bomb drops or missile shots, to each their own.
  19. We used to jump on the LRSD insertions but I would fly the Blackhawk and my friend would crew my gun via LAN. It greatly appealed to us because he was a former door gunner on Blackhawks and we were both operators in a LRS Detatchment at the time. We also did the pilot/gunner and left/right seat in both the AH-64 and OH-58D. Those were fun times back in '97
  20. I used Dragon's Training flights (search the missions forum) to practice AAR. Once I got decent at hooking up I would mix in some attack runs. I would check in with a JTAC, drop a bomb, go refuel 1,000lbs and go back to the JTAC and repeat. It's helped break up the monotony a bit as well as help work on my link-ups with the tankers.
  21. I had an X52 and found it easier to take someone else's profile and tweak it to my preferences, so you may want to get in there and make it to how you want to fly. I sat next to my friend who had a TM Warthog and went through the actual HOTAS assignments and did my best to mirror these on the X52. Like I said, make it to your needs if you can.
  22. I've noticed mine not there, also. I thought I was just rusty and remembering wrong. This occurred while hosting Operation Bactria with one other pilot flying as well as hosting Dragon's JTAC training mission flying alone but set as a multi-player. Both instances were from ramp starts.
  23. Here's a snapshot of my settings when I host. The interface IP is the IPv4 that your router will forward that port ( 10308 ) to, not what your friends connect with. Use the link in the previous reply to get your IP address. It's LAN, like Trev said, I was wrong there, too. Again, I'm sorry.
  24. I'm so sorry! IPv4 is WRONG! Go here and that's the address you need. http://whatismyipaddress.com/ That's what I get for trying to do it from memory. I'm sorry.
  25. Trev, can you screenshot your connection page for when you connect to me? Change the IP, though :music_whistling:
