  1. No one mentioned flap extension speed. Perhaps #1 is the max speed for landing flap deployment and #2 is for combat flaps without the risk of damage. The landing flap sounds reasonable but I'm skeptical of the combat flap theory. If I have a chance to test it out later, I will.
  2. The fixed wing aircraft trim differently than the helos. What it sounds like is you're trimming how I do on the UH-1H. Aaron886 hit the nail on the head, without the control pressure, it's somewhat difficult to estimate. I'm just going to post to emphasize to use small increments until you get the desired attitude. This goes for yaw and roll as well. 1. Push forward on the stick to keep the aircraft level. 2. Trim nose down 1-3 "clicks" 3. Release the stick to neutral and evaluate the aircraft's attitude. 4. Repeat 1-3 as necessary. This goes the same for the A-10C, which you have to trim every time you release a bomb!
  3. Here's a great tutorial on the from Fish. I couldn't get my head wrapped around the lights until I watched him break it down. Here is the Dragon's training pack that I use. I edited the missions to add a pair of Su-25s in the weapons training but that's all. I also have A-10C, UH-1H, and Ka-50 (honestly haven't even sat in the cockpit yet), so it's my little playground.
  4. As far as tutorials, I watched all the ones from DCS on Youtube. That allowed me to rewind it if I needed. After that, I just set up one of Dragon's training packs and work my way into engagements little by little. Though most of my time in this sim is spent in 2-4 pilot co-ops or training flights, so I'm not going into many large scale engagements.
  5. The Su-25T is the SEAD package. The Su-25 does not have the ability to carry the necessary avionics. So the enemy air defenses should be taken care of in much of the same way as the A-10 scenario. I like to fly the Su-25 low and fast, which is good if I have an idea of the engagement zone. If it's all a mystery, I'll go in at the edge of the FLOT and try to spot movement and make attacks at as great of a distance as I can.
  6. I finally got around to installing it and checking my stand alone Su-25 module, it works perfectly. However, I do not have the A-10A module. Thank you very much for updating so quickly!
  7. Half complained before, now the other half has a valid argument. I'm just glad I can drop my "Russian Speech Mod" from my JSGME.
  8. That's unfortunate. I really enjoyed this utility, I believe I'll wait for the update in order to update DCS:W
  9. Unfortunately it's not modeled on my HOTAS
  10. I also think Falcon was being sincere. We tend to label what we do in the simulator to what the role is in the real world without all the real world interaction. Flying ground attack sorties with friendly troops somewhere on the map feels like CAS but, as pointed out, it's outside the definition of CAS. I normally play with 1-3 others on one of our boxes and we run different roles. We tend to work in pairs of Su-25s or A-10Cs (comparatively cheating, really) with one spotting and the other one engaging like Enigma mentioned previously. We also run Combined Arms with a JTAC spotting targets with smoke for the Su-25s or all the bells and whistles with the A-10C, both of which is more CAS as defined.
  11. Here is a slightly different version of the song for those that didn't look at Michael's channel linked above. I've had him subscribed since DCS:W released the Su-25T. I am also in love with the Su-25 even though I am quite proficient (and a lot more effective) with the A-10C. It's the closest thing to an A-4 that I can get. Thanks for the link, Falcon, I will peruse your collection for certain!
  12. I'm stoked for a 3D cockpit and 6DoF in the T-Frog. I fell in love with the Su-25A when I picked up the module the other day and now I hear the SEAD capable Toad will have a similar seat, wow. Thanks ED!
  13. I'm bringing up this archaic thread since the new Su-25A module came out and it has filled a void in my Grach heart. Does anyone have the article originally linked here? I'm getting dead ends and my google-fu is failing me. Thanks in advance!:pilotfly:
  14. The release of the Su-25A module has reignited my passion for the Grach. It's an amazing aircraft to fly and the 6DoF cockpit is definitely awesome. It's the next best thing to my dream sim, the A-4 Skyhawk.
  15. Oops, re-read your question. You're having a problem with single player logbook entries?
  16. I can not wait to try out your version, Milli. A little more pronounced is exactly what I desired when I tried the original mod.
  17. A late-war HF would be a decent adversary to the Fw-190D-9, I would imagine.
  18. I had this happen to me when I did a quick run to the tanker for the sole purpose of practicing AAR on Dragon's JTAC Day Training. I thought it was because I had too much fuel at the time, since I just took off. Either I did have too much fuel and this could be your case as well or I had a similarly inexplicable error.
  19. I've had the honor to ride in the back of an Mi-8 back in '95, I would absolutely enjoy this simulator!
  20. The images were pulled from FAS.org and the basic response was gleaned from what I know of Hellfire missile profiles. The response is validated within that page as well.
  21. Lock on Before Launch (LOBL) and Lock on After Launch (LOAL) just mean when the seeker head locates the LASER energy, either prior to leaving the rail or as it approaches the terminal phase of flight. What you're talking about is High/Direct/Low trajectories for the missile, which is an additional variable for the missile. Forgive the fact that these are alpha model profiles, the concept is the same.
  22. Unfortunately, it is not a fuel probe, either. The two different wind vanes attached to the end of the probe are to measure different angles of attack that the aircraft encounters during flight. There is normally some sort of temperature gauge embedded as well as other measurement devices. It's out in front of the aircraft so it is not spoiled by the airflow of the fuselage. This sort of measurement tool is attached to various types of aircraft during tests so the "10-pound brains" can crunch numbers later.
  23. :megalol: Only because I <3 you!
  24. I know the original question has been answered but just to clarify, Predators don't have that sort of radar.
