I wasn't planning on spending more to get an i7, it's not really worth it according to most.

So I've been considering if it's worth upgrading my workhorse 2500K, running at 4.4 GHz, either with an i5 4690K or the newer 6600K. The thing is, according to benchmarks for games it hardly seems worth the money. See for example the comments in So, my question: does DCS, being CPU-intensive, give further reason to upgrade? Or can I expect the same small benefits as generic gaming benchmarks show? Has anyone actually upgraded from a 2500k to a newer i5? Thanks!

Just a little protip for when you need to make sure you have a consistent mouse: You should always set the Windows sensitivity to the 6th setting, since then it doesn't scale the input at all. You should then be able to reach a sensitivity you like via your mouse drivers (setting the DPI) and program options. On higher settings than 6, windows moves the mouse more than one pixel for every count it receives from the mouse, meaning that there might even be certain pixles the pointer can't land on. Obviously this isn't that important in DCS, but if you need precision for something else it's worth keeping in mind.

I've never seen knots used as a measure of distance. In either case, I don't think anyone would advise it.

Yeah, I can confirm that there was no rapid beeping to indicate radar lock in that track. The MWS worked and the aircraft started deploying chaff, but no lock was indicated before that. Pretty serious bug.

Yep, editing is great but having been made 2009 isn't enough of an excuse for using that music. :D

It looks just as though the heat source was between the pilot and the HUD, and not in front. Obviously wrong. Happens to every aircraft I've tried. My heat blur setting is on HIGH.
