  1. The gear doors closed and everything. The plane kept taxiing floating in the air so it was only visually, the collision model or however that works stayed down.
  2. Nope, he's confused. ONCE AND FOR ALL: Flat shadows are easier to render than "non-flat" (i.e. dynamic) shadows. Flat terrain shadows = off is more computationally expensive. Regarding what looks best, you have to do your own testing.
  3. Yeah, maybe he's testing high over the desert or something. Anyway, in case anyone important is reading: I think letting the player vehicle always cast dynamical shadows would be a computationally cheap way of increasing immersion a lot.
  4. That's what that post says, yes.
  5. I think you should find that shadows = ultra, flat terrain = off is worse for performance.
  6. As far as I can see, they don't. Feel free to test it yourself.
  7. What's wrong with your faaaaace.
  8. Literally none? I fly the L-39 without gunsight lots, never had that issue.
  9. To add to what's been said, it's not "random" at all. At times during the cold war, Sweden's airforce was the fourth most powerful in the world, and Sweden's been designing world-class aircraft since the 40's. Just because you don't know that much about something (which is fine!), doesn't make it "random".
  10. Yeah thanks, toggling mirrors on and off from the back seat switches between this placeholder texture, and the blank silver "mirrors off" texture. Should still be fixed though!
  11. As you can see, there's a blue placeholder texture. I guess using the texture you see from the front seat when mirrors are off is a good solution.
  12. The exposure time will make it brighter, like in those photos, but not affect the colour balance. Sodium streetlights really look that yellow in real life too.
  13. Typical 747 pilot.
  14. Almost certainly a double-mapping. Check your settings!
  15. Was kinda sad to see that, when stationary on the ground, the rotors of the Huey aren't affected by strong winds. This does happen for the Ka-50 and Mi-8. Any plans to implement this, or is there any technical reason why it shouldn't happen on this aircraft?
  16. Are you kidding me? I clown 747 drivers every day on the 104th server in my MD-11. No chance.
  17. That is the single ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. I love it.
  18. Never buy i7's, not worth it for gaming. Overclock an i5 instead.
  19. Just purchased it! Any update on the release date? Mid December last I heard.
  20. I think it's a decent system. I buy most of the stuff during sales, but from time to time I'll buy something that isn't discounted, spending my bonus and creating my own little sale.
  21. No, bonus can't be applied to discounted items.
  22. I agree with that post in its entirety. I want to be able to have only units cast dynamic shadows.
  23. So a moderator edited in "TURN FLAT SHADOWS OFF". I'd like to ask about that. Why is this effect not at all as common in 1.5 with the same settings? Is it because the mesh is much flatter in the other map? Anyway, since the flat shadows = off option decimates frames for almost all users (read any performance discussion thread), I'd suggest finding some other solution to the above problem. Your own aircraft not casting a proper shadow is pretty immersion breaking IMO, and not something I'd expect for a new engine. How about the player aircraft casting dynamic shadows but nothing else?
  24. Weird. You guys should really post a track.
