  1. Those are some really interesting lines of thought. Is there a clever way we can test this?
  2. It would be useful if the people who have noticed this issue stated whether they had RATOs (they're not jets btw) on the plane at any point.
  3. I think locking and sealing in one go is kosher.
  4. Was it recorded with an older version of the game?
  5. Yep. The entire field of neurology is forever grateful to those pioneering golfers.
  6. What I wanna know is if the Christmas decorations the 21 fires atm are realistic.
  7. Those of you who understand Swedish might get something out of this. Well actually, you other riff-raff should watch it too and enjoy the noises your Viking overlords make.
  8. They didn't include the whole thing, but DCS has shoulders and stuff now right, that it didn't have when this mod was developed?
  9. So does it use its own software to calibrate or just tell you what to do?
  10. Wow. Ok. For $100 I'd have come to your house and fiddled with the buttons until you got what you wanted.
  11. I don't think connection type matters (although are you seriously running two on an analogue port? I'd try to avoid that...), it's gonna be panel settings if they're all connected to the same graphics card. Just have the same picture on all the monitors and then fiddle with the colour settings on the monitors themselves until you're happy. Even though you have the same model monitors, there's no guarantee you'll be able to perfectly match them (they might have different panels for different batches, etc). If you can't, try not to make it drive you crazy. You can also adjust the desktop colour settings via the nvidia control panel individually, but I'd suggest you stick to only adjusting the monitors themselves at first. EDIT: I read your post again and I'm pretty sure you mean DVI rather than VGA.
  12. Or, you know, the manual..
  13. Yeah, I don't think it's VRAM, but you never know. Maybe the lights were still doing something funny and invisible. But yeah, it's most probably some avionics going crazy, producing heavy CPU load. Weird that not everyone gets it, though; there has to be some system dependence too.
  14. Who needs EDGE, eh? :P Ground textures, Mustang's sky shaders and sweetfx? The cockpit is interesting but I love the blue.
  15. I know for a fact that the 21 cockpit on high settings is juuuust on the border of 2 gigs of VRAM usage. It's probably not that (but it's not trivial enough to warrant the kind of reply you got).
  16. While I agree with your fundamental point, I don't at all agree with this. Architecture does, and will, make a huge difference. I have a 2500k, and do you really mean to tell me that if I get a current gen 4-core I won't get a hell of a performance boost, clock-for-clock? Because I'm almost certain I will.
  17. ^ Yeah, probably somewhat from manufacture, but also from uneven use; rolling more than pitching, which I'm pretty sure we all do, or at least pulling more than pushing. That will probably wear the four holes differently, and thus you have another mechanism producing preferred directions. At first I also suspected that the orientation of the main spring (which is obviously cut at two places and therefore not symmetrical) could have a similar effect, but I tested it quite thoroughly the last time I greased mine and saw no evidence of that. Another thing: if you mess with platform directions your calibration will most probably also end up out of whack, so make sure to check that.
  18. One thing I found is that the platform performs differently depending on the orientation at which it is installed. I got more or less play in all of the four possible rotations, so if you have your stick apart again it might be worth checking which direction gets you the best result.
  19. I've lost elevator authority once too, but in a shallow dive at non-excessive (but possible supersonic) speed. I pulled the stick and nothing happened, which killed me. It was a while ago and I can't post a track, sadly, so I know this anecdote doesn't add much.
  20. Well, EDGE probably will run smoother; the current engine is outdated and inefficient as I understand it. How the new maps run, however, is anybody's guess I suppose. Note that those are two different things.
  21. Yeah, I can't reproduce it either. The other week, a buddy I was flying with and I both noticed that our gear horns hadn't sounded when retracting. Just wanted to check if anyone else had noticed anything.
  22. I'm sure that the landing gear warning horn hasn't sounded on several of my raising/lowering operations lately. I thought it was always supposed to sound. Ideas?
  23. GeorgeLKMT makes some of the best liveries I've ever seen.
  24. How long did it take for you guys to notice the stuttering? I did some tests earlier, just a few mins, and I never saw anything like that.
