  1. I noticed that the tree I'm stuck against is the same exact tree as the larger one on the left - only the one I'm stuck on is smaller. But what's odd is that I was playing again yesterday and hit a similar looking tree and had no issues (tree fell over / didn't stop the tank)
  2. It won't matter what the Dynamic Campaign looks like if the Combined Arms pathfinding and unit control is still completely borked....and right now the RTS aspect of combined arms is not good.

  4. The M60A3 is in game, which has a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun in real life.
  5. Occupy the vehicle first and THEN give it a route (then engage autopilot) Right now, if you occupy a vehicle mid-route it will cancel that vehicles route. More CA weirdness.
  6. I'd rather see the game have its foundations as a Real Time Strategy game with First/Third person elements mixed in. I want to be able to click on a unit and give it orders like you would in any RTS and then watch my units actually do the thing I gave it orders to do. Then I want to be able to jump into first person and control the vehicle - I think the game, Call to Arms: Gates of Hell, does this really well on a very small scale. Most games that focus on first/third person like ARMA struggle with 'command options' and also require a LOT of people to do....anything. I call these "1:1 Scale" games. I'd rather see Tactical Commanders actually doing.....exactly that; tactically commanding things. But also give the players the option to jump in and pull the trigger when they feel like it.
  7. Yes, absolutely. But I also feel like I'm just waiting for CA to see some improvements.....patiently....since 2011. In real life ground combat will always be the most important domain in the multiple domains of combat. Despite what most DCS players think, the air component will always be a supporting operation to the land component within any Joint Task Force. That's just how it is. Seizing and retaining terrain will always be the most important part of war. I believe that DCS has a game engine that has potential for large-scale, combined arms combat. I own a bunch of aircraft modules but I mostly find flying to be boring and tedious. However, but the idea of commanding large formations and operations that integrates combined arms is more interesting to me than anything.

  10. The Challenger 2 in game is currently using L23 ammunition which was used for the Challenger 1 and the L11A5 gun on the CR1. It's ammunition from the totally wrong gun and wrong caliber for the CR2. The proper ammo type should be the L27A1 or L28A1.
  11. APC/IFV can transport infantry. BUT.... It requires specific waypoints in game for Embarking and Disembarking, it's not something you can do on the 'fly' and not something that can be done by a player. It might only meet the intent of your scenario if the AI is controlling these assets. You can also start the infantry pre-mounted. It's not much 'easier', other than avoiding them doing the weird infantry-dance that they do. Another bit of frustration with Combined Arms is that people have no idea what the capabilities are of the module.
  12. Current US vehicles (M1A2, M2 Brad) are using the 5.56 Machine gun sound for their 7.62mm coaxial machine guns.
  13. The gunner sight shakes wildly when stabilization is enabled AND the tank is on autopilot.
  14. Title Turn on thermals in gunner view and when switching to isometric (3rd person) view the tank is still showing in thermals. Thermals should turn off when going into 3rd person view.

  21. Steel Beasts does it, so I'm not sure where you got this idea that its a totally unique problem.
