  1. it hasn't but chill out its no big deal
  2. Listening to the latest episode of the air combat sim podcast. They have a former F14 RIO and at one point he talks about if you had one jet with one working missile i.e the Phoenix it would be a bonus and the missile was a bit of a nightmare. Was the missile that bad? Or was it a case of towards the end of the missiles life cycle they become more and more temperamental. If this is the case is the Phoenix over performing in dcs? reading the only two times the Phoenix has been fired in combat by the us it has failed. Although in Iranian service it has been claimed to be far more successful. Perhaps dud missiles need to be simulated maybe
  3. I would love to see a Miramar mod with hangars and the like from the airbase. I remember there was some payware that did it for FS2004 or something it was fun. I know we don’t have a map of California but maybe for the Nevada map it would be a lot of fun
  4. yeah its not the flood lights they are off
  5. Ok thanks for the advice I have Clocked to 4.8ghz I originally tried 5.0 stupidly instead of incrementing and the PC wouldn't boot. Fortunately removing my battery from the board reset the bios. I then incremented until I reached 4.8 and loaded and XMP2 profile for my memory all seems stable and I have achieved a significantly higher benchmark. I am achieving 45fps in the F14 although I am running a modded cockpit. But I have noticed a big jump in performance. For example I can fly over Dover in the Channel map without any drops from 45fps which I have never been able to achieve before. I also have been able to run clouds at high as well which is a bonus as they look pretty awful in VR if set to low. Thanks everyone.
  6. Does anybody else find with the Spitfire that the cockpit seems too illuminated in VR particularly around the area where your rudder pedals are. It looks as though I have flood lights on but I have checked that I don't. I feel it should be more shadowy perhaps its just me.
  7. Thanks that looks beautiful, unfortunately I have no idea how you would incorporate this into an ai mod, I would pay to get it but wouldn't know what to do with it lol, should have been more clear, does anybody have something they have made to work in DCS.
  8. Hi, i9 11900k overclocked at 4.20ghz RTX 3080 10 GB 64gb DDr4 3600 RAM Running a Reverb G1 I have always had at least 2xMSAA set as I just find it looks so awful without, all other modules I can do this and maintain 45fps. With the F18 and AV8b I can run 4x MSAA The only way I can maintain 45 fps with the F14 without dropping into the 30s is by running modded cockpits. The standard cockpit textures seem to be too much to handle. Once the sim drops into the 30s its very noticeable with screen tearing. Would just like to run at 45fps without jagged edges and shimmering and not have to keep using mods, thanks for any advice or help.
  9. I'd like to see some more British ai assets. Tornado adv, lynx helicopter, puma helicopter. Nimrod, sea harrier, would like a decent model of the F4 as well. But not the ugly ones an F4J or K
  10. Does anybody have a .model of the Tornado ADV that they could add to dcs as just an ai mod? Would like to make some missions with it?

    Pilot body vr

As title suggests does it have one? Thanks
  12. Bought a new PC was hoping to have the F14 where I wanted it with VR sadly it still underperforms and like the first post says is the only module that does, tried the brickdust VR friendly pit mod, it gains a few FPS but still underperforms in my opinion. Its a shame a was hoping a new rig would bring the best out of the F14. But on the plus side all other modules are running beautifully.
  13. So my new system is running beautifully with most modules after some playing around. Initially was getting around 65fps in VR Win 11 with my new rig. I had very high settings 4X MSAA textures high water high shadows medium, high terrain textures, terrain distance medium, clouds high. Despite the decent fps looking side to side I noticed unacceptable juddering. Motion smoothing didn't help. However enabling motion vector in reprojection options has given me incredibly smooth performance, FPS is set at 45fps but looking side to side and the way objects rush towards and past me is better than I have ever experienced, very pleased. I have high hopes for channel map once it downloads as i've never been able to enjoy it in VR, fingers crossed. HBs F14 is still the worst offender and despite my rig I cant run the Tomcat to anywhere near the settings I have for say the Hornet or the Harrier. So I have some playing around to do to see what sort of graphics settings I can apply for that. I noticed that GPU scheduling is on by default in Win 11. I have turned it off and shall see if that makes a difference. Edit: GPU Scheduling with Win11 seems to be of benefit where as with Win 10 it seemed to hamper performance i9 11900k @ 4.20ghz 64gb DDR4 3600 memory GeForce RTX 3080 HP Reverb G1
  14. I just don't want it to disapear for a year while they make a new one i'm quite happy with the existing it would be nice to have it updated but when they did the new blackshark cockpit the pilot model never came back
  15. I’ve just ordered a new pc and they can only pre install windows 11 on it so hopefully I will find dcs works like some have said. If not I will have to format and reinstall windows 10.
  16. So after much deliberation I decided to order a custom build PC, the price of video cards atm means its more feasible for me to buy a custom build and sell the parts of my old computer. Its the first time I have not built my own PC, but I've gone with specs that should be as suited to DCS VR as possible. 17. performance gain was minimal compared to the 1080ti so i sent it back, pondering whether to try with a 3070ti.
  18. saw a 6800 become available for just over 1000 pounds at overclockers.co.uk so have gone for it I shall keep my fingers crossed it lives up to expectations Hopefully having 16gb of video memory will help with VR
  19. I hope so F14 cockpit isn’t very taxing for me in VR.
  20. Yeah thanks, I think I’ve worked out the stick is absolutely garbage. I shall keep a look out for a MS FFB. I tried the F16 and the F14. It is working but with the F16 there is hardly any feedback. F14 there is but the level of quality and accuracy compared to my TM warthog stick with extension is not comparable. I only really wanted it for the F16 being that it has a short side stick. I have a CH flightstick for the F16 and that works really well. But would have been nice to try FFB. I shall sell this Logitech on eBay.
  21. Normandy map seems to benefit from disabling Motion reprojection, in VR where I have not seen much benefit to it in other maps. Despite keeping a steady 45fps looking left or right on the Normandy map and rolling I notice stuttering. This goes by disabling the MR. Otherwise Normandy works well and for me is the only map I can use for WW2 in VR as the channel map runs awful still after all this time. Unfortunately though the Normandy map looks outdated now, colours look wrong and it just lacks a little quality for me.
  22. Hello purchased the above but don't seem to be getting any feedback from it in DCS does anybody have any experience of setting one of these up in DCS i have Force feedback enabled in options. It does work as well when testing with the Logitech software.
  23. Hi everyone, without wanting to sound like a broken record, i just need some individual advice with this, but specifically regarding two particular cards in VR because spending a thousand pounds is a lot of money. So thankyou so much Derekspeare for your link its been handy getting a comparison for specific cards. What i have decided is that for it to be worth my while going from a 1080ti I want to look at least at a 2080ti or a 3070ti both are close in terms of performance according to the benchmark table provided by Derekspeare. Both similar in price. Does anybody have specific experience with these two cards in DCS with VR. I just want to run dcs VR at a steady 45fps but maintain decent graphical quality. So as an example I have run two instant action missions 1st F14 takeoff in Caucasus, F14 is one of the worst performers in VR, so with VR preset settings apart from MSAA x2 because i cant stand the jagged edges, and PD at 1.0 Steam VR PD at 100% I get 35fps at takeoff, turning left over terrain objects buildings it drops to about 30fps. Second instant action mission P-51 map free flight, channel map I have hardly used since purchasing because i cant get it to run right, 30fps dropping to 25fps flying over buildings and really starts to stutter. For me to maintain anything like 45fps i have to lower Steam VR PD to about 80% and dcs PD at 0.8.. So going by DCS players advice which of these two cards will give me the better performance for VR. And do you think they will get me to anywhere near the levels i am after. Advice is really appreciated from someone with either of these cards and which would be the best bet. And regarding optimisation I have eeked everything I can from my PC CPU is overclocked to 4.4ghz, gone with thuds VR guide and have set all my NVIDIA settings as advised etc PC Ryzen 7 3700x OC to 4.4ghz GTX 1080ti 3200 DDR4 RAM 32GB HP REVERB G1
