  1. I just don't think that ED really needs to moddel the whole. Just my opinion, of course. But, do I really want to fly over New Jersey? Model where operations will be taking place. And if ED did want to go the FS 2020 approach, how would they make the environment destructable? That's an issue, of course. When I want to take a flight around the world, I'll jump into FS2020, because I will be getting that. When I wan't to blow something up, it'll be in DC World.
  2. Yes, it was a common practice in training squadrons in the States. That's why I made sure that I put "combat zones" in my post.
  3. NEVER, have I EVER heard of guns being removed from a P-47 in the combat zones. The 8 fifties were one of the planes biggest assets. Why the Hell would anyone do that?
  4. Since the two seater problem seems to have been worked out rather nicely, might it be possible that an Apache might see the light? I haven't purchased any of the helicopters, but that would change if an Apache showed up. I imagine that machine would sell well. But I haven't seen any indication that it's in thed works by anyone.
  5. I managed to purchase the two campaigns by entering the store from the game. If I start the sim and then go in from there I don't get the warnings about them not being avaialable.
  6. Well, I really thought that was going to be the problem. But, I have the Epsom campaign, and it has all of the same requirements as the Clostermann campaign. I ran the Epson mission without any problems. WW2 objects all over the place, so I do have the assets pack in my ED install. Oh forget it. It's not all that important. Saves me some money!
  7. Okay! You know what...I think that must be it. When ED allowed us to move anything we had on Steam, over to our ED install, I did it. I may have missed something. I'll bet that I still have the assets module connected to my Steam account. Gonna look into that right now. Thanks.
  8. I have the Mustang, the Spitfire and the Normandy map. All of the modules that it said were needed for those campaigns.
  9. Okay, I see that it still says "Not Available." Do we just ignore that and order anyway?
  10. Yeah, sorry. I realized that I probably put that in the wrong place and posted it here.
  11. Campaigns Not Available? There's a sale going on so I thought I'd pick up a couple of campaigne. But they all show "Not Available" in red letters. So, what's up?

  13. Seriously? You want to dodge SAMs and be intercepted by MiGs while flying a transport? Sounds like fun....all two minutes of it.
  14. Good to hear. Hope it works because the airplane is fun to fly. More so if it wasn't for shaky!
  15. I enjoy flying the Christan Eagle, but that guy in the back with Parkinson's desease...geez! I hope there's a planned fix for that.
  16. It does lessen when he looks straight ahead and then get really crazy when he turns his head. I haven't seen this in the bug reports. Is everyone not having it, only a few of us?
  17. I just picked this up. Fun to fly, but one issue. The guy in back is shaking as though he has Parkinsons' desease. It's weird. He does it during the entire flight. Yet the guy in front is just fine. Any fix?
  18. Six 50's are pretty deadly if you watch USAAF gun camera footage. The U.S. continued to use them in it's fighters throughout the war. And then put them in the first generation jets. Actually, nearly all U.S. fighters had the browning 50 caliber machine gun as it's armament. Well, maybe you could argue that I just didn't hit anything vital. A stretch I think, but okay. I'll go with that and continue testing.
  19. I flew my P-51 and set myself up against the new 190A. I got behind him, but it seems a little too fast. A Mustang shouldn't have that much trouble staying with an A model Focke Wulf. But that's not my complaint right now. I did manage to hit him. Again and again and again. "Fw190 hit, FW190 hit," over and over again. Dozens of hits. He goes on flying. The 190 finally manages to get behind me when I almost spun in. He shoots. Once. I'm dead! After I crashed I'm shown the 190 flying around. He's a sieve. I've managed to put holes all over the airplane, especially his right wing. The right aileron is swiss cheeze and the wing and right side of the fuselage is full of holes. Didn't bother him a bit. I had flown the Spit against it last night, and 20mm do him in. But the plane seems to absorb 50 cal like it's a sponge. I think that, and the speed, may need some work.
  20. Because when you're a private pilot, and that's what the school you're with uses and that's what they rent...then that's what you fly. My last airplane was a kitplane. A Sonex. A whole lot more fun than a Cessna 172. The Cessna 172 isn't a bad airplane, don't get me wrong. But you have a flight sim where people can design the most excting planes in the world for you to fly. And you want the Cessna 172? I stand by my post. And what do you mean I don't understand the post? The guy wants a Cessna 172 in here. What is it that I'm not understanding?
  21. A Cessna 172? As a real life pilot, I can't undersand why anyone would want such a boring airplane? I've got so many hours in 152's and 172's that I've lost count. So what are you guys going to do with it? It isn't airbatic. So you're gonna take off, fly somewhere and then you're gonna land. You'd pay for an airplane that can do nothng but that? If you want a Cessna, what about the 337. The Skymaster. It was used as an FAC in Viet-Nam. So at least you'd have an airplane that can DO something. Having a Cessna O-2 marking your targets with rockets might be a blast. And you'd have your civilian version, too. It's fast, has retractable gears, and is much more fun to fly than a 172.
  22. The F-16. I really didn't expect that to happen. Well, it hasn't yet, but it does seem as though it might. I haven't bought a high fidelity ED jet since the A-10 came out. And that has been quite a while Not because they aren't good, but because I just don't want to invest in the time that they require. I love my F-86 and F-15. They are easy to get into and remember. I fly them all the time. But I actually don't remember the last time I was in the Warthog. I've even had my finger hovering over the Harrier buy button. But then I think about having to learn it, and I say, "Ah, forget it!" I've become a lazy flight simmer. But I just don't see how I can resist this model. The F-16 has been my favorite "modern" jet fighter since the first time I saw one. I'll have to buy this and "hit the books" I guess! It's going to be a big success for them, I think.
  23. What about that F4U? Last screenshots I saw looked terrific. Pacific map or not, I'd have to buy that. Is it still under developement? I always find myself getting excited over what I think is an impending release, and then don't hear any more about it for five years. You'd think I'd know by now!
  24. I'm not interested in this airplane at all, but it does show me what can be done by people working on their own, out there. I would love to see someone try a Japanese fighter. A Hiyate, or a Shoki. I'd love to fly against one of those in my Mustang.
  25. Cliffs of Dover for a Battle of Britain scenario! Why the hell would they do that? We don't have a single airplane that took part in that epic battle. No. Korea? Hmmm....a bit ambitious for something that's going to be free. But I'm all for it. Screaming down the runway at Kimpo in my F-86 and heading north for the Yalu. Hell yeah!
