Russians can operate moderns from grass. Expect modern operation ....with Mig-29 against Spitfires :D
-
they were a fun bug back in the time, where you could break the main gear, but the plane would still be able to land on the gear cover.

Wing over 2 - Playstation. (well, had my share of plane stuff thru megadrive but wasn't really sim). Earlier than that - We had no computer home but my father once had my fly on one of his friends flight simulator. That was old, I was young, i don't recall the name but 3D was barely thin lines on the screen :P

OR..... you simply build your own homecockpit :D

Russian missiles - usage, bug, problems, advantages
Darkwolf replied to tovivan's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
When you see the Ethiopian conflict and the amount of R27 missile fired / plane downed, it's finally quite accurate :D :D :D If i recall, only one mig was hit and it could made it back to base and crash there. I'm wondering if he did not actually ran into the missile by mistake. Don't get me wrong, i'm a mig driver myself :D -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3
Darkwolf replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Its because you are doing circles with your F15 when everyone is sleeping :D Stats are nice but that would be even greater if by chance we could get amount of sorties/plane so we can get an attrition rate :) I am really curious about survivability. RedFor Su-25 production line isn't going to get out of business :D -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 3

It is very interresting to see that su-27 and F-15C loss were equivalent. the lack of ARH missile is finally not an issue with the flanker ! -

KA-50 A2A technique (Not a weapons request...)
Darkwolf replied to M1Combat's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well, I got one of my guys that obviously don't know about it. He got a few Migs in his scoreboard :D -
one of my guys noticed change of landing speed. We were usually landing between 380/350 kph, with stall happening at 320 - now he can land as low as 300 without issue.
-
He probably wans a time machkne and get back to ww2 where his theory would eventually be ok

Vodka Squadron is flying 1.5 - Fell free to re-allocate out slots for this one. We'll be happy to fly the campaign again soon. Good luck to all the pilots and have fun  -
that may explain why a tank at 40km has the size of a cruise ship

One thing i've noticed most of time is noise issue and language issue. Language issue : Most of us can write/read english, however lot of people just can't speak/hear it. This drive people to be shy with Teamspeak. this is not helped by the fact lots of people underestimate their skill in English. Noise issue : Lot of people have issue talking 2hours in a mic, like having a child/wife/cat sleeping in the next room, or such situation. Some don't even have microphone, to begin with. Cooperation issue : Some people just don't give a crap and want to stay on their corner. Other squadrons : Other squadrons usually have their own TS. We rarely use host TS, unless we are part of a strike package. in our case, we keep TS for our flight comms, and resort to teamchat for the tactical and strategic layer. Chat message are way better than voice for inter squadron comm since they aren't impacted by most issue and everyone can get it. If we are really flying in some complex strike package, then we usually move to the other people's TS or invite them.

Not having a single hour on a real plane does not prevent to have several thousands hours on the simulator and feel something weird on a specific airframe. :music_whistling: I actually feel something weird with the FM too - push/pull the stick max and you do cobras. :D

I could go up to 8500m in loaded Su-25T, without even forcing. I did not tried to go higher as i was reaching the combat area, but things have been changed. :music_whistling:

I did test a while ago. That was flying above MANPAD, with different configurations - preventive flares, DIRCM, various engine RPM. I need to do it again as it was years ago (and flare logic changed) and i lost the metrics since...- but globally : Most essential factor is engine RPM. Slam your throttle back when fired upon and pump flares. Flares are absolutely useless with afterburner. Plane aspect can lower/increase that factor. Preventive flare was useless back in the time, but they changed the flare logic in the meantime so this one need test again. At least, preventive flares works against Mig21. DIRCM works well in the rear sphere. Lower per half PK - however it is impacted by Engine RPM. useless against frontal all-aspect IR missile. Flares effect depends on many things - type of missile incoming (early or late IR seeker) - timing and volume of flares.

I thought you did not wanted to host on open beta ? :music_whistling: Just teasing, thank you for the awesome work on this server !

Or point nose down. Radar is not stabilized like F15/Su27.... :D

C-101 is missing as ground object. :(

Ground stuff is visible from 40+km. In the picture attached, i zoomed in, but they are as visible when unzoomed. I had absolutely no intel on this arty company and yet found this one out at the first flight, far from my initial target area. In snowy area, it's even worse. I don't think that it is very realistic. A green tank on a green grass shouldn't be that visible at 40km. I understand that they were a lot of demand for cheated view but that is way too cheated. :music_whistling: I hope server side will be able to restrict this.

I was all AMD for years. I had very bad experience with Intel/Nvidia while retaining a wonderful level of reliabilty with AMD. However, AMD is clearly eating dust nowaday. so it's not surprising that they are going down. I started considering going back to intel/nvidia after some issue with intrusive AMD drivers forcing you to install raptr and other "gaming software stuff". Tom's hardware guide on CPU is clear about AMD level nowaday :/

Big issue then. You can spot a tank in snow from 50km now on. Even drunk. That would be great to have server setting. :music_whistling:
