  1. There are some weird anomalies that I've seen with the NDB's. Both in my campaign, and outside of it. Please continue to post any issues you may have with them, I might have to figure out some work-around to problematic NDB's in a patch. One thing I did note a while back, and something you'll run into later during the campaign, is an issue with the Gali NDB. I posted a threat about it a while back, feel free to take a look at this link, as you guys will probably notice it too. Gali NDB 525 problem ---> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159042
  2. Please report any bugs that you may encounter during your play-through of the campaign. Be sure to include, in your post, which aircraft you're playing the campaign with. There are some subtle differences between the two campaigns. (not in the story or anything, but with how some A.I. units act) Thanks everyone! - Apache600
  3. Has the NDB's been giving you issues in the later missions too? that is an odd one, and it sounds like you are doing everything correctly
  4. bug issues? feel free to use "Wrap
  5. Thanks for the kind words guys!
  6. Glad to hear you're enjoying the campaign! Feel free to start a new thread about issues or difficulties you may have with a mission (just so we don't clog up this thread, and potentially spoil something for someone who didn't expect seeing that content here). I can get more specific on giving you tips then too. - Apache600
  7. Here's my post from the "announcement" thread in case any of you may have missed it. With my little FC3 example from the post above, it's not the best example, just one that I could come up with quickly. With The Museum Relic, you pick either to fly the campaign with the F-86 OR the MiG-15. You will not be intermixing aircraft half way through the campaign. However, if you have both aircraft, you can choose which plane you want to fly the campaign with. The problem is with how the campaign installs into the DCS folder. If you own just the MiG-15, then when the campaign is installed, there's no where for the F-86 side of the files to go, since your version of DCS has no F-86 folders. When you go to the Main Menu, and click "Campaign" you will see all the aircraft that you own, and all their associated campaigns. But you can't see campaigns for aircraft you do not own. Just like when you're customizing your flight controls. You only see the aircraft that you own in that list. - Apache600

  9. Hello everyone, First of all, my apologies for a late response, I've been busy with real world work all day. Secondly, I was able to get a hold of Wags, and unfortunately my fears about compatibility are true. As of right now, you must own both the MiG-15 and F-86 modules in order to play this campaign. I want to reassure everyone that this is, in no way, a ploy by ED to force a purchase of an aircraft you may not want. Rather, this is a miscommunication during our initial conversations months ago, and I'll take the blame for that. The way modules, keys, and all that "behinds the scenes stuff" works,, is that since this is a campaign for two platforms, you do need both. Imagine there's a FC3 campaign, and you want to fly it, but you only own 1 of the 6 aircraft. It wouldn't work because you would need the other 5 aircraft as well. That's the best analogy I can come up with right now. Rest assured that I am working with Matt, and ED, to figure out a way that I can get this campaign to those of you with only 1 of the 2 aircraft. This was my initial intention, and I will work to make it reality. Again, I sincerely apologize for the current confusion, and hope to soon see it remedied. Thank you all, for your understanding. -Apache600
  10. I'm still working on seeing if I can find an answer to all of this confusion. In the mean time, Briefing Documents, and more, have been posted in the campaigns Sub-Folder. - Apache600
  11. Hello everyone, I'd like to thank all of you for your interest in the campaign. Listed below are a number of different links, guides, and tutorials to aid you through the campaign, as well as how to manage the two aircraft. Some of this information may be redundant with what you can find on the original announcement page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Intro stories to the campaign. (These exist in your doc file as well, but to save from digging through your hard drive, here they are) MiG-15 Intro: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8D9__Jf0wgISnM1eDhTVmM4ZjQ F-86 Intro: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8D9__Jf0wgIcTIzVGd3bnVqTHM/view ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full Size Mission Briefings for every briefing page of every mission. (needless to say, this has Spoiler Alert written all over it. Consider yourself warned if you go ahead and click on a mission you haven't gotten to yet.) MiG-15 Mission Briefings: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hberhltjpmv4t5q/AACOxI4XfBIyqz05tFpn5E5Pa?dl=0 F-86 Mission Briefings: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/04jfgxq4fkywla9/AABMpZbyDVUYl2kK4mDu5zq1a?dl=0 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are some helpful guides for flying the aircraft. Heavily leaning towards the MiG-15 at the moment, I'll be working on some things for the F-86 as well. MiG-15 RSI-6K Frequency / Wave Conversion Table: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8D9__Jf0wgIWm9ySlJxNmNPZE0 MiG-15 ATC Guide (F-86 can also use the NDB frequencies): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8D9__Jf0wgIbFZYZW9JRWV0M0k MiG-15 Checklist: (link to a previous forum post I made) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160188 YouTube tutorial for Old School Instruments and Navigation that I created. This will help anyone who wants to learn the Radio's and NDB's for the MiG-15 and/or F-86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Missions that are particularly difficult for one reason or another, I've made a guide to help you get through them. SPOILER ALERT for those who watch this video. This shows a step-by-step progression of the "Cloak and Dagger" the 16th Stage (Listed as Mission 10 in the briefing) of the Museum Relic Campaign for DCS. The video starts at the initial briefing, and ends back at the ramp, after a successful mission completion. Only watch if you have tried to pass this mission, but have been unsuccessful so far (and have also opted not to do the "Auto-Success" radio command ... or just want to come back for more punishment haha). I created this video because I believe it may give some people a lot of difficulty. It is a departure from the normal kind of missions that you'll find in DCS. The difficulty here lays in the need to manage instrument like flying skills while low to the ground. Personally it is one of my favorite missions in the campaign, because of its uniqueness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope all of you enjoy the campaign! If there's any questions you may have, feel free to ask!!! - Apache600
  12. I'm waiting to hear from ED about this question. sorry
  13. Location: Sacramento, California Language: English Other languages: none Accent: Midwest (originally from Wisconsin). Experience: "The Museum Relic" campaign, some small Single and Multi player missions. Some voices in Baltic Dragons campaigns. Recording equipment: Little $35 Sony microphone. Does the job, but thank goodness for editing software. Kind of voice: Male, mid-to-high pitch.
  14. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I couldn't be more excited to see that the campaign has finally released. And I am working to see if I can find those answers to your questions about the verbiage of the release (whether you need both aircraft or not) Once the sub-folder for the campaign is created in the "DLC Campaign's" section, I'll make a post that has links to all sorts of helpful resources. Those resources will initially include larger downloadable mission briefings for every page to every mission, and also a video walk-thru for one of the more challenging missions later in the campaign. Thanks again everyone!
  15. would be cool to have in the library! Might be really good for some ambient background chatter.
  16. Temperature. lower temp, lower contrail level. At least that's what I found.
  17. Really cool pictures! And it's awesome that the folks at the museum gave you the amount of access they did.
  18. Did you double check the morse code identifier to make sure you had it selected? Try both the Inner and Outer marker as well. That is kinda odd that Sochi worked though. Curious to know what you come up with. The campaign isn't out yet. ED will be releasing it soon. You'll know it is when they post it in there "Friday's change-log/updates".
  19. That really is the only way to tell "To-From" on an NDB. If it's pointing in front of you or behind you. I have no idea why it wouldn't have spun after over-flying it. It should have. Can you recreate this issue? And if so, take a video showing your NAV set-up. If you're still having trouble, you can check out the NDB tutorial video I have on the first post in the link in my signature down below.
  20. Yep, That's what I do too. What kind of friendly unit do you use to lase? I use infantry (so they are harder to see and won't be mistaken as an enemy unit)
  21. a sneak peak to your F-5 guide Chuck? Very nice as always! Love the incorporated pictures for us visual learners. Looking at steps 10 & 11 (with the associated pictures) do you have them labeled incorrectly? The text seems to be in the right order though. Keep up the great work Chuck! You're such an asset to this community
  22. what kind of unit are you trying to target? also at what range? I have noticed that infantry don't like being lased. and you also need to do it from a short range. Even at 500 meters or so, with no LOS problems, they don't seem to want to lase the target.
  23. nope. The most you can do is just make the aircraft "invisible" to the enemy side, and then make it go "visible" when it hits your trigger
  24. two problems. 1) F-5E only has TACAN (and that is similar to a VOR, not an ADF) <- ok, looks like I was wrong. There IS an ADF here in the aircraft ... I just can't figure out how to use it. 2) From my understanding, only the Huey can pick up signals for tracking transmitted ADF signals. I could be very wrong though EDIT! After doing some research and testing, I couldn't have been more wrong! I tested this on the F-5E, Mig-15, and F-86. You can have ADF locations set up two different ways. Either on a trigger location (similar to how you do smoke markers) or on an actual unit. For Trigger location ADF: Set up a location by doing "Create Trigger Zone" and name it "Beacon" or whatever you'd like. Then under the triggers do "Radio Transmission" There you can put in a sound file (of a Morse code if you'd like, and set to repeat) or just keep it quiet. Then select the zone you just created, and set the AM radio station. For Unit ADF: Set up a unit and under its "Advanced Waypoint" or "Triggered Actions" set up "Transmit Message" under the "Perform Command" section. You need to make sure that you set the A.I.'s frequency correctly. Hope this helps! - Apache600
