  1. Here's some hints for ya!
  2. Yes (at least in the commercial airline stuff) you can hear yourself transmit very clearly. Shagrat basically nailed it on the head. You'd probably want to chop off the top and bottom hz range, because like he said, it is you hearing yourself from the mic and through your little headset speakers. When we put our O2 mask's on (full face mask with forced oxygen flow) then there is a more muffled sound, and it's more difficult for me to listen to myself. But that's because I'm no longer wearing a headset. I'm now listening to myself through the speaker that's two feet above me head. ATC has no problem understanding me though, so I think it would be very similar to speaking from the boom mic.
  3. Hello there Domarien. I'll give you the low down of the triggers in the mission. I double checked everything in the mission editor, and it looks to me like everything should be working correctly. Here's how the triggers unfold: (If you still have this issue, I'd love to see the replay or Tacview of the mission) Thanks! Any other questions, feel free to ask! - Apache600
  4. Perfect. Thank you good sir
  5. Thanks for that awesome write up Pizzicato! Makes all the work that was put into it worth it
  6. I have proposed the ideas of how to make all this work, but I'm still waiting on word from ED (I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what all goes on behind the scenes). I'm sure they have their hands full, at the moment, with DCS 2.5 and their other projects. We just have to wait and see. I appreciate your patience, and am just as hopeful as the rest of you to see the campaign split for the individual aircraft.
  7. I believe there's some mod software out there where you can create your own kneeboard stuff. Otherwise, you could always pull up the briefing page in game (left Alt +B i think) However, I've never used VR so I haven't a clue what that would look like. I'm telling myself to hold out until Gen 2 VR comes out ... it's getting difficult! haha
  8. Blah! Thanks for the report. Unfortunately there won't be an easy work-around for this one until the patch. This is an image (link below) I took directly from Mission 11 of the F-86 campaign months ago, and ran into the same problem. Oddly enough though, the Mig-15 version of this mission did not have these same problems. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=162951 Looks like i'll have to fix it the same way I did with the F-86 version. Thanks again!
  9. Thanks Pizzicato! That's what I like to hear :)
  10. check out my sticky post at the top of the subfolder. here's the link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2867331#post2867331 half way down there's the sections for the larger mission briefing files. Also, at the bottom of that post, you'll see a blurb specifically for Mission 10. There's a video I made that is a walk-thru of it too. For whatever reason, the videos aren't showing up properly, so you'll have to click the link. - Apache600
  11. Hey there pizzicato, Haha, pride can be a dangerous thing :) Here's some possible pointers for you! couple possible tips: 8.4 victory conditions:
  12. @ Glyn That is odd that the ground personnel are not responding to you. And even more odd with the overlay issues. That is beyond me and sounds like something within DCS. I was going to say that it may be because when you're on the ground, the mic button on the throttle doesn't always bring up the comm menu, but instead you revert back to the "\" key. (by default) but if you're getting the menus to come up, it seems that you already know about that. Mission 8-4 victory conditions in the spoiler below:
  13. Glad you're liking it so far!
  14. I want to thank all of you who have contributed voices and beta testing during the creation of this campaign. Many of you put in a great deal of time and effort to help me with this production. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. First and foremost, I’d like to thank my wife Elizabeth for putting up with my nerdy hobby. She’ll probably never read this, but I still want to thank her here. I’ve spent countless hours locked away in the spare bedroom, working on this project, and she still put’s up with me. Not only that, but she even volunteered to do some voice acting! She is the helo pilot in some of the missions. Secondly, a special thank you to one particular beta tester that was so much more. ItsCrisp. Let me tell you about this guy! Very early in the campaign testing, back when only a fraction of the first series of missions were concocted, is when he came on board. ItsCrisp tested missions with me, over and over again, giving valuable feedback and ideas. He also did some amazing voice work (actually, he did SUCH good voiceovers that I had to ask him to tone down some of his effects because he put the rest of what I had in my voiceover library to shame) Later, he then assisted me over Skype on figuring out how I should modify and set the sound effects, pitch, tone, etc for the final versions of all the sound files. And, if that’s not enough, ItsCrisp’s was the one who created the two custom skins for the Matova MiG-15 and F-86. That was all his work! I couldn’t have been luckier to have received the help I did from him. The campaign wouldn’t have been possible without his assistance. Thank you ItsCrisp, for all the help you selflessly provided. To the folks that provided voiceovers for the characters in the campaign, thanks you so very much: Here they are in no particular order: Voices from the ED Forums: DarkFire (various wingman aircraft, and the first to volunteer his voice for the campaign!), Baltic Dragon (He needs no introduction, a few different ground support roles), Cat (Head of DCS Mercenaries, he voiced the VIP aircraft), Feefifofum (Another infamous forum member, a few wingman roles, and also did the 1950’s voice in the trailer!!!), ghostdog_688 (wingman roles), ItsCrisp (see above  ), Fishnuts ( AWAC / Overwatch) Voice from other Forums: STORM (friendly aircraft / wingman) Komemiute (friendly aircraft / wingman) Various Voice Sources: Garrett L. (my younger brother who works as a logger in Oregon, wingman), Scott A. (a fellow pilot, and video game nerd. He also does amazing graphics for Orbx, wingman), John S. (an ol’ high school friend, helicopter pilot voices), Elizabeth L. (my lovely wife, helicopter pilot voices) Bobby G. (another fellow pilot, and actually my chief pilot at a previous carrier, wingman), Aaron S. (friend of mine on Steam, friendly pilot / wingman), RickRocket (friend of Baltic Dragon, general voice) And to my beta testers who helped test missions. ItsCrisp, Goestrip, Dutchy93, Oberfeldwebel Elmo, maikchaos, Jara4, Kevin M, Seyo. Thank you all! If not for your help, this campaign wouldn’t have been possible. - Apache600
  15. Quick question about aircraft power-up. Does the aircraft have an APU so it can do a stand-alone start, or will it rely on ground support to help it start up? I.E. whether it be a GPU (like the MiG-15 and F-86) or compressed air for turbine spin (like the F-5)?
  16. Looking at Lino's map here, there may only be 1 NDB NDB 326, just west of Creech. Lino's map ----> http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1587399/
  17. A head on charge will almost always end with a less then favorable result for you :) What I've done is, as I'm turning in to engage, I try and see which way the helo is facing. The moment they turn their nose towards me, I break off and try again. What I'll do is circle high above them until I can catch a flank or back attack, and then dive in. But even so, if they are able to snap their nose quickly and face me, I'll break off.
  18. Seems like the NDB's are a bit finicky. So, what I've picked up on is that it is all about the active runway, which is determined by the wind direction. At airports like Sochi and Nalchik, there's always only one way in and one way out (because of terrain), so the active runway remains the same no matter what the wind direction is. If we look at Gudauta and Sukumhi, those airports can have landing and take-off traffic in both directions, however, the only have one NDB (as opposed to Mozdok for example, or Anapa, which has NDB's on both sides of the runways) The active NDB always seems to correlate with the landing direction of the active runway. So in the case of Sukhumi, if the active runway has aircraft taking off towards the east, there are no NDB's that could work for that, since that would physically put the landing NDB in the ocean. So in this case, NDB 489 seems to be turned off. What I'll do in a the future patch, is make a custom NDB with the correct freq overlay the NDB's which don't seem to be turned on. Please, feel free to let me know which NDB's, in which missions, don't seem to be active. Thanks guys! - Apache600
  19. @ golani79 Haha, yep. Thanks. I ar a colage gradu8e, and i no plenty. @ dresoccer4 I was really hoping that people wouldn't have stumbled upon that. lol. When I built this campaign, I built the MiG-15 version first. Then, when I carried it over, and translated everything to the F-86 version, I left the main unit names as their Russian counterparts, so I knew which aircraft type they were supposed to be switched to. I.E. all SU-25's would turn into A-10's, All Mi-8's over to Black Hawks. Well, ok, not all. there are some differences here and there, but you get the concept.
  20. late as heck on this response, sorry. Yep that's me. You're probably sick as heck of this voice now too, since it's plastered all over the campaign as well. hahaha.
  21. Glad you got past it! And thanks for sending me that track of yours. After watching it, I think I see what you did wrong (well, not really wrong ... but you didn't do it the easy way. haha)
  22. @ fastfed, I have been in touch with ED about splitting the campaigns, and am working to figure out a way that it can be done. I'm hoping, just as much as the rest of you, that we can find a way.
  23. And the missions typically stay around areas that you become familiar with, so that should help considerably as well. They have not gotten back to me about that NDB concern of mine. Not the biggest deal though, as long as you're aware of it.
