  1. I'm with you as long as we are talking about how to make it more user friendly and can get rid of unneccessary buttons (like the weapon selector). But as you also said here were the first demands in this thread for macros which take parts of this wonderful module and move it to FC3 complexity. This would be the red line for me and as long as nobody could show me a balance option for multiplayer I would be against this kind of development. Btw for the countermeasure thing. When you take of in your A-10 countermeasures won't work until you switch the CMSP out of standby. In all the years nobody had a problem with it. May it be that the wider community through steam lead to these (good and bad) developments?
  2. You speak out of my soul sir!
  3. Don't think so. I use also a three way switch. There are still 3 steps to make and no script is doing the work for you. In the case of radar i simply use the mouse. So your argument works at maximum for the gear lever.
  4. I can follow people who are complaining about 11 switches for the weapon selector. Might be cool to only use an up/down variant. But we should draw a line when it comes to things like complex system modeling. There is a good reason why you have to do 3 steps to secure your cockpit. There is also a good reason why a real 21 pilot have to flip at least three switches to sucessfully retract the gear. The radar has also more than a simple off and on function. If you forget something you will pay the price. One may be loss of pressured air the other one the loss of consciousness at high alt or the loss of your radar due to mismanagement. Especially when flying multiplayer, it should have an effect if you can master your aircraft. So a simple "G" to retract and another "G" press to extend the gear may be ok for game mode but if you are flying the sim and especially online there should be some kind of common rules. Just my 2 cents
  5. SB Pro PE 3.023 released :) http://www.esimgames.com/
  8. Please don't judge the flight model by some of your experiences. As I will show with some posts of other users it is possible to fly low speed aerobatics and leave the inverted departure. It's only a matter of training and as a real pilot you can't tell about the abilities of a plane with flying only some minutes or hours. 1. Inverted departure (by LQQCN101): discussion: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=134851 2. high AOA maneuvers (by Ironhand): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135959 3. Cobra is possible and not scripted. Just fly at low speed (390-400 km/h). I you insist, I can add a track the next days but you will find a video for sure if you use the search function. 4. Don't forget it's still a beta. FM tweaking will continue 5. Last but not least and as far as I know, ED is in contact with actual Flanker pilots so I would have some trust in their work.

    strange audio

Ten minutes ago I sat in my F-15 to make a ramp start when I heard intermittend audio noise in and outside of the cockpit. Maybe I missed something during the last patches but I refrained from posting it in the bug section since it sounds like wind to me. Can somebody confirm that this intended? sample.trk
  10. Agree. Since every update is upon collusion with ED I won't expect great changes before 2.0 1.2.14 is just to iron some major bugs out, two of them were introduced in 1.2.12. I think the ED Team is working like hell to get 2.0 ready for Q1 2015. Meantime the LN dev Team has hopefully merry christmas and some time to work on the cat :megalol:
  11. Sure there are many things to improve but maybe against bombers the hit ratio could be ok. If I'm not totally wrong this was also the main purpose for these missiles? I found a funny Video from ralfidude in which they experimented a bit with these weapons :)
  12. Tja gute Frage. Es ist in der Open Beta und erst wenn dort alles läuft wird es als Release Version freigegeben. Aus Erfahrung würde ich sagen Anfang bis Mitte nächster Woche
  13. @ moderators Just an idea to keep it clean since there are misunderstandings with every new open beta... How about opening a DCS sub forum for the new versions? Like the 1.2.7 and 1.2.8 that still exists and can possibly be erased?
  14. Maybe you try the 109 next time :megalol:
  15. I don't checked every single post but as far as I know the complaints about how difficult a two seater may be came from other users. Cobra never lost a word about it. Otherwise many other options like the F-4 would also be dead. According to all clues I have seen so far it will be a F-14 (my guess). If ED will get a multiplayer two seater working in the not so far future (and maybe someone make an AH-64) I will need no other games for the next decade.
  16. Ok, as promised I made another flight over MV. There are very few smoke plumes with these effects on my side. As you can see in the picture only two over this part of the town. My settings are high for both, scenes and vis range. Maybe some kind of a former effects test. Since some People get serious fps issues with that it would be worth looking into it....
DCS Open Beta 1.2.14.35513.594 released, you can update your Open Beta builds. F-15C external fuel tank weight fixed F-15C unintended roll fixed
  18. I refered only to the graphics effect. I have no fps problem with the effects in my picture. Btw as said by some others these plumes seem to be only around MV. Will take a flight there next evening and report back.
  19. Or to make it short... How deep are you into physics, flight model creating, 3D modeling and programming? There are experienced excellent 3rd Party developer teams which work a couple of years to bring us a new airframe... If you just wan't some arcade fun it would be a lot easier to try another game... (no offense) Otherwise, if you have serious ambitions you should really talk to the team since there may be legal problems in adding planes (especially if you would like to share them).
  20. Maybe you should point out what your intention is. Modding an existing plane, fly an AI aircraft or create a new one? For the last Point you should talk with ED officials since this may be a bit more work than you imagine to say it cautious :music_whistling:
  21. Strange, made a screenshot with 1.2.12.35194 some minutes ago. Thats my result, Looks different from all the other examples. My driver version is 344.48.
  22. Thanks guys, that was my concern. Let's hope for the future...
  23. Since this thread already exists, is there a pilot with an idea to successfully employ the BL-755? Tried two approaches: fast low level drop (750km/h, 100m, level flight) - no explosions at all dive drop (600km/h, 1000m, 30° dive) - one big explosion, no clustering so any ideas are welcome
  24. Ok most of the sources are from YouTube. I think that says all. Even if you look at Wikipedia, there is stated that Russia claimed to have jammed the Spy1, not shut it down. From the United States was no statement at all. No neutral sources were available to confirm the russian claims. As far as I know from my time onboard a german frigate the skipper had two choices: 1. To sit there and let the pilots play their game (which is an unfriendly act when there are no common maneuvers and no comms - Try to show me a News report where a Hornet or a british Tornado passed a russian strike group while flying an attack profile. The skipper achieved two goals, he deescalated the situation and his EW Team learned valuable Information about the russian ECM-Pod 2. Even if the Spy1 got jammed (which I won't believe without a neutral source saying so) the Skipper was able to use the AN/SPS67(V)3 for low flying targets or switch to target Illumination (which is a really unfriendly act, we did this only in preplanned maneuvers against british Hawks simulating sea skimmer attacks). In These cases he would have been able to track the fighters and last but not least there were still 2 CIWS ready for action... I would think it is 15% real and 85% propaganda. As stated before, look which nations are conducting such "show of force". I think most NATO pilots would never get in the air again if they play sea skimmer against a russian ship during their maneuvers in the barents sea. I think the jamming took part but instead of 27 resignations were 27 people which had to be held back from pressing the trigger :joystick:
  25. Nice storytelling but as a former non-russian, non-american radar operator I'm really amazed to hear the whole story from you, maybe in another thread.... How can two jets shut down the AA-Radar of a frigate? And by the way, as far as I remember US-frigates don't have AEGIS systems... :music_whistling:
